  1. OMG, I’m so happy for you!! We did a GA to FL then back to GA move in 2009/2017. We had too much at risk every hurricane season+/- and found it difficult to travel. Being so close to sea level, a good tropical storm at the right tide level could flood our home. Don’t know your circumstances, but I’m still happy you will be cruising again. My guess…you’ll be buying a Cruise Next certificate while onboard. Bon Voyage.
  2. One more question, sorry. Was vibe Cabana an option?
  3. Thanks. May I ask how much and how many days. We’re making final payment in a few days.
  4. We sail Prima in April and Vibe says Too Early To Book, yet our Bliss cruise in November allows us to purchase right now. When you say Not Available, does it say that or does it say Too Early to Book?
  5. In October we used Carmel limo. It was a driver based out of NJ, he knew exactly where Pier 88 was. The fee was comparable to taxi and less than Uber. We paid $80 and that included tolls and gratuity, although we gave him another $10 when he dropped us off. We made reservations in advance.
  6. BirdTravels…love your detail in your posts. To all: On our past few trips to NYC we found it convenient to use the CURB app which is what the NYC regulated taxis use. It operates similar to Uber/Lyft apps but as Bird stated, you are not subjected to the demand pricing.
  7. Yup. The Pareto Principle. But your comment is funny.
  8. @BirdTravelsso, you are so knowledgeable aboutNCL, any idea what may be coming to Epic.
  9. There have been so many posts and threads lately lamenting the not so hidden cost increases that NCL, and other cruise lines, have imposed on their cruisers and potential cruisers. I’m stepping back from my Karen. Actually, since I’m a senior…I would technically be a “Skaren” and my DH would be a MaSkaren (male senior Karen). I am grateful and thankful for several things. 1) that the CDC/Covid shutdown didn’t bankrupt every cruise line and the cruise industry, 2) I am grateful and thankful that there are enough people who have the discretionary income to take cruises, and lastly, 3) I am grateful and thankful that DH and I are part of #2. I hope that this helps shut down a few of the current threads…cause even though I share many of the same opinions…I am ready for some new/different discussions. So there you have it. MO. Oh, BTW sorry if I spoiled anyone’s fun. 🤓
  10. Perhaps. I can agree FDR will have to play chess In the future. We have three NCL cruises in ‘23…but we are def looking at MSC for ‘24. We have found several cruises that we would consider for half the price….equal to equal.
  11. Agree, agree and agree. Makes sense from a cost perspective. And, yes, for the short term, I will support cost cutting. History repeats itself…at some point the cruise market will become a BULL market again, and they will def need to start offering more value to be competitive.
  12. @Sthrngaryso…did you buy any CN certs…and do you have another NCL cruise you’re eye-balling, or perhaps even booked? I know how that Post-cruise feeling makes you want more!
  13. I was able to order a bottle of Moët at breakfast in main dining room. Made a mimosa with OJ and took the rest back to the cabin.
  14. The Prosecco as part of the premium package is very drinkable IMO. And, yes, the sparkling you might get in your cabin is just weird. Last cruise we did premium + and outside of the dining rooms I found it hard to find the + champagne.
  15. I had only heard about the over-the-top costumes, telling the story of three drag queens. I didn’t realize that was part of the storyline…so I googled it. Sure enough. On behalf of my three boys, I can relate. On a different note…we expected (as part of our cruise fare) a broadway performance, and by golly we should get one!! Or is this yet another cost cutting tactic?
  16. I’m curious too. We’re on Epic in February and sure want to see a show. Disappointed that Priscilla was pulled from the entertainment a few days ago.
  17. Was the dish made with a bone-in thigh and breast? I’ve never had Coq Au Vin and have wanted to try it.
  18. While I’m sure you’re just pointing out the technicality of when to pay…Remember if you are going to wait till 24 hours before cruise you won’t be able to pay through the app (and maybe online) since they close your access 72 hours (?) before sail date.
  19. Wow…just checked our Epic cruise in February and Priscilla Queen of the Desert is gone!! Hope it’s an internet glitch. As of now the entertainment options are Burn the Floor, Howl at the Moon and The Cavern Club. Pretty lackluster.
  20. I noticed if when repricing if any of the promos change, the new costs will kick in. Recently repriced a cruise in May to get lower fare and double Lat Rewards. Because the double lat rewards was new, it was a cancel/rebook and my beverage gratuities went up by $30.
  21. After reading about the room service charge and the new DSC rates, I decided to do some mock bookings on MSC. Wow, their cruise rates are very attractive. Not a fan of their dining option, but could do Aqua and still be considerably less than NCL. It will be nice for you having another NYC option.
  22. Complimentary room service hot/cold breakfast would be an excellent benefit to add to Platinum and higher.
  23. Those breakfasts look yummy. Do you know if you can use the hang tag and write in some of the items that are in the book menu, like Express Breakfast?
  24. OUCH. As much as I dislike Atlanta airport due to traffic getting there…we are fortunate there are many flights in/out and typically direct. However, It’s crazy that we sometimes have to leave for the airport 5 hours before our flight to combat traffic, accidents, road closures, parking and TSA. I was surprised with our flights we’re SWA given ATL is a Delta hub.
  25. Thank you for this info. I will definitely try to add Early Bird boarding.
