Chops + 1 Not Available on Anthem Easter '24 Sail
CruizinSusan70 replied to nelblu's topic in Royal Caribbean International
As a value offering, I would look into booking either Chops or Jamie's for lunch. Got them for about 20 pp including gratuity for Chops and 17.50 pp including gratuity for Jamie's. They are open on embarkation and sea days. The menus delete some items comparing lunch and dinner, but at Chops, you can get jumbo shrimp cocktail, 8 oz filet, two sides and dessert. A great value for 20 including tip. -
Have done 25 on Carnival since 1986 and 8 on NCL since 2017, so if you have any questions, ask away.

Interesting, the only ship in the NCL fleet to do a one way to or from Hawaii is the Spirit, doing a one way from Honolulu to Vancouver. Their primary Hawaii ship is the Pride of America, which does roundtrip Hawaii cruises each week, starting and ending in Honolulu. The Spirit was built in 1999 and is about 75 K tons. The Pride was built in 2004 and 82 K tons. At one point NCL had three ships exclusively sailing in Hawaii, but was reduced to one many years ago. It's the only US flagged ship currently sailing so is primarily staffed by US citizens.

Currently sitting on close to 800,000 points. Have enough cards on hand to cover our two B2B's (29 days) on the Celebration in September and January. Will need more though to cover our 10 day Venezia cruise next May. Luckily I have time till I need to pull the trigger so I can be patient till the eCards get replenished.

Where to park at NY port for 10 days
CruizinSusan70 replied to daltonsmom1's topic in East Coast Departures
Would like to save money, but I travel with a scooter so that complicates things. We have a 7 day cruise out of Brooklyn in July, so we'll have to accept the 50% increase from 30 to 45 per day, so it'll be 315 for parking. On Memorial Day 2024, we have a 10 day cruise on the Venezia, so it's 450 at the Manhattan terminal plus toll or see what the cheapest option is between the two NJ hotels either booking it directly or through a third party. A car service from South Jersey would probably run at least 600 round trip. -

Once again, 450 at pier, 15 for toll is more expensive than the hotel package at 423. -

The OP is going on a 10 day NCL cruise, so parking at the port would be 450 plus the Lincoln toll puts it at 465. This would be more expensive than the Trinity option with hotel, parking and shuttle at 423. -
Hotel with parking and shuttle to Manhattan port
CruizinSusan70 replied to Mr and Mrs C's topic in East Coast Departures
Parking at the Manhattan cruise terminal is 45 per night, so if it's a 7 day cruise, that's 315. Plus you can add in the Lincoln Tunnel toll at 13.75. So if you can get the Stay, park and shuttle for around 350 at the hampton Inn, it's worth it for the extra 20 bucks. -
Thought that Robert Kraft said that two years ago when he was caught in the massage parlor.

Yes, I am a shareholder. And I hate it when the gamblers all brag about the great rates they get and the free drinks, etc. I've sailed on Carnival 25 times over 37 years and the only free thing I ever got was a free upgrade on the Spirit to a balcony. But then again, I don't make deposits in the casino. By your handle, you're obviously a gambler.

Venezia tips and must dos?
CruizinSusan70 replied to havanadaydreaming's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Guys will still be free. But, the TA is on May 29 and then over June, July and August there are 3 four day trips to Bermuda, 8 eight day trips to the Caribbean and 2 trips to Canada. -
Yes it certainly is. Similar to all of the bragging done by gamblers about the free or greatly reduced rates they get and then crying because they don't get the extra kicker of additional OBC on top of it.

SHOWS ON ANTHEM OF THE SEAS
CruizinSusan70 replied to vadersprincess12's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Just because it's complimentary doesn't necessarily imply that reservations are not needed. I will infer that it's free and reservations are indeed needed since many who have cruised on the Anthem have said so. I would believe first hand information from actual cruisers instead of information obtained from the Royal website, especially considering all of the recent mistakes they have made regarding the cost of certain items. -
Motor coaches of 50 versus a van of 12 versus a SUV of 2. Have utilized all three. Our preference is SUV, van, bus. We used the NCL bus to MIA off the Encore in January and it was a cluster the entire time, including getting dropped off at baggage claim and having to go through the entire airport to get to check in. One and done. We'll stick with Uber XL or Lyft XL.

Uber or Lyft eliminates this possibility.

Since the Windjammer is so great on the Anthem.....in the morning, do they have a station that does eggs to order? Such as over easy or an omelette. We were on the Oasis for 12 days last year and were extremely disappointed that they did not have such a station. Unlike our subsequent sailings on the NCL Prima, NCL Encore, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Mardi Gras.

Cover band on Anthem of the Seas?
CruizinSusan70 replied to Sun Lover's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We saw a Styx tribute band last summer on the Oasis. Great times. Looking forward to it on the Easter sailing of the Anthem. -
Regarding Music Hall...are the views better on the first floor or the second? Also, I'll be in a scooter if that matters. We enjoyed the second floor views on the Oasis last summer, but I know it varies from ship to ship.

You always need to pay port charges and taxes. Your 100 in OBC covers the 100 you were charged, so "they" would consider it a free cruise because the wash indicates that you paid zero, so this it is indeed a free cruise and you can use the OBC towards your gratuities. Unlike on NCL, where you can't. Do you really think you're entitled to an extra hundred in stock OBC on a cruise you paid zero for?
