The current platinum gift on Glory is the journal. It is actually quite nice!:)

The unknown morning one is Guava/Mango/Orange...not bad with BV Vodka, but to be honest i preferred regular orange. After 12pm they change to lemonade and ice tea.

Just off the Glory 8/29-9/5.
This was my 12th Carnival cruise, and we have had some really good Cruise Directors (and some not so good, looking at you Jacques), but I have never experienced a cruise that was enhanced so much by the CD. Mike was everywhere getting involved with everything. After every show he moved the group to the main lobby and continued the party for up to 2 hours. It was truly incredible, and the most fun we have had in all our time cruising.
If you have the chance to cruise with Mike Pack, do not miss it!!:D

Just got off Glory, no problem taking on small USB powered fan.

Breeze, Fascination, Valor Itinerary changes:
Update #3 - 8/28/2015 - 8:00 PM
At Carnival, the safety of our guests and crew is our number one concern. Rest assured, our ships will be operating at a safe distance from Tropical Storm Erika.
Due to the forecasted path of the storm, we are forced to modify the below itineraries for the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Fascination, and Carnival Valor departing on Saturday, August 29th.
Carnival Breeze departing from PortMiami will now call on Grand Cayman on Monday, Mahogany Bay, Roatan on Wednesday, Costa Maya on Thursday and Cozumel on Friday. Please keep in mind terminal doors will close at 3:30PM and any guests arriving after this time will not be able to board. The ship will sail shortly thereafter.
Carnival Fascination departing from Jacksonville will not be able to call on Half Moon Cay. The ship will have an extended call in Nassau on Tuesday, September 1 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and then proceed to Freeport on Wednesday, September 2 from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Carnival Valor departing from Port Canaveral will not be able to call on Nassau. The ship will have an extended call in St. Thomas on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the remainder of her itinerary as scheduled.
Carnival Glory guests sailing from Miami should keep in mind terminal doors will close at 3:30PM and any guests arriving after this time will not be able to board. The ship will sail shortly thereafter. Her itinerary remains as scheduled.
At this time, no other changes have been made to any other sailings this weekend. We will continue to keep you informed should there be any further updates. We sincerely apologize for these changes and trust you understand they are done to ensure your safety and comfort. We look forward to welcoming our guests on board.

Yes it seems some people are assuming this is an organized storm...and it might become that...but as it stands right now there is a good possibility there will not be anything to make "landfall"...may just be another band of thunderstorms by then. I am much more optimistic about Florida on Monday than I was 2 days ago. As always, this could change and it could turn into a Cat 3 or something...just very unlikely.

Hi Sweetpea :)
I use Goccl. When in Google you can Goccl search so many Carnival things.

Wow thanks for posting those ship links!:D

The guys at Weather Channel are trying desperately to magically transform Erika from a weak tropical storm with bleak prospects into a ratings-generating storm, but it just isn't working
It is almost funny to watch them this morning. There definitely is a chance it could happen, but it looks like this will not be too much trouble in the end.:)

I'm on the breeze that does southern itinerary on Saturday. I'm hoping/guessing that we will be OK leaving Miami on Saturday but maybe they will change the order of ports? Supposed to be grand Turk, Dominican republic, Curacao, Aruba......
The Saturday departures should be ok (and I will be on one of those ships!), but I am nervous for the people leaving on Monday. Not sure about your ports though.:o
-
Ok, ive been looking over the models and European models too and Erika can't seem get organized. lots of westerly wind shear aloft high up blowing cloud tops off to the east. Why they think Erika will reach Hurricane strength and stay a hurricane up to just before Florida coast I just don't see it. ...
The NOAA Wendesday 5pm statement update seems to agree with you. While it technically still shows a potential hurricane hitting FL on Monday, they say there is a real possibility that it might break up over the next couple of days just like Danny. Hoping for that! :)

It is easier for me to just email guestadmin@carnival.com a pdf of my statement. They respond within a day or two and it is done, no paperwork or faxing:D

What time Thursday? Looks like it might be tough getting a plane to land during a tropical storm :(
-
For the OP at 2 days out, could it be port fee adjustments? Did they change your schedule due to the tropical storm?
-
I leave on Saturday too, but heading south. Not terribly worried at this point, but still wary.
Here is info, it is sometimes fun to have these as time passes...

Conquest doesn't have a "serenity deck".
Haven't sailed Conquest, but Glory DOES have a serenity deck, and OP asked about BOTH ships.
-
-
up on the serenity deck might be nice:)

They stated the new policy was to destroy any alcohol found in checked bags, as was written in our letter.
That was a very expensive mistake :(
Wow this is a significant change in policy! What ship were you on? Wonder if anyone else has had this happen to them or a "friend" on other ships?
Sorry you lost your nice wine :(

Unfortunately, most of the things for sale in the shops is "made in china" crap:( There are a few exceptions as noted by a few posters, but generally things are way overpriced and you will do better on land.

Thx everyone for your feedback. RJay what quality aspects would you like to see improved?
It seems the food quality has gone down a bit in the main dining room, that is my biggest concern. There are other changes that have happened recently as well, such as Golds being un-invited to the past guest party, less perks for return customers, etc.

I'm confused, I thought they really locked your access down to a few apps while using the cheapest internet option? Is there a way to call someone on the phone using facebook that is not blocked? If so, i bet they will plug that leak soon:mad:

I am cruising in 2 weeks in a balcony cabin at about the same price per night that I paid in 2002 for a Ocean view window. And people want more freebies and lower prices? Personally, I wish Carnival would RAISE the prices and bring back a little more quality.

Did you look under your "Manage My Cruise" details to see if it shows on your boarding pass/luggage tags?
I agree, this is one instance where I would trust the system over someone on the phone. If you go into your sailing and click on "view cruise documents" in the "to-do list" it should show the FTTF changes.

Another lesson here is do NOT try to take on any non-tobacco smoking products...you might spend your vacation in the pokey!
Earliest Flight Suggestion
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
As a frequent flyer and regular cruiser, I agree with others that 10:45am is too early by about an hour. Yes you might make it to FLL on time, but it is not worth the stress. Please remember that flights begin boarding 30 minutes before the flight time, and they close the doors 10 minutes prior.
The earliest I would ever consider is 11:30am for a FLL flight after a Miami docking.
