  1. When you book in EZAir, put in your Delta SkyMiles numbers for each passenger. That will add your flights to the Delta app. Go into the Delta app, select the flight and click on the seatmap and you can choose the new seats you want in the upgraded area. The app will ask if you want to pay for the new seats in cash or in points.
  2. It is! Here's the blurb from the press release: Royal Afternoon Tea with Royal Chef Darren McGrady Chef Darren McGrady, personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Prince William and Harry, plus serving five U.S. presidents - leads a sophisticated Royal Afternoon Tea with Sun Princess guests in the Good Spirits at Sea Lounge. Chef McGrady shares his experiences and stories via visual media, interacting with the live host while guests enjoy a spot of tea and the traditional fixings of scones with clotted cream and jam, tea sandwiches, cookies and pastries. Tea pairings include Earl Grey and English Breakfast, along with more exotic varieties like Lapsang Souchong, Assam and Matcha, and guests may request a glass of bubbly for an added charge. Priced at $30 per person, Royal Afternoon Tea is offered on select sea days and can be reserved in advance.
  3. That makes sense since they said he'd be doing a presentation and I didn't think he could be on every cruise. That's fine. It's more the overall experience of spending mother/daughter time together and if it's a proper English tea (the free one on the Sky Princess last year didn't feel like one), it's worth it for us.
  4. Don’t know if it replaces afternoon tea completely. But they’ll be doing a $30 tea with a chef who used to work with England’s royal family. My teen and I are very excited to experience this when we sail.
  5. I wouldn’t worry until it’s been a week. As long as you got the acknowledgment email that it’s been submitted and it’s showing in your portal, they’ll let you know.
  6. There are pictures on FB, but they're a bit haphazard and more of the people than the ship's features. I'm sure there are YouTubers and writers on board who will start to share things in the next few days and then the average Joe will start to share as well. It must be overwhelming on the first day with the excitement of being on the first sailing and the anticipation from the past few weeks of not knowing if they'd be able to board.
  7. Yes but from what I’ve heard, most brokers are under the validation tool where you need to enter your brokerage login and password. Some aren’t comfortable doing that. Fidelity is listed separately so the trick is to pick Fidelity and then upload the image so you don’t have to provide you login info. Caveat: my broker is Fidelity so I can so for certain this approach works or not if you don’t have Fidelity. But it was a fairly simple process to upload the image and it took less than a week to get the OBC in my Princess account.
  8. We book balcony rooms because we have a teen and the balcony gives us a little extra space and separation to be together when we.re all in the room and the teen watches tv. When the teen goes to college though, we’ll probably move to an interior cabin since it’ll just be two of us.
  9. Print out the page of your current statement with the Princess stock info on it. Use a Sharpie and black out everything on the page except the line with the Princess stock info and your name and address (if it’s on there). Take a photo of that page with your phone. Open the app, create an account (you do not have to put your address, phone number or income - just skip that part) and go to Carnival Corp. Go down to Princess and click the Validate Your Portfolio button. Follow the steps and it will ask you to submit your claim. If you select Fidelity (even if you don’t use Fidelity) when you are able to upload, it will allow you to upload the photo you took of your statement. Apologies if I missed a step. I did this last week and it doesn’t let me exactly recreate it from the start. But that’s the gist.
  10. Is it 25/pp per day? Or a flat 25/pp?
  11. This part is very troubling to me. I've worked in Marketing and crisis management that surrounds it, and this is not the way to go. She shouldn't have even acknowledged that she saw your post on this public site. You weren't posting on their website. Even on a social media page, they don't own that and shouldn't be asking anyone to remove any legitimate, non-threatening comments, especially when the info posted came from their own team.
  12. I switched back and forth between my phone and my iPad on our last cruise and plan to do the same on our cruise in the summer. Easy to do. Once on board, if you have questions, head to the Internet cafe and the team there will show you how to do it.
  13. No offense but I’d be way more terrified of what is on towels and sheets if I had a phobia or wanted to avoid contamination. Fecal matter is what is going to get you seriously ill.
  14. Is anyone else having problems looking at excursions and spa treatments on the new app? I'm getting a 'Webpage not available' error, with a go back button on both (sorry if this has already been mentioned - if I scrolled through all 50+ pages I'd be here for a while). Editing to say I'm looking at my booking on the Sun Princess. But there were excursions listed on the old app, so I know they're set for my cruise.
  15. Glad to see the Sky Princess was fun for you. Our first Princess cruise was on the Sky Princess and one of our favorite parts were the excellent staff. This summer we’re be headed on the Sun Princess and can’t wait!
  16. The kids clubs on Princess are great. Older teens (14-18) can check themselves in and out of the club; on the Sky Princess during Spring Break this year the older kids club was open until 1am. Lots for them to do like play video games, dance, or just chat. One night they had a hot tub party in a closed off area just for the kids that our daughter loved.
  17. We took our then 3 year old on a Holland America cruise and my then 4 year old nephew was on as well. Same situation - my parents booked a family cruise. Everyone was very nice to them and had no issues with them not being around other kids. We took them to dance classes and on excursions and of course spent plenty of time at the pool. And if someone gives them the stink eye, that's their problem, not yours. It's not a Virgin Cruise where it's adults only. children are a part of life, even if you don't have your own. In March, we went on another cruise (this time on Princess) with our daughter who is now 15 and also had a great time as a family. She loved the teen club. You can let the cruise line know that it's your child's birthday and at dinner that night the staff will celebrate them. The kids should stay full most of the time, but we always bring a few snacks on board just in case. They come in handy especially during excursions when the time between meals could be stretched out. Make sure everyone has a water bottle and get some of those drop-ins that taste like Kool-Aide or Gatorade so the kids have water during the day. Another way to get them involved is to have them help pick the excursions that you decide to do. Even if it's just getting off the ship and walking around in town, having the kids research the local life, food and what there is to do helps get them excited and engaged in their vacation. Hope everyone has a great time!
  18. Thank you for this info. Headed there next year for the first time and had no clue. Will be sure to pack my own.
  19. Florida Currency Exchange at Westshore Mall is great. I used the one in Clearwater in March for money for our cruise. They handle almost every currency and take cash or credit card.
  20. We were on the Sky Princess in March and the casino bartender refused to change from the tennis channel to the college basketball games. My husband ended up listening on his phone by the pool via Sirius XM or keeping up online when not in the cabin.
  21. I have a 14 yr old and we sailed on Sky Princess earlier this year. She LOVED the kid’s club. I was shocked how much time she spent there. Teens club was open til 1am and although we didn’t allow her to stay that long, we let her come back to the cabin at 11pm which gave my husband and I time to relax at a bar or catch a movie by the pool. The staff was great too.
  22. On April 7th we booked on the Sun for a June 7-day out of Athens. I just checked - the total price for that cruise in the same cabin type on the same deck has gone up $490 since then. Don't know if that's normal or not but glad we got in while we did in case it continues.
  23. Yep that’s when we were on! He said he was headed to Europe so I’m thinking he’s still there unless his contract came up in between. (Editing to say that I just realized it's only been about 6 weeks since we were on - so of course he's still there. It seems like such a long time ago since we sailed. We miss it a lot lol!)
  24. Good Spirits at Sea. If Kenny is still the main bartender, he can make almost anything you ask and he’s a pleasure! One night I didn’t know what I wanted to drink and asked him to make me something a little sweet that didn’t have tequila. No clue what it was but it was fab.
  25. Or if anyone knows if they have Instagram accounts. Topaz was my favorite band on our cruise. They could sing and play almost any genre!
