  1. The ships are likely wired differently.
  2. Post Malone. 🎶As soon as I heard his name, I told DH to be prepared to see Tats Galore. 🥴DH said a roadmap was easier to read. I don't know if he has a nice singing voice, cuz I can't get the picture out of my head. I recognize him from watching " The Voice." Sorry, Post, if you read this, I'm sure your creativity on full display brings you joy. And no offense to anyone here - that much ink in those places is just not for me. We also watched The Game w/OTA antenna because our DirectTV box isn't working. I'm wondering why we continue to pay for TV. DH says it's so he can watch sports. 🙄
  3. You can pay the tips from any type of OBC - it will deduct from non-refundable first then automatically use refundable once non-refundable is gone.
  4. Absolutely! Cruising Alaska is awesome - enjoy!
  5. OMG - I had palpitations just reading this...
  6. I liked the cakes from the very talented bakers that cruisers posted. Never been on a Super Bowl cruise, so I wasn't aware they made those - nice touch.
  7. Woo Hoo indeed and congrats on the 5*!! Enjoy the reception - you earned it.🏅🥇🥈🥉🏅 Thanks for sharing the beautiful picture.
  8. Good days - DH and fur babies shall all get extra hugs. The meal sounds good, would try the drink and wine, not been to the port. The Counters must have the day off again. I spent over 2 hours on the phone yesterday getting my May cruise changed; the TA kept putting me on hold while she called HAL - she would recap the changes, something would not be right so she'd call them again. She finally said she would add me to the call so we could just get it all straight and stop the back & forth, geez she should have done that in the beginning. As the HAL person fixed something she said other things would change and she'd have to fix those; it was a mess. So, after more than 2 hours, both HAL and TA said everything looked good and updated booking confirmations were going out. Yay! Nooooo - when I looked at the booking it showed a Gty rather than the cabin I told the TA I wanted. So, I did a hold for the cabin I want to secure it and will call again today to get that fixed and will see about adding CO while I'm at it. Good grief. Thanks to all who shared their Normandy pictures - they're beautiful and touching.🙏📸 Currently 45° (feels colder) headed to windy 57°. Maybe the wind will help dry out the yard, but don't think so - there is a lot of standing water. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  9. They did a nice job with all the cakes - how fun to not just show the game, but have the customized cakes, too 🏈
  10. Not on HAL unless it's a ship I've not been on. HAL GS has a separate CO line and some have a separate line for internet issues, but not a separate line dedicated to passengers wanting to adjust grats. And please notice I said "adjust grats" not "remove grats."
  11. When it's part of the HIA package, upgrading can only be done onboard. To purchase internet separately (ie not bundled in HIA), you can see the price of each level inside your booking in "packages."
  12. You don't know they're not - any number in that long GS line could be there to have grats adjusted (up, down or removed).
  13. Thanks @bennybear for the photos - Memory Lane! I thought it was a lovely area w/beautiful views.
  14. Good to hear the seas are better - I'm sure you're glad, too. 😊 Hope the meds do their job on the bronchitis - the coughing can be annoying and frustrating. I took the free shuttle last month to the Farmers Market - it was a nice an option. We walked to the post office from the market and saw some interesting things along the way.
  15. That is what I've heard during similar chats - tips pooled and distributed fleetwide, not shipwide to passenger-specific sailing. I've not heard a breakdown of percentages given during the chats; I've seen some % here on CC but nothing official from HAL. So long as they're fully distributed, I personally don't care what the breakout is and follow my heart for anything additional.
  16. @marshhawk congrats on the sale. I hope your boss is ok and you hear from him soon.
  17. 14 and 16 day cruise in Dec I paid $50 to upgrade to Premium. I did it on day 3 both times. In Dec, cabinmate did not upgrade. On day 7 hers showed $25 to upgrade. Best wishes on the new career.
  18. Yes, apologies - I did 2 different searches and looked at the wrong one. I need more of something - coffee or sleep. 🙄
  19. Nov 7, 2023 port was Messina, Sicily; we went to Savoca instead of Taormina as DH wanted to do the Godfather tour and I'd been to Mt Etna June 2017, so I let him decide. Since it's a bit of a drive, we did the ship tour; this is the description (2 pages). Apparently it was an early morning. The Ambience was in port with us. Bow Cam view Sunrise view from our balcony on NS Port views from our balcony Walking tour left from a centrally located plaza There were statues and art installations recognizing The Godfather contribution Cats enjoy the plaza It's grown over, but the cafe from the movie is still open. And cats are welcome. Very narrow streets With lots of interesting architecture And, of course, arches galore This was cool - they incorporate broken pottery into the buildings. We did not go to the museum This is in the wall as you go up the road to the church (the one from the wedding scene), it is clay - no touching allowed The City Door Lots of nice pots No pictures of the church or the view from it; they're on DH phone. It was a beautiful day and I was snap-happy on the way up - it's a steep climb. Zoom in - Why are the coins here? I don't know why this has bars on it or what it was used for - saw many of these You can buy a place Sunset as seen from our balcony
  20. Recognition of autism is definitely worthy of having a day. Electricity and Mr Edison sure impacted the world! I struggle w/the quote - life should be preserved when possible, but there are some horrific actions which cause me to believe they don't all have equal value. It's sad & unfortunate that some are not worth saving. Pass one the meal (jalapeños), might try the drink, yes to the wine, not been to the port, but have been to Sicily (gorgeous). 3 great days in history. More work today - I have quite a bit still to do before midnight deadline. Laundry is also on the list. Currently 52° headed to 54° so not much difference. Weather shows to currently be foggy, but it's dumping right now, so it's clearly not to be trusted, lol. Bon Voyage @quilty964 Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
