  1. Brisket is a highly common Jewish dinner. Can’t tell you how many brisket dinners I ate growing up
  2. Prices go up and down regardless if there is any actual sale going on. I’ve seen price drops with no “sale” and price increases during a sale. Supply vs demand dictates prices, not sales
  3. First I’ve heard of this. Scaling down menu options each night is the current MDR trend along many cruise lines. NCL would be the exception to expand daily menu offerings
  4. Depends on who is doing the checking in and where at. Most of the time no one cares, but sometimes you are told to wait. Obviously no one can tell you which response you will encounter.
  5. If you ask your butler for some, I’m willing to bet they will show up.
  6. Yup, there is a room that is on the second floor of 270 all the way tucked in the aft starboard side that would be perfect.
  7. She broke the terms of her contract with the cruise line. She don’t get compensated for that. She might get some excursions refunded IF she gave 24 notice.
  8. I received mine in the mail about 45 days out, but I always use the printed ones because I trust my luggage tag holders just a little more than the adhesive tags. Yes, I’m probably fine and a little paranoid about the adhesive ones…but that’s me. Just saw the post above and yes, I’m in The Haven so maybe that’s why I get them
  9. Have you tried calling the cruise line?? Seems like that would be a logical starting point.
  10. Good to hear! I’m on the Bliss in 2 weeks and love Frankie!
  11. Non-alcoholic Lava Flows are what my kids have and they love them
  12. Get lunch at Jamie’s and have a nice meal with a drink to ease into cruise mode. I avoid the zoo…I mean buffet, at all costs on embarkation day.
  13. It’s clearly spelled out that only kids 16 or older need IDs. Birth certificate is all you need for a 9 year old. I have two 15 year olds who have never sailed with anything more than the birth certificate. You are good to go
  14. 2 potential issues with this: 1) NCL won’t let you book multiple rooms under one name as far as I’m aware, and 2) dad would be charged double occupancy for that inside cabin. So the snoring issue just cost an additional couple thousand bucks on top of booking 6 in a Haven room.
  15. Not sure what you are expecting. If you are wanting something that does not exist, they aren’t going to be able to make it happen. Getting Haven perks for those not staying in the Haven is not going to happen. There never has been, thankfully, a pay for Haven perks option. You either all have to suck it up with the snoring or not have the Haven trip for everyone like you expected. Your family is going to be the lone exception to allow non Haven cruisers in the Haven.
  16. You will be able to get reservations somewhere. Might not be your choice of day, venue or time…but something will be available.
  17. Those points are not credited until a week or two after disembarking
  18. Those are automated email and they hoping for last second cancellations to upsell. Don’t read too much into them
  19. Baltimore is just too much in a cruise no man’s land. It’s a bad port for a Caribbean cruise and it’s a bad port for New England cruises. You lose at least a port day or two day compared to FL ports going to the Caribbean. The bridge severely limits ship size and Baltimore is such a cesspool that it’s not going to attract cruisers from going there and not the better ports with better itineraries. Princess is a higher end line from Carnival and Royal and I don’t think the immediate Baltimore area would really support an elevated line. There is a reason why higher end cruise lines don’t go there….not much demand.
  20. Princess isn’t a snobby line. It’s laid back and elevated from lines like Royal and NCL, but not pretentious and no Carnival crowds.
  21. It’s happened before, but recently that is very very rare to jump several cabin levels on a minimum bid. Ships are too full and people are bidding higher than minimums much more often. Don’t hold your breath.
  22. Having been on both lines many many many times, both have their perks. Royal doesn’t have the free at sea, but NCL is often more a bit expensive when you in comparable ship classes and itineraries. Those FAS costs are more built in. nothing in the NCL fleet can contend with an Oasis or Icon class. NCL Bliss is my all time favorite ship, but I was not in awe of it like Wonder OTS. Royal is much better, IMO, for younger kids and families. Coco Cay is vastly superior to Great Stirrup Cay. I’ve had much better service as a regular passenger on Royal, but vastly superior service as a Haven passenger vs Royal Sky Class. Speciality dining options on NCL are a MILE (maybe two) better than Royal. NCL has a better night life. there are all my personal opinions and observations. Both lines will continue to transport my fat butt around the globe depending on dates and itineraries. Others will call me crazy on some of the things I said above, but that is their opinion as well. Personally I favor NCL with just the wife and I, but favor Royal when we take the kids. I recently booked my first Princess cruise and having a hard time figuring them out, so I feel ya on that!!
  23. Yes you can. There is nothing different than booking a dining reservation. Also, the 21 days isn’t 100%. Mine opened up at 30 days for my upcoming sailing on Bliss.
