  1. Yep, I believe that if it creates electrical resistance (heat), it would be held or banned.
  2. On my May 2022, Ovation, Alaska, it was my old Army buddy's and his wife's first RCCL cruise and Star at that. Man, I wanted it to be very very special for them. They both have served their country and true patriots. Because of COVID, the cruise was lacking in many venues being closed and/or cut back/didn't have all the offerings (olives, cocktail stirrers, condiments, et al) and we went through 3 genies. I thought RCCL really let me down but more importantly, let my buddy and his wife down. They were hard to read as to how they really felt about the cruise. They really didn't have any past RCCL cruise(s) to judge that cruise against. But, they did say it was miles above Rustbucket Cruise Lines. Really, all they spoke positively about was the lack of waiting in lines at venues and leaving the ship at Ports of Call and the main entrée in the Specialty Restaurants. Well, I'll be damned, him and his wife are currently looking for a Star Class cruise for March or April 2023. AND they are booked with us on our Jan 24, Harmony out of Galveston. I guess they were impressed enough to go again two more times, at least.
  3. Again, if I'm misremembering something, I'm sorry if it created any anxiety. I'm sure someone will come in here and set the record straight with facts. I hope so, anyway.
  4. I read in here, a while back, that with the "Unlimited Dining Package" there is a couple of venues, maybe it was Izumi, that still has an upcharge. Did you ask your agent and/or did he/she discuss that with you? If not, I'd check it out with your agent or look for it in RCCL's website, so your don't get a bigtime unexpected surprise. I could be totally wrong and misremembering something. But, it's worth checking out just in case.
  5. Well, it's 100% so far, all two of you. But, I asked the question because I read in another board that it was very very hot and unpleasant in there and I just wanted to verify. I hate/can't tolerate being in greenhouses. So, I guess the solarium is out for me, if or when I cruise on her. Thank you, both of you!
  6. Nothing on a cruise, or in life in general, is free. It may be included, but it ain't free! That "free" self serve ice cream, yep, you/I paid for that. Generally, I cruise Star Class (not bragging, just fact) and all the specialty restaurants are free, all (well mostly) adult beverages are free, the Internet is free. Just kidding, I paid for it in the long run.
  7. Well, our next booked cruise is Star and I'm sure the Genie will hear from her if he can't/wont get it. Thanks for the quick response.
  8. Because it appears that you are onboard a RCCL ship right now and you are a fan of wine, I'd like for you to check something for me (my wife, actually), please. My wife is not a big alcohol drinker. However, my oldest daughter introduced her to Stella Rosa wines, I think she just woke a sleeping monster, LOL. My wife really like the fruit flavored wines like the Watermelon, Mango, and especially Blueberry, et al. So, please let me know if RCCL carries it and if they carry it regularly. I just want the boring Burgundy, dry, and room temp wine.
  9. I'm take my Certificate of Forklift training, Commercial Driver's license, Rover's Rabies shot record, and Graduate Certificate from the Harvard School of Brain Surgery and Rocket science.
  10. Since the Solarium is fully enclosed, much of it enclosed with glass or plastic or whatever, does the A/C keep up with the heat or does it get real hot in there during the Caribbean sunny days?
  11. If your home airport is serviced by Southwest (disregarding current headlines) it is almost always much cheaper to fly into FLL. Southwest doesn't even fly into Miami because it is too expensive for the airline and their pricing structure, at least that is what we were told when I worked at FLL. Side note that doesn't answer any of the OP's question(s): Port Everglades is probably the closest and easiest Cruise Port to got to/from its associated airport (FLL). Port Everglades and FLL actually border each other. On the other hand, Canaveral is about ~50 miles from Orlando Airport. Having said that, I really like terminal 1 at Canaveral and I really really like terminal A in the Port of Miami. But, when I cruise out of Miami, I stay in Dania Beach, FL. I don't like Miami downtown area.
  12. The Oval Office! Be still, its a joke, not meant to be political!
  13. ****NOT CRUISE RELATED**** When I'm ordering a delivery pizza and I'm not really hungry, I tell them to cut the pizza in 4ths. If I'm hungry, 8ths, if I'm really really hungry, 16ths.
  14. Thanks, that about sums it up. Next? Well, I think pool towels will be put up for rental but you won't be able to sit around the pool or utilize the pool unless you rent the towel(s), $15.95 an hour for a minimum of 3 hours. Soft serve ice cream will continue to be free/included but a $5.99 charge for a cone or biodegradable bowl will be charged (cutlery already discussed above, post #203). All food in the included venues will remain free/included however all plates and glasses (cutlery as stated in post #203) will have to be carried by the user to the washy washy washy area and washed by the user, and returned to the table for the next user, optional pay for service available.
  15. Your right, luggage is a bit of an issue. I've heard of people utilizing the many luggage storage facilities around the port/FLL. Google: temp luggage storage at FLL Like I said, I grew up in Dania (Beach was not part of the city name when I lived there), FL., and to this date, I haven't been to the Park visitor's center. I don't feel like I've missed anything, but that's just me. AND, most tourists see more touristy things than most FL locals do.
  16. Oh, I believe I know why they are changing it the way it's been reported that it is changing. I just can't wait for the news release/press release, emails, tweets, what evers, giving the glorious reasons for doing it.
  17. Full disclosure: I really don't have a problem with changing a menu. In fact, change it often. What I object to is shrinking the menu or services, taking away time tested favorites, and then tinkle down my back and tell me it's raining, cut of my ear and tell me it was for my own good.
  18. If you get only 4 pieces and want more, just cut the 4 in half and BAM, there you are. Seriously, does Izumi make any Sushi that doesn't have seafood in it? I don't mind a little seaweed I just don't want any seafood, except for Shrimp and/or Lobster and not that imitation stuff. I'm fairly sure they do but you never know how strict they are with sticking to the menu.
  19. I hear ya! The nice thing about this new product, you can use it twice before washing. Turn it over and use the other side. Just like my underwear, I turn them inside out after a few uses, just like new.
  20. Forgot to mention: La Brea in Los Angles, CA.
  21. Petrographs in the U.S. Desert like Arizona and NM. Mammoth bones in the caves in many states. And last but not least, me!
