  1. It's funny, I just scanned an article, a few days ago and the article said that "most" insurance companies classify vapers as smokers, many also classify chewing tobacco as smoking. That's not a medical classification, it's a financial one. But, my question really was more of a real medical one. Has any of the Heart and/or Lung organizations, FDA, or whatever classify vaping the same as smoking? I know that may not be able to answer that question. It's just a question in the far reaches of my mind. No big deal.
  2. I don't dispute that in concept, except that it's vapor not smoke. However, is that an "official" assessment or an opinion? No, that's not a wise guy question, I really would like to know, honest question. For the record, I don't smoke and never did or have vaped. I personally have never thought of a person that vapes as a smoker. Or a smoker as a vaper.
  3. Not that I know anything about Nick Weir and his patent. I think RCCL and others have been trying to come up with ways to streamline the Muster Station requirement for decades. I remember when everybody had to go out the the outside deck, next to their assigned lifeboat, wearing the life vest, in the hot/cold/whatever. Then they changed it to places like the main theatre listened to the CD or Captain and then watch a movie. And now, it's so much better than it was a while ago. But, I think they can still tweak it a little more and make it even better.
  4. I just want to be clear because you made it seem that I was willingly going to not follow a rule <which isn't>, on an invoice that isn't a regulatory document and doesn't use the regulating language.
  5. Yep, and that's what I was responding to the OP about, there are restrictions. The OP did ask about mixers. That's what I responded to. The use of my wife's experience was just supposed to be a word illustration of the restriction.
  6. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/generic-onboard-dress-code When you’re onboard, the right look will vary by venue. But here are a few types of suggested attire you’ll see, grouped by item. Casual: You’re on vacation – relax! Jeans, polos, sundresses and blouses are all the right amount of laid back. Please keep swimwear to the Pool Deck. Shorts are welcomed for breakfast and lunch. Smart Casual: Think of this as a step up from your typical dinner wear. Dress to impress with collared shirts, dresses, skirts and blouses, or pantsuits. Jackets, sports coats and blazers are snazzy and welcomed. Formal: Make it a night out in your best black-tie look – suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses or evening gowns. There can be 1-3 formal nights during a sailing and is at the ship’s discretion. Formal nights Think of our formal dress code as a night out in your best black-tie look — suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses or evening gowns are all acceptable options. Keep in mind that I was responding to a post that said that there was no longer a "Dress Code". My response was to inform that there is still a "Dress Code/Formal Night". However, it is only a SUGGESTION. On that I don't plan on adhering to as it is not a "RULE", just a suggestion. I really don't understand your pushback here. I think we are on the same side of the issue. I am a RULE follower. If they make it a rule to wear a suit or tux into the MDR, I'll follow it or not go there to eat. I'm telling you that I won't do a suit or tux, period. But, there is no "RULE" at present and hasn't been for quit some time now.
  7. I haven't done any suites other than RCCL's suites. 1 GS and several Star and a couple none suite class. I try to keep my loyalty with one cruise line. I don't like to dilute my perks/points by spreading them around with multiple lines. Having said that, we have checked and compared RCCL's suite classes with other cruise line suite classes. We find that FOR US, Star is what we want. My brother-in-law and his wife are always trying to get us to go with them on NCL's Haven class. We did a lot of research and found too many restrictions that actually keep you in the Haven. Examples: Free/included alcohol only while IN the haven, specialty restaurants not included, and at least one or two more things that I can't remember right now. I like to get out and mingle/mix. I understand that in the Haven that you can get just about anything that is offered at the Specialty restaurants. But, I want to go to them. DISCLAIMER: It's been a long while since I've checked out the other cruise lines suite class amenities and benefits. Can't say if things have changed or not.
  8. Yes, thank you. But, the bar and system can't make a frozen drink like a frozen Margarita. And mixers are limited to the none frozen kind and/or very think kind, like puree. The machines couldn't make them for my wife on a few cruises that we were on that had the Bionic Bar. We have yet to get a drink at the Bionic Bar. The wife likes Malibu Rum, Mango Puree, made frozen.
