Transfer Vouchers Confirmation Question
laudergayle replied to cxc362's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
If you want to make sure your transaction went through, open up Payment in your account either online or app. Once open click on Vacation Add-on. You should see the transfer there. As mentioned, show e-docs on airport arrival. Departure you will get a letter with your luggage tags night before departure. It says show the letter to board the bus…but we’ve never been asked. -
NCL switching to fixed menus in the MDR?

NCL switching to fixed menus in the MDR?
laudergayle replied to DrSea's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Ouch! I don’t know what’s worse…fixed dining or fixed menu. Oh yes, both fixed dining and fixed menus would be worse (oh nooo). Regardless…NCL wins. We would still move towards more SPD or Haven. Yay NCL. Hope someday they improve their bottom line enough that all of us can get back to the glory days. -
NCL switching to fixed menus in the MDR?
laudergayle replied to DrSea's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I know that is what your post is suggesting. I was wondering if in the translation did the communication get twisted. I offered up a scenario where it could be possible the “fixed” dining comment was referring to the dining time not the menus. Time will tell…2024 enhancements for our convenience are in the works now. -
NCL switching to fixed menus in the MDR?
laudergayle replied to DrSea's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Fixed dining or fixed menus? I noticed a recent change when trying to make MDR dining reservations on the Bliss. In the past we could reserve on the half hour. Now we can choose 6:30 or 8:30 only. Hmmmm. As for my hubby and me (we’re pretty typical) we dislike the “cattle call” so we would load up on Specialty Dining and might even consider Haven. Plays well for NCL’s piggy bank. and, what’s funny, MSC is experimenting with Anytime Dining in US based cruises. -
Crystal Ball or 8-Ball 🤣

OP has moved on after Post #30. We should all move on as well.

25,000 Sign Up Bonus for NCL Card
laudergayle replied to laudergayle's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Actually the best use if you’re are willing to stay in a balcony or below is the one meta upgrade for 30,000 points. Get the card, book a QA cabin, pay for your cruise (25k plus 3x your cruise cost) should put you at 30,000 points. Then call and upgrade to a BA. The actual value of those points when used as an upgrade is typically worth $1000+. And, the longer the cruise is typically more value. -
Anyone who’s been waiting for a higher signup bonus, now would be the time. I just got an email with 25k instead of the normal 20k. if you read the last several pages of the NCL credit card FAQ topic (first on page 1) you can get ideas on how to optimize this bonus to your advantage. Offer can be found at bottom of NCL.com.

A 25,000 signup bonus just popped up in my email.

Advice Needed: Prepaid Gratuities and Fees Not Refunded
laudergayle replied to larsnyz's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Glad it worked out for you. I kinda thought you may have originally worked with a rep who wasn’t as sharp to spot the error. Hope your dad’s health is improving. -
We will see. 2024 is right around the corner, and recently we were asked to complete a survey about what we valued most/least as a NCL Platinum member. NCL leadership has said that the cost-cutting/revenue-generating changes are not over (which in the corporate world they never are…duh). On the flip side, MSC is also cost-cutting…but I believe they are really trying hard to create loyalty, especially in the North American market. Perhaps they will be eyeing their competitors’ programs. I made the mistake of booking two cruises in 1Q 2023 with final payment due before 1/1/23. As a result, there were a lot of what I consider significant changes (cost cuts/price increases) that I was locked into. For that reason, we are not booking any 2024 cruises until we see what the new changes, or negative enhancements for our convenience will be. I know…a little off topic, but the beginning of my post was on topic…lol. can’t wait to hear about your new cruise discovery. We did a little 4-night a few weeks ago, and we would def sail MSC again if we liked price and itinerary.

Honestly…they were insanely good. I actually put one on and then left the plate (sorry🙁) when the tray wasn’t as carmelizied.
-
OMG YES… I had read about them in your review and found them on our 8/27-31 Seaside cruise. They were heavenly. Fortunately I could split it with my hubby so I ate one every morning, along with my buffet over easy eggs (which were perfect). Oh, and MSC buffet coffee is really good.

I don’t think Jewel or Epic have any stellar productions like SIX, Jersey Boys or Choir of Men. A lot of the entertainment on Epic is found in small venues…the Cavern Club and where Howl at the Moon is. The Beatles will do at least one show in Epic main theater, and I think they have an Elton John tribute. Jewel has smaller productions that look to be very entertaining. We’ve sailed Epic and Jade (similar to Jewel) and found both ships to be fun, entertaining and good food. Specialty dining is similar on both. IMO Jewel wins on balcony cabins…the layout is more traditional. Don’t know about Haven on the Jewel, but have read that Epic has the best Haven spaces. Epic has fun water slides, lots of pools and hot tubs…but also more passengers. Also, IMO, Epic has a really nice casino…lots of slots and tables.

You’re salvageable…lol. Good luck with your new relationship and happy early birthday.

What’s the itineraries? Are you traveling as a solo, couple or family? What did you like most about the Encore and Bliss?

I found a GREAT price for a Haven Suite, and here it is!
laudergayle replied to Sthrngary's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
That is one reason we have not booked anything for 2024. We do have a 2025 bucket list reserved…but, for once, we are going to look for after-final-payment deals. We will see… -

Congrats on your deal. From what I’ve read…Epic has one of the best Haven space. Happy Birthdays to your GS, GD and DD…enjoy your cruise. -
Lol…yeah I was (self) important once, too. But I have had many amazing experiences thanks to my self-importance. Moving on…Meravilgia is a much newer ship…and likely even more enjoyable. Based on what I’ve read on CC and other unnamed sites…the YC has this ridiculously awesome seafood buffet one day…which your husband could get 2 dozen shrimp if he wanted.
