  1. You cannot smoke in spice h2o (or anywhere on ship) outside of designated smoking areas that are available based on ship. Floor plans for some ships have been provided. have a nice vacation.
  2. I do like the Getaway! I am doing the Prima for the first time in April, going thru NYC, so looking forward to my status finally getting me something, lol.
  3. They kinda did. That "retiree" cruise that was three years long. It never got off the ground, but your cabin was available to "rent" if you took a leave from the boat for whatever reason.
  4. I was agreeing with you. I don’t think the person you were responding too would understand.
  5. Hmmm. That’s understandable. I just don’t know where you would get that
  6. I don’t think this logic will have much pull with smokers. They are under the impression that air cannot travel from one place to another. My mom is a smoker. She honestly does not think her car, clothes and house stink of smoke. We pulled a heavy clock off her wall a few years back to repair it. The wall was stark white behind it, surrounded by yellow. She insists that’s not nicotine stains in the wall. It’s not nicotine stains on her appliance or teeth. She just thinks people make that up to pick on smokers.
  7. I will defer to you, it’s been about a year for me in that terminal. This is welcome news.
  8. Glass house or not, I’m not buying your knife set. I don’t care if it can cut thru a can.
  9. This is highly dependent on port. NYC doesn’t have separate areas for every latitude level.
  10. I’ll tell a smoker to their face. They chose a nasty habit. I don’t have to pretend that it’s not gross. Ditto for people that chew tobacco, stink of weed, or get drunk and puke everywhere.
  11. Sometimes I will be on a cruise and see some extremely trashy behavior. And I will say to myself “what are these people thinking!!??” Then I read cruise critic and go “oh.” The venn diagram of people who think it’s ok not to tip, to hog chairs, to smoke on their balconies, to bring illegal drugs on board, and to push their way onto elevators would be a circle. And now a new behavior that would not have occurred to me in a million years. “Why shouldn’t I force my child to set up a booth in peoples vacations and hock cookies?” And Half the board thinks it’s brilliant. Forced Amway presentations are next! This isn’t your vacation, it’s theirs!
  12. That seems like a stressful way to end your vacation. What a waste of a good time! Getting off the ship will take a while, everyone will be competing for cabs, you will be running the whole time. You can't make this flight, I am sorry. Enjoy your vacation.
  13. It depends on the port you are sailing out of. In NYC, you show up, and there are two lines. The check in line where you show your documents and get your key card, and then the line to get on the boat. Haven members in NYC will get shunted off to a smaller private room where they will board the boat first. Everyone else is in a different room and you find a seat. When you get your keycard and you move to the waiting area, you are usually given a boarding placard with a number. The earlier you show up, the lower the number you get. Typically, after Haven boards, they will call people that need special help boarding, and then they call by Latitude level (this can be reversed sometimes). Once priority boarding happens, They then call out numbers and people board based on the number on their placard. I have sailed out of NYC 9 times. Depending on the day, you will have a wildly different experience. Sapphire is not the highest Latitudes level, but usually they are called with Diamond, I honestly don't recall ever seeing an Ambassador. Then they call Platinum. Then usually Gold and Silver and Bronze. In NYC, the later you get there, the more the waiting room fills up and seats are hard to find. But usually you can find something. Showing up earlier does not lessen your wait time. The boat has to empty before you can get on. When I sailed out of Vancouver it was a vastly different experience. They had that down like clockwork. So YMMV. Enjoy your cruise.
  14. It would help if you posted the deal you are wondering about? What cabin type are you booking, are you getting any of the extras..etc etc. You haven't shared enough info.
  15. Ill take your word for it, it has been to long. I just know I spent time in the arcade and did not buy a weekly pass.
  16. I know they meant the arcade, but are you sure there is not an hourly pass? I remember going in for just an hour. The NCL website also does show a daily rate. https://www.ncl.com/onboard-packages/arcade-package as do several threads here on cruise critic.
  17. According to their website. Cruise Terminal 10 Cruise Terminal 10 is primarily utilized by Norwegian Cruise Line's ships. The Escape currently sails from this terminal. The Getaway will begin sailing from this terminal in April of 2023 and the Jade and Epic will join them in 2024.
  18. I am pretty sure it's whatever card you put the reservation on, do you remember that? If not, message NCL? I have found their online messaging to be super quick, and a lot easier than calling. Good luck with your bid!
  19. Honestly, I would just bring your own snorkel and do your own exploring.
  20. You can buy an hourly pass, if I recall. I would do that and see if it works for you. I like games, but I didn't find the arcade enjoyable enough to pay for a week there. YMMV. It's not like the games we had when we were kids, it's mostly VR stuff. You won't find Ms Pacman there.
  21. "Enclosed" smoking areas on decks are usually slatted so air can get thru....It absolutely stinks. Who even smokes anymore?
  22. The numbers don't lie! Regardless of what the unhappy posters on Cruise Critic my insist.
