  1. This simply isn't so. John Heald says if you want twice a day service ask and you shall receive. Our card last week was printed with the word "Both" right on there.

Yet you have two separate cruisers from two separate ships telling you they did NOT get an option for twice a day. Who do you believe?

  2. Other than bringing additional towels (if needed) or re-filling an ice bucket, are you folks that messy that your room REALLY requires a second cleaning 8 hours after the morning cleaning ?

IMHO, this is just one more trivial thing folks grouse about that really is insignificant.

Just because it is not important to you does not mean others do not value that service. I'm sure there are plenty of things you feel are important that others would prefer to do without. Nice addition to the thread.

  3. My expectations were pretty low, but somehow Carnival still under-delivered. Why oh why was there a 2 month build up to this?

    Well said :)

I am still going to book suites, but it's for the extra square feet...as plats we already get the perks.

  4. Boarding Glory in Miami on August 29th was very similar. The "Captain's Lounge" was full of Diamonds, Plats, and FTTF. They came in and called the whole room at one time. It wasn't that bad as we were still among the first on board, but not the orderly process that some ports have. I had a funship special by 11:45am. :)

  5. It was free for my wife when we sailed on Celebrity last fall. Of course that cruise was more expensive than most of the Carnival cruises we have taken, so it wasn't really free. It seems that perhaps the RCL lines offer it for free? Not sure. I know we paid about $3 a bottle on Carnival in April. While it is only about $0.88 a bottle at Walmart, I am willing to pay $3-4 not to have to lug it on to the ship.

We had a real ordeal getting it on the Paradise. Called when we were on board and were told they didn't have any. That wouldn't be an option. My wife uses it for a NediPot, not for CPAP. So we aren't taking a chance with tap water that could also be using local port water. Dangerous stuff in there when using a NediPot. When the first person said they had none on the ship, we called back and got someone else on the phone who had it delivered rather quickly. So the same goes on the ship as it does when you call regular customer service on land.

Exactly my point. You don't want to take a chance on tap water, but you want something for free that anyone (3k+ passengers) can request at any time? Make it $3 and the demand will drop, and your wife will get her distilled water every time.
