  1. Obviously it is what it is, and of course value is perceived via the end result of the perk. Since you can no longer get the coffee trade out, that perk is low on the totem pole for you. I will assume the set up is a handful of airline alcohol bottles with mixers and soda. When we're finally eligible the value to us will be what is initially given and what can they be swapped for. This dilemma for us is 29 months in the future. A lot can change between then and now.
  2. It's through Capital One shopping if you have a Capital One credit card.
  3. I have it on my PC, but could not see where the $5.00 savings bonus came up.
  4. Will be on 13 on our 14 day repo cruise in August of 2025 on the Enchanted from FLL to Brooklyn. 14 & 15 will be in November of 2025 on either the Sun or the Star and 16 will probably be in January of 2026 once again on either the Sun or the Star. Obviously don't know the itineraries, but I assume one ship will do 7/14 and the other 10/20 both based out of FLL, but only the powers that be know the answer.
  5. Thank you. So, we should reach it in January of 2026 on the Sun or Star.
  6. Do Elite benefits kick in on your 16th cruise, similar to NCL and RCI or on your 15th cruise, similar to Carnival? Currently have 4 under our belts and an additional 9 booked over the next 2 years.
  7. The Edge Class ships of Celebrity (Edge, Apex, Beyond, Ascent) all have 4 MDR's, each with their own specialty menu, along with the daily menu that is the same in all 4 venues and rotates daily and the always available menu that is available in all four venues each day.
  8. So what. Last week 15 K in purchases would cost 13.5K, now it's costing me 13.8K. We're just starting a major uptick with cruising on Princess and it stinks that it's only a 8% savings when all of the other lines are still @ 10%. Currently have 71 future nights booked over the next two years. I appreciate the savings, combined with the stock OBC, but with the new casual dining restrictions, that's two negatives within the week.
  9. I have capital one shopping installed on my PC and my primary card is capital one that I use for practically all of my purchases. Can't find out how to get that $5.00 savings. Kind of upset about the reduction from 10% to 8%. Currently have a few thousand in gift cards, but need another 15K. That 2% reduction just cost me $300.00.
  10. The Princess cards have the same limitations as those associated with Carnival and HAL, which is basically none. You can use it for all costs associated with your cruise, deposit, final payment, excursions, on board charges, excursions and with Princess, EZ Air. With Celebrity, you can use it for front end stuff only for a maximum of 1000 per cabin, initial deposit and other monies up to the 1000/cabin ceiling. RCI cards have too many restrictions.
  11. Is that a 5.00 reward for a single card purchase as well as numerous cards? Meaning is it a one time thing or could you buy 20 gift cards and get 5.00 per? Thanks
  12. We will continue to get the Plus package for each of our cruises. We have loved our previous cruises of 14 days on the Discovery in 2022 and 14 days on the Majestic this year. We paid 40 pppd for the Plus package. Currently have 28 days booked on the Enchanted and 28 days booked on the Sun, all with the Plus package at 60 pppd. After factoring out the 16 for grats, the remaining 44 pppd is cheaper than any other competing cruise lines drink package and then the wifi becomes gravy. Am perturbed about the changes with Alfredo's, but we will make do. It really should not be two visits per cruise, it should be two per every 7 days. Those that book 14+ day cruises are discriminated against.
  13. The Carnival cards as well as the Princess cards on the AARP site can be used for everything that is cruise related. Deposit, final payment, excursions, drink packages (Cheers on Carnival, Plus/Premier packages on Princess) even EZ Air on Princess. I will assume, but do not have first hand experience that the same holds true with the Holland America cards that are also available on the AARP site. I will make this assumption since they are all part of the Carnival family. RCI and Celebrity cards have more restrictions. The Celebrity cards can be used for a maximum of $1000.00 per cabin on new bookings only, so they have to be used with your initial deposit. RCI has even more loop holes to jump through so I don't bother with them.
  14. Guess I'll have to figure out which sweepstakes to pile my 796K points into.
  15. We ate at Teppanyaki in September of 2022 on the Mardi Gras and were charged the 18% gratuity.
  16. As usual, things are different across the pond. The only time the grats are included is if you purchase a package on Celebrity or Princess. On any of the basic lines, MSC, Carnival, NCL or RCI, you always need to pay the grats a la carte.
  17. I was responding to a post about plus purchases early vs late. But thanks for taking a single line out of context and spin doctoring it to prove your point. Everybody no longer gets Alfredo's for free whether they have a package or not. Package members get two per cruise, whether it's 7 days or 30 days long.
  18. Not necessarily. On our recent Majestic cruise, we got charged the 10.00 even though we had the plus package. I reported it to guest services and midway through our cruise, the 10.00 was given back as refundable OBC. On our final check out bill that was emailed to me, the credit had disappeared. We've been home for 7 weeks and we're still patiently waiting for our refund check of refundable OBC of over 300.00.
  19. Yes, if two people eat their own pizza, it will now cost them 24.00 when previously it was free. Don't know about tips since we never ate in a casual dining place on the Discovery or the Majestic.
  20. I am just reporting from my first hand knowledge that my DH and myself ordered multiple cans of Coke Zero or Sprite Zero on a daily basis in the MDR or Alfredo's. We would also get a can from Good Spirits to take back to the cabin. The only loophole I can think of is that Coke Zero and Sprite Zero were not available on the gun as a fountain option and that is why we were not charged for them in the can.
  21. Yes, should be able to with no problem. Nothing was mentioned on the pdf files of the new menus about there being a sharing charge. If you don't have the package, it will cost you 5.00 for the salad and 12 for the pizza for a total of 17, but since you get three courses for 15, that is what you would pay and you have the option to eat the included dessert or not order it.
  22. It was reported earlier in the thread that about 75% of the passengers purchase either the plus or the premier package. So, that means that only 25% are standard cruisers that would have the option of paying the $15.00 for Ocean now. If there are 4000 passengers on the ship, only 1000 would have the option to buy the Ocean now activation. Not everyone needs to get room service or have a drink delivered to them and the purchase is 100% optional, so basically it's less than a 1000 people that may have to pay the 15.00. Maybe 600 and that estimate could be high. If people are frugal and don't want to purchase a package that 75% of the cruisers buy, what makes you think they'll fork over another 15.00. Many are going to remove 112 in tips to make their overall cost cheaper.
