  1. Depends how you look at the stated intention, they intended to run cruises from San Juan and they still are running cruises from San Juan. When booking a flight you book to go from New York to London, it doesn’t so much matter if it’s a 747 or an A380 transporting you. It could be looked at that way here, people booked to cruise from San Juan and they still are. Unfortunately due to the availability of the new ship they can’t run as many cruises from Miami as planned
  2. Yep but still therefore closer to the running of the business than Sir Richard.
  3. Stating that people booked on Valiant will sail on Valiant isn’t really relevant either. I’m not claiming to know what the plan was, but my guess is there were more people booked to sail from San Juan and therefore the business decision is to keep the San Juan itineraries and cancel the Miami ones. But as we don’t have access to the sales data we have to assume that VV decided to make the decision which makes them the most money.
  4. Or you can look at it as those who want to sail from San Juan are sailing from San Juan irrespective of the ship they are on.
  5. Richard Branson has zero to do with the running of Virgin Voyages. Tom McAlpine is the CEO so is the person ultimately responsible for the company. Virgin just owns 49% of the business and Richard owns Virgin. He might be on the marketing but he won’t be signing things off day to day, that’s for the board of Virgin Voyages.
  6. The lifeboats are on deck 7 but cause obstructions to some cabins on deck 8.
  7. It’s sparkling wine at the Splash of Romance and Deep Blue Extras parties too. Only the rockstar hour is Moet.
  8. Yep there is a list of the applicable cabin categories in the promotion terms and it starts at regular sea terrace. MNVV is promo 50 in this list https://www.virginvoyages.com/promotional-terms-and-conditions?item=d56315a9-5acc-4555-9bd7-f8fe9786b398
  9. I’m the opposite, The Wake felt cruise ship faux fancy, but I liked the bright colours of the Tom Dixon chairs in Pink Agave.
  10. Personally I actually think that Pink Agave feels fancier that the Wake, but in a less stuffy way!
  11. As far as I know it is the specific type, so sea terrace is one category, central sea terrace is another, XL sea terrace is a different category. This is from the my next voyage offer being for the sea terrace or better category then listing out all the separate ones it applies to.
  12. Sailor loot and onboard credit are the same thing and can be used for anything you can charge to your cabin. bar tab can only be used for drinks, alcoholic, non-alcoholic or hot. This includes the drink pairings at test kitchen.
  13. Tap me then settings and scroll down to the bottom and there is a switch voyage button.
  14. There is no 44 night repositioning, it takes that long to get from Athens to Australia but they sell it as three cruises, Athens to Dubai, Dubai to Singapore and Singapore to Sydney. You could pick one of the three and they have soldout in 2023.
  15. It’s not the dumbest of reasons if the San Juan itineraries were selling better, if there was more people booked on those cruises it makes sense to switch the ship to the more popular port.
  16. Most people are discussing the cancellations in this thread https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2931423-what-happened-to-brilliant-lady/page/22/#comment-66056289
  17. It also states “Next summer between May and October 2024, Scarlet will soak up the Mediterranean sun, taking on Valiant Lady’s two seven-night itineraries” therefore the April transatlantic on Scarlet happens as planned so it can do Barcelona. basiclaly with Scarlet nothing has changed, except there will be new repositioning cruises in November 2024. Everything that’s been on sale for the last year remains going always on Scarlet Lady.
  18. That’s already known and has been on sale like that for a year or so, Scarlet repositions to Barcelona in April and then when the season finishes in October goes to dry dock. The change is Valiant will now take over San Juan January to April before going back to Miami from April.
  19. When doing check in on the app you can specify that one person is covering everything. But that means the second persons DBE $100 doesn’t get used. Or you can go to sailor services and just pool all the charges across everyone and specify who to charge if there are charges not covered by bar tab.
  20. Sort of, one person will get $400 and the other $100, then you’ll need to get Sailor services to combine it onboard.
  21. That one agent might not know it’s been extended?
  22. Some do, some don’t. Most do have a collared shirt or a very good t-shirt though but there will be some people in dress shorts.
  23. It will 100% be due to Brilliant Lady not working in the app yet.
