  1. Then I guess you will not be sailing on the Sun Princess.
  2. 17 years ago on the Glory. Much has changed since then.
  3. Have never done laundry on 45 cruises. The longest we have done is 14 days, but if we ever did 20+ days, I believe that some laundry would need to be done.
  4. Sail on one of the Excel Class ships from Carnival when the kids are in school. They really upped their game and it's nothing like the rest of the fleet. Spent two weeks on the Discovery in April and had a great time, just like our four weeks spent this year on the Mardi Gras.
  5. A single Carnival cruise with a bad experience obviously does not signal that this happens 100% of the time. But there are many who will believe second hand information and run with it. It really does not matter too much, many people already have their preconceived ideas regarding Carnival and reading a few posts on here is not going to change their minds. Similar to only blue hairs sail on HAL and you need to maneuver the walkers, wheelchairs and scooters.
  6. Glad to see you enjoyed the Vista Class. Book a sailing on the Excel Class and you'll see an even better Carnival. The Mardi Gras is currently out of Port Canaveral, the Celebration starts in November from Miami and the Jubilee starts in November of 2023 from Galveston.
  7. Sensationalism personified. The occasional fight on a cruise line that is three times the size of Princess does not happen as often as you assume it does. Is it bad at times, sure, but the odds of it happening on your specific cruise and then where you're located is slim.
  8. You obviously have not cruised on the last six builds on Carnival starting with the Breeze. Subdued color palette. It's not the Joe Farcus designed Carnival with the Pepto Bismol color scheme. The Excel Class of Carnival will be very similar to the upcoming Sun Class on Princess.
  9. On the Horizon, both Jiji's as well as Cucina are sit down options for lunch. You check in and then you're seated. You get your paper menu and pencil ✏️ and then you check off your choices and give it to your waiter/waitress. In and out in maybe 40 minutes. Then go down one level for the gelato or cake 🍰 for dessert.
  10. Totally comparing apples and oranges. The Havana area on the three Vista Class ships was the best thing that Carnival had come up with for years. Good size pool, two hot tubs, two tiki huts, lots of padded loungers and the back section of deck five with a beautiful wake view. Now, on the Excel Class it was an afterthought. It's on the starboard side of deck 8 just forward of mid ship. It has a postage sized pool, no hot tubs, no tiki huts, no wake view. Only you can decide if the price difference is worth it to you.
  11. And you get three 1.5 oz pours per person per day over a seven day cruise between the two of you with your liter bottles of Goose and Jack. You can enjoy them in your cabin or in a Yeti on deck. It's basically the equivalent of two drinks at Alchemy per day per person.
  12. There is only 1 lone HC cabin in the Haven, cabin 10954. On the entire ship, there are 18 different categories of cabins yet only 4 of the categories have HC cabins. Besides the lone Haven cabin mentioned, there are 17 inside, 7 OV and 16 balcony HC possibilities.
  13. Three times on Escape and once on the Bliss our late night snacks were always at the Local or O'Sheehans, usually for the wings.
  14. Absolutely stunning on the Mardi Gras. Did a B2B in February and again in August/September. Before cruising on the Sun in late 2024, we have 5 weeks reserved on the Celebration, the new version of the Mardi Gras based out of Miami with a few "tweaks".
  15. Regarding eating at Onda using one of your dining vouchers.....what were you allowed to order? Were the pasta dishes considered a substitute for your main entree or could you order both? Or could you order an app, a pasta, an entree, a side and a dessert? Thanks.
  16. The OP wanted to know about information regarding checking in on the MG and I just confirmed what had happened to us in Feb and again in August. Obviously there are going to be employees that are totally clueless about the proper procedures. If you happen to run into one I would ask to speak to a supervisor if I had paid for a suite and was denied the priorities I was entitled to.
  17. Not too much out of PR now besides Disney. RCI's Jewel of the Seas will be doing a 7 day with 5 ports and the new NCL Viva will be doing a 7 day with 6 ports and zero sea days. Both go to Barbados as their southern most port stop. Time frame is Nov 23 to March 24. Anybodies guess as to whether Carnival will ever home port there again or not.

  19. I use tap water at home, so I use tap water on board. Not ruining my machine at all. Get a new one every few years from insurance and get a new chamber and heated tube every 6 months. Not going to go through the hassle and expense of buying distilled water at home.
  20. You're right. Spent four weeks this year on the Mardi Gras and Lido is 16 on her. But, the stir fry is at Jiji's and Cucina is across the hall from it one deck up.
  21. How about an eight day on the Celebration visiting the ABC's out of Miami with two sea days on the front and back end that does exist? 9/9/23.
  22. This box is not from the Horizon. They don't have a Mongolian wok or pasta bar on deck 11, just like the Lido is not on 10. Lido is 16 and Jiji's and Cucina is on 17.
  23. Easy. Deck 17. Either Cucina del Capitano or Jiji's. Both are fairly quick sit down options with Italian or Asian stir fry. You choose your noodle or pasta, your protein, your sauce and your veggies. Then go downstairs to the Lido for the gelato.
