  1. Vibe was awesome in July but again very very weather dependent. We added it at Guest Services after sailaway once we saw the forecast. Maybe 20 of us total up there during GB and I just moved around up there taking awesome pics and videos and didn't bump into anyone. The lido decks were PACKED.
  2. Alaska outside deck use is going to be incredibly weather dependent. I sailed the Encore this year and it was in the 70s-80s and sunny for most of the trip. The outside decks were busy. Colder and wetter sailings would obviously be less. May is early season, so you're probably going to be on cold/wet side at that point (I went in July)
  3. I'm not sure what the circumstances of the pre-poured mojito were, but every one I've had on the Encore (2 sailings) was made fresh regardless if they used the normal liquors or I asked for an upgraded one (there weren't many upgrade options)
  4. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter one bit. Random curiosity.
  5. I've heard the color shirt the staff wear has some sort of indication of their seniority. Like for example, bartenders/waiters and the yellow/gold shirt Is there a list of these somewhere?
  6. Yeah I'm regretting the decision to fly Allegiant. By the time I check bags and stuff it's really no cheaper than American would've been for me, and this transport situation is ... not ideal. SFB is way closer to where my friends can pick me up though, so they asked me to fly there. In hindsight, I probably should've done 2 one-way's.
  7. What's a reasonably economic way to get from Port Canaveral to SFB? Sailing out on a Norwegian cruise next month and I've got transportation to the port taken care of, but my companions will be adding a couple of bodies to their car and headed a different direction when we depart, so snagging a ride with them isn't an option. I tried to book a transfer through NCL and it says they can't do it, and it looks like GoPort only does shuttles to MCO.. Am I stuck with a $80 Uber/Lyft?
  8. How what goes in the working world? I told people to make sure they submit the Hero Cards, because they are how crew get recognized. It's literally the way you and I as customers provide feedback. dbrown was just agreeing with me Why do you feel the need to argue with everyone and everything on these forums?
  9. Average is going to be not leaving an additional tip. It's fairly uncommon afaik. So go with your heart. Anything above+beyond the DSC will be appreciated (and again, submit the dang hero cards!)
  10. On NCL you'll need to tip directly. There are no envelopes. Having said that, as others (and you) mentioned, tips on NCL are pre-paid if you take advantage of drink+dining packages. You're also allowed to pre-pay your stateroom daily charges as well, which should be considered the "tip" for your cabin steward and back of house folks. If you want to give more to specific folks, give them the cash directly. Having said that, while cash is no doubt appreciated, on NCL, you're really going to want to make sure you're submitting Hero Cards to Guest Services for folks that really go above+beyond. NCL does take those to heart and it's pretty much how the crew gets promotions/raises/etc...
  11. The studio lounge has free snacks and coffee and such. Depending on the ship, it may also have other amenities (The Prima and I assume other Prima class ships have beer taps) so definitely still worth using the lounge even if you don't go to the meetups
  12. No I was saying I paid like $280 out of pocket for the certs. They gave us quite a refund for leaving port a couple hours early.
  13. As others mentioned you'll get a "better" cabin within your stateroom category by doing this. Up to you if that's incentive or not. The real hookup onboard is CruiseNext certificates. There will be deals that give you OBC for buying a certain dollar amount, and you can spend that OBC on, you guessed it, more CN certs. I walked off the Prima in April with 4 $250 certs and only paid $500 for it (and about half of that came from OBC we got as compensation for having to leave Bermuda early Of course, again, up to you if that's an incentive or not.
  14. You'd think they'd shut down a lot more than the haven private tubs if this was the case, no?
  15. It's not listed with that stuff. If you're on the website it's on the summary page
  16. 100% of Vibe is available to book before sailing these days. If it doesn't sell out, you can book trip and/or day passes on board, but again, no guarantees they'll be available.
  17. Rommel went back to the Philippines shortly after emkarbing on the Viva for personal reasons. Not sure if he's gone for good or if it's temporary.
  18. Trying to figure out what's up with this and hoping someone in here might have an idea.. I'm booked on a 7 day sailing and just upgraded to FAS+ for $294 but my friends on the same cruise are being prompted for $343 $343 is what it should cost for a 7 day sailing as far as I can tell, so I'm trying to figure out why I got it for $294 which would be the rate for a 6 day sailing.. Thoughts? Is it because I'm Silver latitudes or something?
  19. The breakaway+ ships have a cold water feature on the very top
  20. None of the Vibe Beach Club areas have a pool. They have 2 hot tubs tho
  21. Interesting.. I had heard the 3rd was going to be Bella.
  22. Not trying to argue here, but do you honestly think a cruiser booked on a near-term POA sailing that's this oblivious to current events regarding Hawaii is going to be tuned in enough to see a banner on the NCL site or check their e-mail? I mean, I agree, anything's better than nothing, but I can't fault them for holding off on any communications until they know what their plan to proceed is.
  23. 2nd this request. Also curious what bar staff came onboard? I know the Vibe crew is there along with Merwyn.. Is Cowboy onboard?
