Waiting patiently in the middle lock to get to the last lock into the Atlantic. We sat in Gatun Lake around 4 hours I think and the Captain surprised us with a free happy hour from 1-2.

Currently on the Rotterdam. We were told we can only go through the new locks. The lifeboats are in line with the balconies that jut out so I think he was mistaken.

Thanks for your review! We also are cruising starting next Sunday and I was hoping they would get the mining issue resolved. I'm disappointed to be going thru the canal only to turn around and head back out and not cruising Gatun Lake. Stopping in Colon is no big loss in my opinion also.

I clicked on your link. I also checked CruiseTimetables and CruiseMapper and they are showing no ships scheduled in Key West on Nov. 23rd. Guess time will tell but I'm not making any new plans until HAL says it's so via communication to those of us booked on this cruise.

We are sailing from FLL on Nov. 12. We are not in Aruba until Nov. 16 along with the Jewel of the Seas. This whole thread is just a lot of speculation and misinformation.

I'm beginning to think this is just a glitch in the HAL Nav app. It's 3 weeks before our canal transit. Hopefully the unrest will be resolved by then and the Nov 12th cruise will proceed as currently scheduled on their website.

That's for the current cruise. I'm not on until the Nov. 12th cruise.

The new itinerary shows up in my Nav app but the old itinerary shows up in my hubby's Nav app. Weird. So are we not doing the partial transit any longer? That's the reason we booked this trip. And we're in Key West on Thanksgiving. Is anything even going to be open?

The Rotterdam has expanded the casino into adjoining space and it's non-smoking. Used to be the Park West Art space. From a January press release: In addition to the casino expansion, a separate non-smoking area in the casino on Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam have been added.

I'm on that cruise and I don't see any change in itinerary on HAL's website.

Yup...sorry didn't clarify...

Probably won't matter in January but as of this month all the air conditioning units have been removed and they will be "open air" from now on.

At the bar there it says Happy Hour 4-5 on martinis. What exactly does that mean? Maybe a different daily special each day??? Thanks in advance!

Thanks. I'll keep checking as it gets closer. I had already looked at everything on Trip Advisor. Hoping there will be options at the pier. Roll calls just aren't what they used to be with lots of folks jumping on board with M&Gs and activities. Usually these longer voyages attracted a lot of following.

We are on the Emerald Princess 11/25-12/23.

May 2023 FLL - Terminal 2 Arrived at the port just before 11. 2 lines outside the building - Priority and everyone else. Once inside the building everyone was in the same line. Things moved quickly and we were checked in and headed to the priority lounge but they were boarding and redirected us to the ship. We were onboard by 11:15. And, BTW, we already had our medallions. We'll see how it goes in November. I think they are still trying to figure it out.

Thanks. I had found her info and contacted her. I'm concerned about the hours being too close to ship arrival/departure and have been unable to garner any interest from our roll call. I thought if we had a group we could adjust the hours.
