  1. So glad to hear you have a release date in sight. We'll pray tomorrow is the day. Meanwhile you just get better! I hope they were able to get you up with the walker again.
  2. Sorry everyone for so many posts but Joy just posted while I did! JOY, I am so sorry to hear what a miserable morning you had at the oral surgeon's. I hope you aren't in pain! If you feel up to it check in again later to let us know how you are coping. I pray you will be in better condition tomorrow.🙏
  3. Wow, that's fantastic news about the upgrade! Enjoy your balcony as you sail to and from Bermuda. 😎☀️
  4. I noticed that the only photos from November 18th of Kushiro were posted by Tony @sailingdutchywho is still on the Koningsdam today. I doubt he will be reposting those photos so I don't think he'd mind if I did it for him. So for your viewing pleasure, here are Tony's wonderful photos from his stop in Kushiro, Japan. From our cruise on the Volendam Kushiro is the city on the northern Japanese Island of Hokkaido and was the first Japanese Port we visited on our Trans Pacific cruise in 2017. The Island is specially famous for the beautiful cranes which are near the Western side of the Island We just went into town for a walk to stretch our sea legs ( after 8 Sea Days ) and to see the famous fish market there where we had a few nibbles and a delicious bowl of Japanese soup . We could use a very nice warm bowl of soup here tonight " baby its cold outside “ and snowy ! Without too much commentary today , you’ll forget names etc anyways by tomorrow , just a few nice pictures Loved this little car check the wheels and the paw prints on the hood Utility box cover Near the Port Entrance , some photo opportunities for us cruisers ........wonderful to be a geisha for a day for the ladies ! Or to get some special Japanese treats
  5. Thank you for pointing that out and helping to keep the lists current. Sorry for the mixup.🙁 Yes, DS was a little bummed about this week's weather in Dallas when we spoke to him last night. He mentioned the forecast for the following week seems lots better. He doesn't have much luck with weather while in Texas, it seems. Two years ago he was an expert witness at a trial in Waco during the weeklong freeze and power outages. What a disaster! He couldn't leave!
  6. Thanks for your update Nancy. I'm sorry you are so cold on the ship but I believe it. Our room was freezing the entire 28 days on the Amazon cruise, but since it was so hot outside we didn't report it. Mid ship places like the Casino were cold every day as well. OTOH, some people had very little AC in their rooms and were miserable with the heat. They had to load on more room fans during some stops to distribute to those who complained. Unfortunate!
  7. Jack welcome home! I'm glad everyone had a great time on your cruise. Very nice to be able to drive to the port, isn't it? We're driving to Fort Lauderdale again late next week and since it's a 7 day cruise can park it for that short amount of time. Much more comfortable (and cheaper) than a rental car. Thanks for the photo of Lily. How can she be 6 months old already? She's a happy, sweet little gal from the looks of it. And cute as a button! Glad to have you back on the Daily.
  8. Tina, no I'm not on the Rotterdam, I'll be on the Feb. 11 Sky Princess W. Carbibbean and Mexico cruise. I haven't been on one of the large Princess ships in a while. Island and Coral were the last two. When do you get on Rotterdam? Scratch that! I just remembered you are on my Celebration list today! Duh! Feb. 4th!
  9. Has to be a rebroadcast of yesterday's games on the 8th of February.
  10. So it's not just me?? I feel so relieved! Besides, you all know your geography and can pick out which ship is which. Roy can spoil everyone with his great maps when he's back home.🙂 BON VOYAGE!! (Smiling at the little guy. Is he Spiderman?🕷️)
  11. Sorry to hear Covid finally caught up with you! We hadn't had it before either until we went on our first cruise since the shutdown. - June/July 2022 Island Princess. Are you able to stay in your own cabin? We had to move to a less desireable cabin last year with no fresh air. It was nice having room service deliver every meal to us though. Be sure to rest as much as possible because fatigue was the worst symptom we had. Take care!
  12. Gerry, that is just too darn cold!! Please DO stay inside and enjoy your homemade stew with homemade buns. And wine! Sorry I have no experience with ceramics but I might be tempted not to use it anymore or even toss it. Debbie, the turkey photos look so good! Made me hungry for sliced turkey sandwiches. Thank you! And we can't wait to see how your new bedroom looks. When is Sue coming down? It feels more like 48 out there I'd say. Or at least it looks that cold (Gerry is laughing her head off at our interpretation of COLD). Poor DS will have to put up with freezing precipation in Dallas all week. Freezing rain is no fun at all. Hope it's just some snow because he's a pro at driving in snow. And as for computer skills, I can't figure out GIMP software for the ship names, so there. I'm just as unskilled as you claim you are.😛
  13. Thank you! We still want to cheer you on as enjoy your cruise. My upcoming cruise isn't on HAL either. I'll add you tomorrow.
