  1. No, so go basic, save 60 a day, save another 16 a day by removing your tips. Then you'll save money by spending less than 76 a day on a la carte drinks & wifi.
  2. But those who are teetotalers and those who only cruise on Princess are possibly oblivious to the fact the Plus package @ 60 per day is the best value in the entire cruise industry for anyone looking for a close to all inclusive experience. The 60 gives you drinks, wifi and grats all wrapped up together. On other lines if packaged together like Celebrity and if purchased a la carte on the other lines, it's substantially more than 60 bucks. On some Royal sailings it could be close to double that price. The reason that the packages are increasing in price is because those cruisers that are looking for value still realize that it's a value purchase at 60. On other lines you can't get the drink package with the drink package tips for 60 a day.
  3. Try the Prima Class. We were on her for 3 sailings totalling 25 days. The Indulge Food Hall is a step above.
  4. But your statement about "subsidizing others intoxication" was where I wanted a little further explanation from you.
  5. Yep, Princess uses Brooklyn according to their website. We have 14 day repositioning cruises lined up in August of 2024 and August of 2025 on the Enchanted that goes from Fort Lauderdale to NYC. Stops at Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Barbados, Dominica, St. Maarten, San Juan, with 6 sea days. Since we'll be using Uber or Lyft to get home, the parking situation won't effect us. But, the cruise after ours goes to New England and Canada for a week.
  6. It's all about the bottom line. There are costs involved to have all of those perks delivered to your cabin on the first day and then the strawberries midway through your cruise and have your cabin steward do cleaning twice a day. So the bean counters said, let's cut cleaning down to once a day and force the cruisers to pick up their perks and order their own strawberries. There will be cost savings for us with labor as well as the percentage of cruisers that don't pick up their pins, gifts, bottle of water, etc. It all adds to the bottom line as we bled billions during the shutdown.
  7. Doesn't interest me, but if you were to compare an apple to an apple, I would still think that Oceania would be a premium cost.
  8. They currently have wait times of about an hour on busy sea days for lunch. It certainly couldn't be longer than that since now it's no longer free.
  9. But if the rations are considered casual dining, then we only get the rations twice, whether we're at sea for 7 days or 14.
  10. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I could have sworn I read that if standard fare cruisers pay the 15 for Ocean now as long as they order room service without using their cabin phone it's free. Doesn't apply to us either way since we never use room service and used Ocean Now once to get club sandwiches at 1030 at Good Spirits on the Discovery. EDIT...Yup, last sentence of the posting in 989 confirms that the 15 covers room service charges if ordered through the app.
  11. When I saw the menu pdf earlier this evening, my cell phone would not download it, but I can see it now that I'm on our PC. Not really thrilled with the fact that a pizza or the calzone is 12 bucks. The apps and the desserts are nothing to get thrilled about. If we were able to order a calzone and a pizza and pay the 9 bucks price difference over the 15, that would be slightly palatable, but still leave a queasy feeling knowing that we had enjoyed these items as much as we wanted on our previous 28 days sailing on Princess.
  12. There are a plethora of non alcoholic choices as part of the Plus package. But more importantly, how does the fact whether you purchase the package or not have to do with any other cruiser on board and whether they consume alcoholic beverages or if they are a card carrying, flag waving teetotaler like yourself?
  13. Our hardsided luggage got soaked. Have never gotten clothes wet before using hard side. Must have been sitting in a deep puddle.
  14. You're hesitant to pay 44 a day for drinks and wifi, yet you'll contemplate upgrading to Oceania. 🤔
  15. Carnival offers MDR breakfast on port days and sea day brunch that goes to noon on sea days. But Princess only offers MDR lunch on sea days, not port days. Carnival doesn't offer MDR lunch on port days either.
  16. Nobody is twisting your arm regarding buying one of the packages. If you can't drink 26.00 worth of drinks, soda, coffee and bottled water, there's nothing wrong with that. If you need to have stuff delivered to you, then you'll pay an extra 15.00 for that to happen. But since you're not getting a drink package, do you really need to have a club sandwich delivered at 930 while you're at MUTS? You have the option to go bare bones on Princess just like you do on Celebrity, HAL, RCI, NCL, MSC and Carnival.
  17. Why assume that. The 3 courses a la carte would be 20 and would now be 15 as the 3 course prix fix.
  18. You can always walk away from Princess and spend your vacation dollars elsewhere.
