  1. Translation is important and should be recognized. I would try the soup, skip the drinks. Not been to Fiji, but would like to go. Today's history days are important - thank goodness we do not have to experience tooth extraction w/o benefit of a numbing agent. I am finally home after spending the night in JFK - the service line did not clear the last person until 1am!! I have read the flooding that caused so many flight cancelations was among the worse in NYC history. I hope everyone is ok. I'm going to bed.
  2. When a TA owns your booking, you can still book excursions, dining, flights, etc - any add-ons you want. But when it impacts the total cruise fare itself, you cannot make payments through HAL site - you have to pay through your TA. You will see a comment to contact TA for payments - there is not even a button to click to make payments. I would post a screenshot, but of course, I cannot get in... If you call in to make payment, they will direct you to your TA and will not process a payment. Again, that is not the case for add-ons such as excursions & dining. When you have a PCC, you can still make payments yourself.
  3. How appropriate today is Broadway Day & Maritime Day given I'm stuck in an NYC airport trying to get home from a cruise... Tend to agree w/the quote. Pass on the food and drink. Would try the wine. Been to Anchorage once on a land cruise tour - it was truly the only bad experience we've had w/HAL and will not do another. We love HAL & AK, so we'll stick with cruise only. The days in history are important. After being stranded in the rain for a couple hours and numerous flight cancelations, I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed. Thanks for letting me whine. Views from my balcony this morning pulling into NY.
  4. It's a very new feature and likely the kinks aren't worked out so that everyone can see them. I would call the accounting number provided by Boatdrill:
  5. I will be a couple days before providing final pics, updates and comments - many flights out of NYC canceled today due to weather- mine included. So now I'm not home until about 2pm tomorrow. Disembarkation went well - it was quick. Only a couple negative comments (1 to me is a really big deal): after the last walk-offs & 1st luggage numbers were called, there were no more announcements in certain areas like the dining room. So if you weren't in a lounge, you couldn't hear numbers being called - oops. Nobody advised pax the Fac Rec wasn't working (it worked at check in) so they knew to have docs handy. There were no signs and no people letting pax know where the airport shuttles were located. We finally found someone to ask, but no shuttle (see next comment). Not having cruised out of MCT, I certainly didn't know where to go. The real inconvenience was lack of shuttles. We pre-paid for shuttle to JFK. Nobody seemed to be able to find it. Turns out, they didn't get one and were calling private cars. After 2 hours waiting (in the 🌧) we did get a ride to the airport. There were about 10 of us hanging out in the same situation. Not a good move for Carnival to send someone home from a cruise on a bad note.
  6. Saw them going up as we were getting off - looked like it would be fun!!
  7. We did not try to make calls and have never used ATT at Sea. I don’t expect perfection w/the internet - it goes in/out at home on land, so I wouldn't expect it to be better on a ship in the ocean. Previously, I did not get internet and would only connect on port days using whatever connection I could get. But since I was working this time, I had to buy internet. I got the premium since I needed to do Teams and Zoom calls. It worked fine. I bought it pre-cruise bundled w/excursion so I got 10% discount. It was adequate for what I needed.
  8. We had no issues other than a couple pair of jeans came back w/damp waistband. We did not request anything on hangers.
  9. Here we are waiting for clearance to get off. We can have a drink, buy fake gold chains and listen to music. Found another duck, so that's 1 more we can hide. How is the Inch of Gold open since we're at port? Everything around it is closed.
  10. Good afternoon, almost Halifax! Winds have calmed down a bit; still a bit brisk in the shade, but feels nice in the sun. We have an independent 4 hour your - I'll let you know how it goes & share the details if we like it.
  11. Good morning, En Route to Halifax! Kinda cool outside and just a bit windy. Ducks found last night. Count: me = 4, Sis = 3. Technically I found 5, but I am not counting the one I found at the Steakhouse that I had not yet picked up that a guy bent down right next to me (I'm being VERY gracious w/his proximity to me) and picked up. Good thing I don't value personal space...can you feel the sarcasm? People on airplanes and cruise ship tour buses don't get as close to each other as he got to me.🤔
  12. We've only got 2 days left on this FUN ship and have a lot still to explore. I'm working Wed morning before we head into Halifax and Thurs we have Behind the Fun tour & Terrazzo Sea Day Brunch. I'm working Thurs afternoon, so probably will walk around a bit in the evenings. I do still have to find the library by request. I'll try to post some of the many pictures I took before they kick us off Fri and from the airport. Goal is to have very little to do once back home. I've really enjoyed my B2B on the Venezia and will book her again when the itinerary and price intersect. There are a few minor things I don't care for or that need attention, but no cruise or ship is perfect and none of the things warrant me not sailing the Venezia again.
  13. I was working in the morning, so excursions before noon were out. Plus it was cold 🥶. We took the HOHO around St John; it has a stop right at the port - through the Welcome Center to the right then left. The "Container Store" is to the left. Path for HOHO is well marked - follow the pink line.😉 Time Out: 1:30; Time In: 5:58pm. Felt like we saw a lot and got a good overview of SJB and Bay of Fundy in 4.5 hours. The Container Store was closing down when we got there, but we were able to buy some nuts, fudge and whoopie pies. YAY for homemade for whoopie pies!! YAY for repurposing shipping containers! Architecture is great - many unique buildings w/stained glass. I couldn't get a lot of pictures because we rode a lot - only got off at the Market and Reversing Rapids - so what pictures I did get are moving shots. SJB Firsts from 1785 - 1852. All Mickey Ds in Canada have a maple leaf in the center. Is that a street sweeper - the van with the broom on the back? Ours don't look like that. 🤔 Lily Lake (1 of 10 lakes) in Rockwood Park is lovely; fall colors are just starting to appear (been too warm). Rockwood Park is 2,200 acres w/31 miles of trails. The maple leaf statue contains all the types of rock found in Canada. So does the house. Saw a moose w/a hockey stick. The church is beautiful - hard to get a picture of the top from a moving vehicle.🙄 If you zoom in, you can glimpse the Tiffany lamp in the window of the Jewish Museum - it has to stay w/the property if it's sold. Nice view of our ship from across the bay. Reversing Rapids is incredible - hard to capture in pictures - go see it!! Sunset was beautiful - I wasn't able to capture sail away as I was busy eating BBQ ribs in MDR. 20230926_172507.mp4
  14. Ropes course w/view of St John. The weather was perfect for doing it. Didn't see anybody up there the couple times I looked, then finally as we headed from the HOHO to ship around 6pm, saw someone on the left side. Did not capture them in these shots. The view must be amazing up there!
  15. We have that booked w/independent company and crossing fingers & toes it happens. We've read the port frequently gets canceled due to weather. I hope you're able to stop & post fab pictures.
  16. It was in Limelight on Venezia, rated as adult. We didn't know what is was & did not go, but would now that we do.
  17. Correct - no self laundry, just the paid bag service. We put so much in 1 bag, it took them 2 bags to return it. We sent it out by the 9am deadline and got it back same day w/no service charge.
  18. Finally made it to Family Feud. We went to the 2nd show at 9:30 - Family Feud Live: After Hours (18+). It was PACKED and so much fun. The cousins from Missouri won. The theater is definitely too small, as we've kinda all heard by now. And the columns you've read about are large and block the views; there are several of them. There is room to stand at the back. Temperature was comfortable - not too hot or cold. Gonna try to go to Love and Marriage tomorrow night.
  19. Sunset very pretty - can't tell from these pictures, but it was nice. Ooh - we're moving now. Bye Bye, St John.
  20. Mr Weatherman thought is was 34°. Should warm up nicely.