  9. I don't think that one actually has priority over the other, on paper. I just feel that Pinnacle is a much more proven repeat and loyal customer than MOST JSs are. And if I see Pinnacle cruisers going into the Coastal Kitchen for breakfast and/or Lunch and as a JS cruiser I try to follow them in and then I'm told I can't go in until Dinner and asked to leave (would that happen, has it happened, I don't know, but being that it is a rule, it could), I wouldn't feel like I'm in a priority over Pinnacle. I guess the real question is if a waiting list forms for the Coastal Kitchen one night, who are they going to call first, P or JS or just first come, first serve? That's where I would draw the distinction. Having said that, one could post the benefits of Pinnacle and say the same thing except they are not exempt from breakfast and lunch. Both require reservations for dinner. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf 12 On Oasis and Quantum Class ships (excluding Spectrum of the Seas ®), Pinnacle Club members are able to enjoy meals in Coastal Kitchen. However, reservations are required and can only be made with the Maître d’ once onboard. Access to Coastal Kitchen for Pinnacle Club members is based on space and availability and is assessed on a per sailing basis. Royal Caribbean reserves the right to limit or remove access to Coastal Kitchen at any time. AND, your cut and paste AND mine doesn't show proof of any priority. Just says both have access to the CK, but one can't come until dinner and only with reservations.
  10. I would think that the bar has a wide variety of alcohol and brands. I think the real questions is what is the availability of mixers (mango, strawberry puree, and such) and capabilities (like making a frozen Margarita, et al). But, if you are a Rum and Coke type of person, I'm sure there is something to meet your needs.
  11. I hope that you and everybody else noticed that I said, "I'd guess/think many JS customers are one and done". So, yes of course, there are many of you that swear by the JS. I had no intent nor did I show/type any animus towards those that like and repeat their choice of JSs.
  12. I agree with those that enjoy the smell of cigarette smoke, too. But, I'll not sink down into the giggle weeds to belittle someone that doesn't like or dislike what I do.
  13. I never said that I'd disobey the rules when they are rules. In fact, I've repeatedly said that, I'm a rule follower" However, I did say that I don't agree with some of what's on the invoice, doesn't mean that I will or will not obey what's on the invoice. I'm not making or using any argument. I just posted what was on my invoice. In that, their is a dress code or "formal night" as stated on the invoice, when someone said there isn't, there is a dress code but its only a suggestion, not a rule. I will never wear a suit & tie, or Tux in the MDR or any other venue on a vacation cruise, never. And that's not disobeying a rule.
  14. I'd like to see that. Do you have a link or web address for it? Not that it really matters.
  15. Like I said in a previous post that got deleted with some others, I don't cruise JS and I'm nowhere near P. And like you, I'm guessing/thinking that P would have priority because they have no time/meal restrictions, just require reservations/availability whereas JS are restricted to the dinner meal only and only with reservations/availability. My logic, P has proven to be a loyal/repeat customer, the kind of customer that any business would be looking to do what they can to have them come back. I'd guess/think many JS customers are one and done, at least one and done in a JR suite (yes, there are some that are loyal to the JSs), but P is proven to be loyal to the brand. As usual, I could be wrong. This is my opinion, it doesn't have to be anybody else's. I'm not trying to force anything on anybody. And this is a discussion board!
  16. @DaKahuna, for me, it's not about right or wrong, it's just a little humor. Thanks for the thought though.
  17. True. If all you are trying to do is eliminate the Voom from one of the "Deluxe Beverage Packages".
  18. Nope, I never did that as a kid, never knocked on doors in hotels either. And I can't believe anybody in here would do the same. Having said that, what goes around comes around. Just because I did it back in the day doesn't mean it is any less frustrating. But, when I catch kids doing it, and yes I have, I just laugh and tell them to enjoy the cruise.
  19. There are several websites dedicated to the seaweed forecast. Just type in the location and "XXXX Sargassum seaweed forecast"
  20. The link I had here originally was wrong.
  21. If you get the unlimited deluxe beverage package, technically, all 21 and over in the same cabin must purchase the package. However, there are many ways to get around that requirement. Religious exemption, health, one just doesn't drink, and probably a few others I can't think of right now. Just call and explain your lie.,.....,,, (just kidding) or I mean reason for not wanting a second purchase.
