  1. Same as everything else, book once on the ship WiFi.
  2. The food was great, kinda an Indian inspired menu, sweet potato chaat, then a tuna dish, spiced beef short rib main and a small cheesecake desert. it includes alcoholic drinks. Welcome cocktails and then several pours of sparkling rose during the meal. Also two more themed cocktails at times during the show. Do make sure to grab a second or third cocktail during the welcome drinks! the show has a romance, sleeping beauty type theme but features good circus and dance and a lot of excellent live singing. we went for the middle tier of seating (floor) and it was perfect at the rear of the manor floor. The front row was too close I think. Overall you definitely get your $50 back in drinks and it’s a great show and meal.
  3. The Moet would normally be $95 onboard and the spa $59 per person. So those two things is a big part of the value. But many people get the package for the priority check in. If you don’t like Moet you will be wasting money.
  4. currently we have $600 bar tab from the current offers and $100 from DBE. Both of these were on my husband’s account as he made the booking. So when we did check in on the app, in the wallet step I said he is paying for everything so it all comes from that total of $700 bar tab. the other charges (such as Another Rose show and shopping) will go onto his credit card.
  5. Am I the only person who loves the drip coffee in the Galley? It’s got a nice sweet rounded flavour I thought.
  6. There was an email recently about VV doing food and drink months for August and September which mentioned this new menu so it might come to the other ships then? I think there is still a strong veggie option to this menu, there is an equal number of meat and veggie dishes so almost better than the old one I think, they just aren’t selling the restaurant as veggie/vegan anymore, it’s just the signature restaurant.
  7. Dined at Razzle Dazzle tonight on Resilient Lady and the new menu is great. Had pork belly, smoked beef short rib and apple cake and all were great. Back again tomorrow to try more dishes as I’m told the lamb is also good. For brunch it’s largely the same menu but no more cookies.
  8. If you want to share the bar tab then the lead sailor needs to cover their cabin mates expenses so the bar tab is used. If you just type the same card number in both then only the person with the bar tab will get it charged.
  9. depends on the ship. We’re on Resilient Lady and initially the major shows were 7pm and 10pm most nights. Once we boarded it was cut back to 8pm some nights and 10pm some nights. We’ve seen 10pm shows most nights and had dinner at 7pm. All dinners have been under 90minutes. Last night Extra Virgin with all the courses and affogato was 70minutes!
  10. I’m on my fifth cruise at the moment and I’ve never seen that outdoor grill used! I’m not sure it’s the right place for hot tubs though. There are two up on deck 16 at the athletic club though.
  11. One of them does contain a grill to cook the meats on, I’ve just never seen it used. The other is used as DJ booth sometimes.
  12. I’m currently on Resilient Lady and I think there will be a lot fewer sailors onboard compared to Scarlet, but we’ve not had a dinner get close to 90 minutes even. Most have been just over an hour. It does sound like Scarlet is struggling compared to the other ships.
  13. We thought about doing the boat to Oia if the cable car line was long. But took it up and then walked along the cliff top to Imerovigli which is between Fira and Oia and only half hour or so walking from the cable car, then walked back and wandered Fira. I’m glad we did walk along as Imerovigli was much more picturesque whereas Fira was all tourist shops. Oia may have been even prettier but we had done a lot of walking and didn’t want to bother in the end. But looks like public bus would have been easy enough. Just walking out to Rhodes now
  14. We are currently onboard Resilient Lady. Yesterday there was us, MSC Musica (similar size) and a small Regent ship in Santorini. At around 11am we waited 45 minutes for the cable car up and about 3pm it was 30 minute wait to go down.
  15. Yes sorry I wasn’t clear, I meant more that by getting the bar tab offer we don’t need the other $600. Especially on this Greek island itinerary where there are lots of port stops I don’t feel like we are onboard spending as much. So the bar tab plus lock it in worked out perfectly. I’m surprised you can’t get an accessible limited view cabin on lock it in though. Seems discriminatory and possibly against ADA and similar that you can’t get the same discounts due to disability needs. I would expect there should be a way to get accessible cabin on that rate just so everyone is able to pay the same price irrespective of their needs.
  16. I think this is a Scarlet Lady issue due to those sailings being so full. no issue with service on Resilient although cocktails took a while to come out at On the Rocks.
  17. We booked lock it in limited view and then got an upgrade to central sea terrace at the minimum bid of £185. Saved around £800 compared to booking the regular terrace upfront.
  18. With splash of romance you don’t get $100, it has to be Moet.
  19. It’s normal for Brilliant Lady San Juan sailings as that ship isn’t up and running yet.
  20. The only disadvantage to the my next Virgin voyage is that you can’t use it with lock it in rate. With the current free bar tab offer and a lock it in rate we got $600 to spend on drinks and paid around £1000 less for the room anyway using lock it in. Whereas the deposit would have saved us ~£250 and got $600 onboard spend. But of course the lock it in rare means you only find out a few days before what cabin you’ve got and it can be limited view. Although we bid and got a central sea terrace. For the transatlantic where we know we want an XL cabin we did use the MNVV credit as wanted to guarantee the cabin type. But for tomorrows Greek Island and September Med cruises where it’s more about ports the saving on the lock it in rate is fantastic.
  21. You can ask the host stand nicely but they will probably tell you to come back at 9.30pm or so when it’s quieter and they can allocate a table just for two.
  22. yep it seems strange why they made the change as it’s not a liability or covid issue but as you say something was modified after the Uk cruises. I skipped it on a shorter trip too, but on a seven night cruise there is enough time to do everything!
  23. I assume you mean December 2021, all 2020 sailings were cancelled. We sailed August 2021 in the UK covid staycation cruises and everyone was given tongs and encouraged to remove the food from the grill ourselves. Something changed then from the move from UK to US I assume but it was not initially due to covid, we still shared the table with another couple. I’ve always assumed it was cultural and initial guest feedback.
