  1. Can you move onto the 10 or 11 night cruises that are directly replacing the 3x seven night ones that are being cancelled? My guess is at the moment they have found there is demand for longer itineraries so are switching up later in the season to offer some longer trips.
  2. I was also hoping they have raised the quality of the burgers!
  3. Resilient Lady doesn’t have any air hockey tables. As much as I missed playing it, as you say it makes a much better atmosphere without them. Also then the space where the air hockey is on the other ships was used for the hosted karaoke on Resilient.
  4. The other downside is it can’t be used with the lock it in guarantee rate. For our cruises this year the lock it in rate was a significant saving compared to using a MNVV voucher. Also with the current promo giving $600 bar tab anyway we didn’t need the extra loot credit. Of course that cheap lock it in rate isn’t always available and is more restrictive so has its own downsides too!
  5. You could do The Wake for brunch if you want to try it. Or they offer steak at lunch too.
  6. The Wake has the worst service of all the onboard restaurants, personally I think there are better and more interesting restaurants onboard. My favourite is Pink Agave, then menu A (first course mushroom) at Test Kitchen. Then Gunbae, Extra Virgin and Razzle Dazzle with the Wake the lowest priority for me. Dont forget Razzle Dazzle does breakfast/brunch and the Wake brunch/lunch so you can dine at those places in the morning.
  7. Don’t think cancellation for August 24 is not linked to Brilliant not being ready, I think they are just hoping that cruises from Portsmouth sell better than Athens. my guess on what they do for 2025 depends on what sells for 2024, they are still trying to work out what the popular itineraries are.
  8. Yep this annoyed me too as the text in the app said to arrive 15 minutes before, but they have actually changed the timing in the app so that 15 minutes is now included in the time shown. Last year it showed a start time of 5.45 (which is when the singer takes the stage, with the host out at 6pm) so you arrive at 5.30. Now shows a start time of 5.30 but the app still encourages arriving 15 minutes before that so the casino has a queue filling it! I agree that the food quality has improved, the new roast vegetable salad and tomato mozzarella were booth good. Chicken still needs a side with it I think. i thought I saw better acts a year ago than a month ago, but they change all the time. Also the amount of audience participation seemed the same to me, but the quality of the interaction depends a lot on the host and the one last month was great.
  9. Scarlet has MAC, I think Valiant has Chanel makeup.
  10. You could consider also excursions from other companies or self guiding if the VV one sells out.
  11. When you do the check in steps on the app there is an option for the second sailor to state you are paying for everything, then everything gets charged to your loot/tab and then credit card when that’s gone. or you can go to Sailor Services once onboard the ship and get them to combine your two accounts so everything gets charged to one person.
  12. On each counter that is offering a special, there will be an example plated up with a small sign describing it. Typically the salad bar and diner will have specials, plus the bread counter rotates through a lot of options.
  13. Order the really expensive Dom Perignon champagne by the bottle.
  14. Generally shows end at 11pm. If Scarlet Night has bad weather the pool party moves to the Red Room but that will be done by 12.30am. From what I’ve read the worst issue is rehearsals in the afternoons if you want to nap in your room.
  15. It’s rotating guest acts, usually a comedian or magician.
  16. I think so, but from what I’ve read they might open it at the bar.
  17. No, bar tab can only be used at bars and restaurants, not shops.
  18. I agree I find them fine. But I think we prefer a firmer bed anyway.
  19. If it’s in the Manor then probably yes. If it’s in the Red Room then you might be able to get short notice reservations or standby. Basically the Red Room seats a lot more than the Manor so it’s easier to get in.
  20. I’ve had it as a lunch special in the Galley. Others have seen it as a dinner special in the Galley too. Personally we prefer the new Razzle Dazzle menu. The butter chicken was the only stand out dish on the old one. There were no starters my partner liked on the old one, now there are several good ones. Same with the desserts, the old ones seemed to be focused more on looks than taste and the good stuff (churros and Razzle cake) are still available for brunch.
  21. No there is separate breakfast 5am to 11am and lunch/dinner menu for 11am to 5am. They were planning to use Bluetooth on the app to track you for delivery everywhere but I think it’s only used for shake for champagne now. There are no single use plastics anywhere on the ship, metal silverware and cloth napkins are standard. Only time you’ll get disposable stuff is ice cream cups and spoons and takeaway coffee cups.
  22. If you order speciality coffee like a latte, americano or cappuccino then it comes in a paper cup. Filter coffee is in small flasks with plastic cups. Soft drinks will be in their can and same for alcohol generally. The food is in nice plastic dishes with a lid, but you can remove stuff onto the lid to use it as a plate. Metal silverware and cloth napkins are provided and sugar etc will be in small metal containers.
  23. Don’t expect that on VV, the event is not about the stars, it is storytelling really. They don’t have an astronomical expert!
  24. We had very bad weather on the sea day between Malaga and Funchal a year ago too.
  25. It’s one of the happenings cast reading myths and legends for half an hour at the dock.
