  1. No, you could spend 15.00 if you wish to get an app, entree, dessert combination. You're entirely able to purchase any a la carte items which would of course be less than the 15.00. For example, a pizza could be 8 bucks. Since menus and prices have not been disclosed, it's purely speculative, but it could cost you less than 15.
  2. Taking money out of the pockets of employees will sure make management stand up, realize why you're doing what you're doing and take an about face with their newly implemented policy. 🤔🤔🤔
  3. Obviously we are not you. The new menu with prices has not been divulged yet. My DH loves the calzones and half a pizza for lunch is enough for me. Without knowing specifics as to what individual items cost as well as the 3 course options, it's all speculation at this point. The biggest hassle is getting 2 per cruise when it should be 2 per week. Those on 14 day cruises get the shaft. We currently have 3 of them booked as well as a 7 day B2B.
  4. I can tell you from firsthand experience that unless you want to go to a show, you literally can stay in the YC enclave the whole day. The pool area, pool side mini buffet, dedicated MDR, top sail lounge are all yours to explore. Good luck on the YC in the Meraviglia.
  5. We're late to the Princess table, but have at least 7 times each on Celebrity, NCL and RCI as well as 25 on Carnival. The Plus package is the best value out there as far as we're concerned. It was unbelievably great at 40 and still provides great value at 60. The drink package on the other cruise lines are more than 60 a day and with Princess you get the tips and wifi included. Now, the reduction in times that we can go to Alfredo's/Gigi's (2 per sailing) is what is really stuck in my crawl.
  6. Congrats on your DH reaching his 25th official cruise on Carnival, which is the first milestone level. Just to let you know, you're not forced to use the discount on your next cruise. It can be on any future cruise of your choice. It will consist of 25% of the base cruise price on your DH's fare, not both, before taxes given as OBC. So, if you paid say 1000 before taxes, you would get 250.00 as OBC. The more expensive your cabin, the more OBC.
  7. Not all of the menus that you see online are still valid. The G&T menu has changed, there was also a smoked cocktail menu that has been totally eliminated. Well liquor only comes into place if you have the Easy package or if your clueless and have the Easy Plus package and just order a screwdriver instead of a Tito's and OJ. If you order a screw driver or any other drink without specifying your alcohol brand, you will get bar liquor, which was Skol vodka, Skol rum and other rotgut. It costs 20.00 a day to upgrade from Easy Plus to Premium ahead of your cruise. In order to make it worthwhile, you would need to drink 7 of those 13.00 drinks everyday and your drink choice would be limited to those 7 drinks or a la carte options that are over the 10.00 Easy Plus limit, like having Grey Goose instead of Tito's. Or Zacapa 23 rum instead of Myers.
  8. But those grab n go options on the outside edge of the buffet adjacent to the pool are the same grab n go options that are available inside at the buffet. There are no totally different places like the half dozen I mentioned that are available on Carnival. MSC is for those that like to cruise European style, those that like to cruise on the cheap, even substantially cheaper than Carnival many times and those that like to cruise at the opposite end of the spectrum in the YC. They will grab those cruisers that are disgruntled with their normal cruise line of choice and get them to flip, but after giving them two tries over five years, we're done.
  9. We just got off the same ship this past Sunday and we have decided that MSC is permanently in our rear view mirror.
  10. That phrase was in the back of my memory for some reason. Went to college outside of Pittsburgh. They were of course sunny side up eggs that I dipped the pumpernickel bread into.
  11. I also have 4 different other 7 day reservations on the Celebration. Two in September and another two in January. Have never even gotten a sniff of a 500 OBC offer. But then again, 90% of the time we stay in inside cabins, but that 5 day we did stay in an aft balcony cabin for the first and last time.
  12. Out of all the cruises we have currently booked, the two 14 day B2B's on the Celebration, the 18 day B2B on the Beyond and our two 14 day B2B's on the Sun Princess next year and 01/2025 are the ones we're looking forward to the most.
  13. That was target marketing. We booked a 5 day Celebration cruise for this past January during the second week that bookings opened up and we never got anything special. The best we ever got was an OV8 rate that got us 200 in OBC.
  14. Appreciate it. Covid caused my DH to retire prematurely. Luckily he was able to collect unemployment with two extensions from NJ as well as the federal monies that were distributed at times. So, while we still have our heath, we cruise, even though it's difficult at times with me in a scooter. Not as often as some on here, but more often than most. 86 nights this year, 66 in 2024 and probably 63 in 2025.
  15. Not everybody cruises for the ports. When you have cruised the Caribbean over 40 times, the ship is usually the destination and you may only get off one day for a couple of hours or possibly not at all. But I will agree with you that the Dynamic Pricing policy of RCI is ridiculous.
  16. And the same holds true for those that paid the extra 60 a day for Plus. We now get to go to Gigi's/Alfredos a total of two times per 7 day as well as two times per 14 day cruise. Since we would maybe go four times per week, that's an extra 60 bucks on the 7 day and 180 on the 14 day. So, since we currently have 2 7's and 3 14's booked, that's an extra 660.00 into Princess's coffers.
  17. For those standard cruisers, there are two charges. One is a one time 15.00 charge good for the length of your cruise to have drinks, snacks, etc delivered to wherever you are except your cabinvia your app and through your medallion. If you wish to utilize room service and have room service items delivered to your cabin, each time you do this there will be a 5.00 charge.
  18. On the Discovery, the pizza in Gigi's was made in a brick pizza oven as well as the even better calzones and was really good. Tried the stuff up on Lido at Slice once and thought it was nasty. I will assume it was made in an old fashioned pizza oven similar to what many pizza places use.
  19. Less included food options on Carnival? Guy's burgers, Shaq's Big Chicken, Blue Iguana Cantina, the Deli, Pizza Pirate, Guy's Pig n Anchor BBQ, Chibang, Street Eats, Captains Pasta Bar at Cucina del Capitano, Java Blue Cafe take away. There's a list of 10 free included food options, all available for lunch and 3 available for breakfast. Carnival has more included food options than any other cruise line sailing.
  20. We are booked on a 14 day repo cruise in August of 2025 on the Enchanted from FLL to Brooklyn, got the Plus @ 60 pppd. Booked it a few weeks ago.
  21. I just assumed that you sent this from Australia.
  22. SMH......numerous people that have sailed on various Princess ships recently, including us that were on the Majestic for 14 days, paid 40 pppd for the Plus package and drank anything we wanted including all drinks at Good Spirits up to a value of $15.00. If you think that your TA, who is sitting behind a computer & possibly has never sailed Princess and is relying on second hand information is more correct than multitudes of posters that have said $15.00 dollar drinks are covered, then you deserve to have to pay the difference.
