  1. Can't see women trying to get beads in Fargo....a bit too nippy 🤣
  2. It's not the ship, it's the cabin. If you have a scooter, pick a HC cabin and you have all the room you need. If you sign up for your cruise at the last minute and all of the HC cabins are gone, then choose another date or choose another ship. With the Excel Class having 54 fully accessible cabins on board it should not be a problem getting one as long as you book far enough in advance.
  3. There are 54 fully accessible handicapped cabins on the ship. Since you were complaining about the space in your two balcony cabins and that the scooter barely got through the door, I will have to infer that you did not have a HC cabin. We did have a HC cabin on the Celebration as well as 4 different times on the Mardi Gras and had no problem whatsoever regarding space in the cabin.
  4. The Anthem is twice the size of the Enchantment, 167.8 vs 81, and is 18 years younger, 2015 vs 1997. If you like your ships smaller and older, it's the Enchantment. If you like them bigger and younger, it's the Anthem. I'd go with the latter, we'll be embarking on her on Sunday.
  5. I own my own scooter. This scooter was specifically designed for cruising. It folds down to 12 inches so that if you don't have a HC cabin, you can fold it down and keep it under the bed. The seat pops off and the rest folds up. Easy to fly with as well. The seat goes inside with you and the scooter goes down below as a gate check.
  6. That is the perfect reason to change your booking after receiving a FCC from Carnival if a HC cabin is needed and none are available. Having the space that a HC cabin provides makes it much easier to maneuver, especially with the walk in shower.
  7. The handicapped excel class cabins are not tiny at all. Does your father have a handicapped cabin reserved?
  8. There are 79 handicapped rooms on the ship. 25 Ambulatory and 54 Fully Accessible.
  9. Which is technically illegal and against the rules, but as usual not enforced by Carnival. People with scooters should always rent a handicapped room. If it's closer to the sailing date, they can contact the special needs department and if there are any non HC people in a HC cabin they will be moved. Life is a whole lot easier if you have the room in the cabin to maneuver and at the same time charge it legally overnight in your cabin.
  10. We also have an annual medical policy, so we don't have individual CFAR or similar per cruise policies.
  11. Totally agree. We were on the Discovery for 14 days last April and loved Alfredo's and did not like the Lido slice place at all.
  12. The booking was directly through Princess and then I transferred the booking to my travel agent. You can use your gift cards for any purchases on board including gratuities if you don't have the plus package. You can also use them for any purchases before you sail such as excursions or specialty dining.
  13. Was this done directly through Princess or through an outside travel agency? Also, when was your sailing booked and when are you sailing? I will have to infer that it was from an outside agency that gave you the free upgrade in lieu of OBC or a discount. If it was from Princess, we would have gotten promotional emails about it.
  14. I certainly would not hold my breath waiting for this to possibly happen. No cruise line that offers a drink package has a two tiered system depending upon how much you indulge. It's a take it or leave it proposition. I can do with or without wifi. After factoring out the gratuities, 44 per day for just the drinks package is cheaper than what you can get on Celebrity, Carnival, Royal and NCL.
  15. 90% of the time, an inside. I usually prefer a discount instead of OBC. I had a TA that I used to give all of my business to, but he put the screws to me once and now I only give him my Carnival business because of his great rates with them. My recently booked Princess cruise which is 14 days in August of 2024 gained me 50 in OBC and just over 450 discount on 4900 including taxes. So saving just over 10% combined with saving another 10% with AARP gift cards is nice.
  16. MSC in Europe is totally different that MSC in the states. In Europe be prepared for announcements to be in multiple languages with English possibly last. The food also has a European twist to it, skewed towards pasta and fish.
  17. I think I would make more towards my discount or OBC from my TA if I paid everything up front at final payment then I would make by not ordering the plus package and paying for it on board. But as usual, you do you and I'll do me.
  18. The watermelon counterbalances the tequila. But it is a little spicy 🥵. I do like it with extra peppers. Looking forward to them for 14 days in Alaska on the Majestic at the end of May.
  19. NCL only includes 250 minutes, not unlimited. NCL also doesn't include tips.
  20. Yes, we did the YC back on the Seaside in January of 2018.