  14. My apologies for not listing your cruise. I missed it somehow. What ship and dates please?
  15. Jacqui, so great to hear you were able to bear the pain last night and get some sleep. Did you try Bruce @aliaschief's suggestion to cut the pill in half and take it more often instead of one big dose? Makes sense, but you might have to get up at night to re-dose I guess. Anyway I'm happy you are feeling a little better. We have a landline with answering machine as well as cell phone and voicemail. Trying to keep everybody employed I suppose.😁 Be safe while doing your shopping today. So nice of your neighbor to chauffeur you around. And thank you for the reminder! Happy 70th birthday Melisa @HAL Sailer. Kept forgetting yesterday. Thanks for the drink recipe today Dixie. I'm glad to see you posting today (other than the drink that is). Sorry to hear about the crown coming loose. And we still have a landline too with an answering machine on it. Since we signed up with Nomorobo several years back we don't have nearly as many spam calls to record thankfully! I see Jacqui posted information about her can opener. You should look into it. If I had trouble with my hands or arms I certainly would. DH is fine with our old standby. Sorry you are having trouble sleeping. I don't sleep all that much, waking up over and over at night but I manage to get by somehow. But if I need a nap I take one. No shame in that! I'm sorry to hear about the pain and sleeping issues Roy. Don't pay attention to the night nurse's opinion. It will be what the doctors and you combined decide, not the speculations of one night nurse. Keep us updated! We hope today is much better for you. Thanks Ann! A week from Friday we're leaving for a short cruise (FCC money) so someone may have to take over at that point. Praying it's our friend Roy, feeling 100% by then. Thinking optimistically!
  16. Good morning friends! I'm up a little earlier than usual trying to finish the Daily and Fleet Report, and Care and Celebration lists before my usual treadmill time. Need to get a good start to the day! Hoping Roy @rafinmdhas a good morning and the docs feel he is ready to go home and rest in his own bed. Thanks to Rich @richwmnfor setting up the Daily message for us so that we can continue on with this tradition. It's about 50F here and it's been raining a lot overnight. We will have more rainy periods and some cloudy periods with a high of 59 later on. I see today is Nantional Inane Answering Machine Message Day. Ours is the usual type, but can't wait to hear Redneck Bob's message! I appreciate bubble wrap especially the last time I moved. I had huge rolls of it. National Escape Day? Not for me! Sort of a dreary quote from Bob Dylan. Have we had the turkey breast recipe before? Doesn't matter - it's still tasty fixed in the crock pot or the instant pot. No thanks to the drink and I'll turn down the red wine today. Our port of the day is Kushiro City, Japan which Rich posted last on November 18, 2022. I have not been to many Japanese ports and this is one I have not been to. Please go back using this link and repost your photos if you did it Nov. 18. We want our memories refreshed! I added a few things to the Care list today and we hope some will be coming down soon. Joy will have her oral surgery and hopefully she will heal quickly. Good luck Joy @Seasick Sailor! We'll be praying for each and every one of you. Cheers to everyone on the Celebration list. Have great cruises, too! DS, DGS Ren, his teammate Colton and his Dad are taking the boys to Dallas today for another look at the Dallas soccer team today. The boys will train with the team Tues, Wed., and Thursday and then they'll be home by Friday. School work is done while away online. The boys have been invited to several cities across the US to try out and are honored to get that privilege. Big decisions to be made soon for them. I'm rooting for them, and praying for the right decisions.⚽ Congrats to Kansas City and Philadelphia on their football teams winning yesterday. On to the Super Bowl! 🏈 Have a great day everyone! I'm 5 minutes late for my treadmill routine! 😄

  19. At least they have neighbors like you who want to help and are concerned. I'm sure they'll thank you when they get home.
  20. Debbie, ask me on the Zaandam this summer and I'll give you the whole story. I don't want to divulge some very bad behavior by the occupants on this platform. One is in prison right now! But we'd love to hear about the break in on Annie's street. Hopefully it's not another neighbor who did the break in.
  21. Like Debbie said...we NEED to know what's going on @marshhawk! You wouldn't believe what happened on my street about 3 years ago. It involved an armored SWAT vehicle ramming the front of a house and shots fired. Not kidding either.
  22. Praying they get things under control. I'm glad to hear you got to walk down the corridor with the PT because you're a big walker normally.
  23. Thanks Terri for that information. Sounds like a great way to spend winter days and staying out of your home while the contractors work. Thanks also to @aliaschieffor his Cancun time share dates.
