  1. LOL, true! I'm just assuming that many of us in here were pre-watermark/VOID. LOL
  2. For some, going off the rail is an unforgivable sin.
  3. I believe, in general, the 90 day out mark is when things start populating in the Cruise Planner. Yes, some much earlier and some later. But, I wouldn't get too excited until then or a little after. I have very little confidence in Landside Operations but I believe they make things available in the cruise planner when they can, that's more of a hope and a prayer LOL.
  4. Good advice for sure. But, keep in mind that a Cruise Card will not be good enough to get on an Emergency Evac flight back to the U.S. Only a Passport Book is good for that. We always carry our Passport Book while in port. I don't want to trust that "someone" will contact the ship and a member of the crew retrieve our Passport Books and get them to us in the middle of Mexico somewhere. OR, contact an Embassy or Consulate for a Temp. or Emergency Passport. It's just toooooo easy to carry the Passport Book.
  5. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I totally enjoy many of the "sidebars" and disputes. In fact, some of the most energetic disagreements, that I participated in or not have been the most educational and entertaining, at least for me. I've had knock down and drag outs in social media sites and have later become very friendly with the very same people that I've had very vocal disagreements with, there is almost always common ground to bring people together. I for the most part can put aside disagreements and move on. The only ones I have a hard time forgiving and forgetting are those that have no appreciation for posts that are purely meant to help/assist.
  6. Which brings up a question, of course. Is there a place where we, the general public, can see the actual price (pre-discounts/reductions/whatever's/pre-ZIP code reductions/Pre-military/Pre-casino.................), the actual MSRP/list price of a cruise by ship, category of cabin? The price/fare shown includes the current (standard) discounts. But, where is the discount discounted from. Yes, I know and see that when you do a real or mock booking one can see that it says it is $XXX.XX off. But, again, $XXX.XX off of what? Did they raise the price to discount it?
  7. The document linked to, at the bottom of the first page does show the date of 12/16/22. And yes, RCCL's Landside operations sucks, big time. I'm not sure anybody actually proof reads their stuff before putting a new date on it, I'm skeptical if it is done by design or incompetence. Amazing. Oh, and I'm not talking about just this document, either. The FAQs are full of, at best, not enforced policies.
  8. Yep. And depending on the training and policy, even if the operator doesn't have a clue what a CO2 cartridge is or looks like, it should spark interest as an unknown object(s), for further investigation. Having said that, I don't think we know for sure if they are banned or not. Do we?
  9. I find these social media Internet sites are kinda like the movie "The Wizard of Oz". Dorothy and her buds took the Yellow Brick Road. The road wasn't straight, it took a lot of twists and turns. Each of the people who were on the road for differing agenda/things. One for a heart, one for a Brain, one for courage, and one just to get home. So, I'd just follow the Yellow Brick Road, but keep your hands and feet inside the ride.
  10. That may be true. People get away with a lot of things that you can find written rules/laws that are contrary to what actually happened. That's not to say that it should be a suggestion, and I'm not saying that you are and I did note that you put FWIW!. Every effort should be attempted to do what is written either as rule, law, custom, whatever. I would never take as gospel what I was told on an social media Internet forum. This copied BC issue is plainly and easily found in official websites. Non-Certified or notarized Photo copies of BCs are not acceptable.
  11. Yes Yes Yes, there are inconsiderate folks on both sides of the issue. I prefer to not be on either.
  12. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Haiti.html Requirement for Entry: Passport valid for at least six months from date of arrival. Visit the Embassy of Haiti website for the most current visa information. However: https://cruisemaven.com/do-cruise-ship-passengers-need-u-s-passport/ <For what it's worth! Caribbean nations that require cruise passengers to have a passport include: Barbados, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, St. Bart’s, and Trinidad and Tobago. Note: Royal Caribbean’s private island, Labadee, though part of Haiti, does not require a passport.
  13. Once again: Regardless of your experience of this admiration or others in the past, this has virtually been the State Departments suggestion: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/before-you-go/travelers-with-special-considerations/cruise-ship-passengers.html
  14. Did you do Sabor? That's what I'm really looking forward to in Jan 2024, out of Galveston though.
  15. Yes, it does. But, it isn't a requirement of the U.S. Department of State. Which doesn't matter as Royal has the final authority as to who can get on the ship or not. I think Royal wants the 6 month rule because it's easier than say that X country requires it, Y country requires it, ............... Just easier to generalize. It makes sense that the Government doesn't require it because they don't even require a passport for closed loop cruises. So, why make a 6 month requirement on something that isn't required. JMHO
  16. My wife gets Wrinkle stuff from Dollar General, off brand. Seems to work well. We also pack using those bags that you suck (go ahead, give it your best joke) the air out of. That also seems to work well. The recipe for home make Wrinkle Release is 1 cup filtered or distilled water, one cup white vinegar, and a few drops of essence oil, your favorite, I guess. Never tried it. As much as I like vinegar, I wouldn't want my cloths to smell like it. BTW, there are several other recipes out there.

  18. Tap the three lines, drop down, then FAQ, drop down, then FAQ again.
  19. Not that this answers the question(s) but, Royal sells their mattresses in all sizes. LOL They ain't cheap either!
  20. That's for sure. Not only that, I've found that almost all crew, tour or not, are very proud and more than willing to discuss their ship and their position on the ship. Much like many of us are/were proud of our jobs and facilities.
  21. While I agree that every adult that travels, plans on traveling and has children that may travel with them, SHOULD have a passport. No doubt about it. Having said that, I was an Army Recruiter stationed in Flint, MI and Lapeer, MI. You'd be surprised at the number of folks between the ages of 15 - 20 that have never, NEVER, traveled out of those cities. And as a recruiter, that's part of the job, prequalifying people for security background checks, foreign and travel in general was part of the process. It always amazed me. But, not everyone had the same youthful experiences I was privileged to have had.
  22. Unfortunately, along with soooooooo many other things, past, present, and future!
  23. Unless you absolutely have to use the internet at the same time with others, I'd just get the single package. I shared my Internet package with my family, total of 6 of us, all having their own devices. We just didn't do it at the same time. That's when our internet package wasn't included in the fare. To be open about it, my family isn't Internet hooked, like I am. So, I missed nothing or next to nothing. On a cruise, I generally just up load photos/video to the cloud. On a cruise, I don't visit social media much.
