  1. I’m on Telus too. But the roaming fee is too much for a 12 day vacation. Travelling solo I need to use maps and be able to call hotel / tours etc. safety more than social media or random browsing.
  2. That’s part of what I’m trying to figure out. some of the other sims say they don’t even though use the mobile network…. this one doesn’t say yes or no…and I went through the reviews and couldn’t be sure…
  3. I looked at that. I figured I didn’t really want to switch mid travels, nor have to remember to email and activate the second one before the first one expired. and the hopefully won’t happen but in case of extended quarantine I’d be covered. I figured I’d take 30days for a few extra bucks. im just hesitant because of the split review in it. The whole 40 would be a waste if it didn’t work
  4. im aware, considering that was my post. my question was experience with this particular one. Amazon review are split. I hope you quoting me back to myself was an accident and not taking time to be a deliberate jerk. anyway, anyone have experience with this brand? no other commentary needed.
  5. In first browse through Amazon, this sim seems like a good option. https://www.amazon.ca/travSIM-T-Mobile-Prepaid-America-Canada/dp/B08HQM6PP4/ref=sr_1_19?crid=23BI2V1EJUK3K&keywords=us%2Bsim%2Bcard%2B15%2Bdays&qid=1657394372&sprefix=Us%2BSIM%2Bcard%2B15%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-19&th=1 will be on alaska cruise with a few extra days at end of cruise, so need longer than 7 day. want data and calls in case I need to call hotels / tour operators etc. anyone bought from this provider and have feedback before I go ahead and order? cheers!
  6. I suggest you do the bus tour that you wanted. they said they think you should do it and won’t feel left out. but your brother may feel guilty if you don’t go because of him. you’re going to be together for plenty of time the rest of the trip. think of it as giving him and wife a little time to themselves, and not making him feel like he is changing peoples trip. either way, I hope you all enjoy it. Best,
  7. Thank you all. it seems my 40 for room is reasonable. I wasn’t sure if MDR tip was a thing, but I will bring 40 for them too. and I wasn’t sure about excursions. I will get some 5s for drivers and guides. Also the casino tip was good. Didn’t realize they’d do that. A good back up. I know how much I’d tip in Canada, but woth exchange fluctuating, it’s good to confirm what’s reasonable in a currency that isn’t your own. I didn’t want to be short, but I also didn’t want to get extra as there is no point taking it back to northern Canada. No where to use it and after alaska, no plans to visit the us again any time soon. Yes, staff work hard and deserve an actual tip, not just whatever they might get from the fee Celeb calls a gratuity. cheers!
  8. interesting. I don’t remember being able to make note of it anywhere during the booking process. I booked direct through celebrity website. Maybe I was in an over excited haze and missed it. I will email that address though with my reservation and gluten free note. thank you.
  9. do you know how I contact them? I looked specifically for somewhere to do that at checkin last week and didn’t see anywhere. is there a special email address or just general customer service?
  10. It was on my order receipt. $42 already added on for gratuity. So I feel like that enough there.
  11. Hi all. canadian cruising Alaska in a few weeks. I have to go get some American money from the bank so,e time this week and trying to decide how much. I plan to few some for port snacks, though mostly I will use credit card. Cash is a backup. on board, how much actual cash tipping should I be prepared for? I plan the use MDR for dinners. I’ve looked at menu and seems great. Don’t plan on any specialty restaurants. do ppl leave an extra tip for dining room service? Per use or at end? I was thinking prob not, but then again, I’m celiac and if I don’t get any gluten attacks all week, I would be pretty grateful, so maybe? I also don’t drink anything but water and one tea a day, so won’t need bartender tips. I have one spa treatment pre booked and paid now at it seems like “gratuity”/fee is already included there. The spa prices seem extreme, so I feel like I prob don’t need to leave an extra tip there since a huge one already included. I’m think just room attendant… do you all suggest daily or at end? What range? One solar cruiser who is already clean, and rarely has extra requests. I was thinking maybe $40 for the week if everything is good? do people also tip on prepaid excursions? Are there any other situations Im Not thinking of? cheers!
  12. Totally. As a cancer survivor who got Covid shortly after finishing treatment, I was prescribed paxlovid, and the difference it made was huge. My lungs were filling fluid quickly, but 12 hours after starting pax, started clearing again, and the remainder of my Covid illness was easy. I didn’t have any rebound either. my medical history makes it a bit risky to travel, but I also don’t feel like I beat a deadly disease to stay home forever. But I would absolutely feel better knowing if I got Covid again, paxlovid was available for those people for whom it is designed for and safe for.
  13. Good to know. I only pack what I can manage myself through airport, so I’m sure I can manage off the boat. When I get off in Seward, I’m just hanging out for a few days, so no excursions or transfers or anything.
  14. Thank you for posting. Flying AC in Aug. thankfully no Vancouver cancellations
  15. Are you always allowed to disembark with your bags yourself and not put them out the night before?
  16. Yes I looked at the very long post thread. I didn’t see any updates there for being awarded. I didn’t realize July 15th was when I should be looking for them. I was hoping to get 2 captains points for my first cruise in Aug, but I only booked in April, missed may (didn’t know it was a thing then) and did the June one. but sounds like if I do the July one it won’t be awarded til free my departure (Aug 5) next time I guess.
  17. Anyone have thier points awarded for doing the Caribbean quiz?
  18. Thank you for answering my two questions. seems there is no matcha, and likely would not add my matcha to steamed milk and froth it for me (in case I had malicious intent with the ingredients of my powder). I will switch to regular tea for a few days before the trip and wean down temporarily. and figure out where I can leave a suggestion the the cafe get matcha tea latte on their menu. 🙃
  19. Hi all, Thinking about a cruise next Summer or Christmas 2023. Am doing Alaska this August. I’m a teach, and I only have hOlidays long enough to cruise in August and winter break. trying to choose a good itinerary. I’m worried about it being super hot in ports. I don’t do well with intense heat. I’m sure sea days will be fine and onboard, but want to make sure I can enjoy excursions too. So august is a good time for me with more dates available, I don’t know if it’s the best time of year for Caribbean, and I should try to find a trip over Christmas break instead. I only have two weeks to play with them. anyone have any advice?
  20. Good to know. I think I will need to find an alternate plan. thank you
  21. Have looked at the menus from cafe Al bacio others have posted. I see green tea. But not matcha. I drink a matcha latte everyday. Anyone know if maybe matcha is available anywhere on board like maybe a secret menu item? if not, do you think could take my own can of matcha powder and have it mixed with steamed milk and frothed? I don’t drink coffee, and if I can’t get a good matcha latte, i Will need to wean Down my caffeine to regular tea before hand or will have a massive caffiene headache all week. thanks!
  22. Yep, it was more real once I did check in! I will edit my pic later when I try on my outfits for chic nights. good to know they can be changed. also waiting for luggage tags to activate. Maybe at the one month mark…
  23. Thank you for clarification. I have been checking the app which I didn’t see this anywhere. So I checked the website version today and I see this page you have captured. It says tags and pending and edocs are not avail yet. I’m at 41 days so ill keep an eye there. my vaccination is still pending review so maybe after they approve that..
  24. I bought these tags too. Hoping my docs get emailed. I do t have any captains club points yet. First cruise ever.
