I received a signed card and some decorations for my birthday last year on the Quest. No special wine or discounts. I was relieved that they didn’t sing Happy Birthday to me at the main dining room. Just being on the cruise was celebration enough! It sounds like it may vary from ship to ship. Enjoy!

As a follow up, we were able to get an upgrade on board from obstructed ocean view to a veranda for $1,000 (total) for the 11 night Italy cruise. We were amongst the early ones to board and there were a few remaning cabins from which we could choose.

Has anyone had success recently upgrading upon checkin? Was the upgrade reasonable/ better price than if you purchased the better cabin initially? Thanks!

What is the temperature like on the balconies? We were trying to figure out whether it is worth the cost to upgrade to a balcony for an October Mediterranean cruise. I’m sure the wind will make it feel much colder. I’m curious if others find it worth the extra cost.

I read that there are no buses or taxis from the port to Chioggia. Tyler6597 said it is about a mile walk. Is that to the town or is that to the nearest bus stop?

We are departing Chioggia in October for the Italy Intensive Cruise. The Azamara excursion options included transfers from both Marco Polo Airport (Venice) as well as transfers from Venice. We plan to use OBC. Are these options listed in your excursions?
