  1. We really enjoyed our time at the Rapture Center - you got some great pictures.
  2. Most recently I've checked in was 6 days ago - it worked. Maybe they've already started working on things ahead of the maintenance planned for this weekend and it messed w/the check in buttons. Hope you get it sorted out so you get the group you want. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  3. Slightly bummed about my flight. There were quite a few seats available when I checked in so I kinda expected to get an upgrade notice by now. Maybe the Upgrade Fairy will pay me a visit tonight and I'll have a surprise waiting for me in the morning. Tomorrow morning is a packed calendar, very busy work schedule. I didn't plan on working and flying in the same day, but AA had different plans, so here I go. I am thankful the weather is looking better. All right, shall we see what the Carnival countdown clock has to say? Pardon me just a sec while I go look. BRB - are we still using that? I'm back. I see the 1st week has regained its color. I feel skill much better, that it was trying to send me a coded message. Shuttle driver is confirmed for tomorrow. Wally dropped off another bag of trail mix to replace the one DH ate; it went straight into the suitcase. I learned that lesson quickly! And I ordered an extra one for him 💙 He got the gate back on the dog crate, so you know where our big boy will be while DH is at work. Tested WhatsApp on DH new phone, so we should be able to communicate with each other while I'm gone. So - check, check, check... All good to go!! I'll try to get one more update before we get to the airport, but with the heavy work schedule, definitely not promising. Fingers crossed for a short TSA line and Let's Go!! Oh yeah , and come on Upgrade Fairy!
  4. I am so thrilled I probably won't sleep much tonight. I'm tellin' you - I'm channeling my inner Christmas child; I won't be able to get good sleep until I'm in my cabin. I best go straight to the balcony or I may fall asleep and miss sail away. That would bite. I had a different word, but did an edit in an attempt to keep this PG-13 🥴 Are your parents excited and ready to go? I hope they have big plans for the milestone birthday celebration.
  5. and green apple - don't forget to eat a green apple every time you take those pills. 🍏 hope you feel better soon.
  6. That's something you don't know unless you've been in Tornado Alley - green skies. And the lightening shows are very impressive.
  7. I've received nothing and my itinerary hasn't changed, so I'm showing up. May not know where I'm going, but so long as AA does their part, I'll be there.
  8. I've been checking and no offers. Since the cruise was showing sold out but resend had availability, I would have to assume weather cancellations. You know Carnival would rather recoup any $$ on upgrades than have empty cabins, so why no offers?
  9. Hey @colbe what is this arrangement called, do you remember? It's very pretty.
  10. If you hang back after the flower arranging demo, you can talk directly with the florist and let him know of any special requests, substitutions, etc and he will make you exactly what you want. You can also buy vases from him at that demo.
  11. I like cream filled donuts and realize it's been a while since I've had one. Not sure I agree w/the quote - I would like to think I am worthy and deserving of good things, including my dear friends. Pass on the meal and drink; not been to Tortola. Thank goodness for the RAMAC 305 and double thanks for the technology that has allowed future computers to weigh a bit less 😊 Therapist did not email the exercise plan she said she would, so I'll try to reach her today. I have an extremely full work day today and set an alarm to check in for my flight this afternoon so I'll add another one for "email therapist." Have a bit of editing to do to on the packing; goal is to zip the suitcases before dinner. DH saw his cardiologist yesterday - full blood workup done, echo and stress test scheduled. Echo will be done while I'm gone - hope Cardio emails results cuz DH is really bad at listening to the details when he is told results. He was supposed to have a couple stents replaced (has 7) this year, but that got postponed so maybe the Echo & stress test are in preparation for getting that back on schedule? Or maybe it's just time because it's been more than 6 months since the last ones? I don't know, DH didn't ask, he just said ok. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  12. Thanks @JCrewz for stopping by. Like your wife, I am really looking forward to seeing Canada 🇨🇦 and NE and packed for them. I'm not team "the ship is my destination, the ports don't matter." I cruise for the ports and booked these 2 (B2B) almost 2 years ago, so I will be disappointed if we don't go there. However, I don't stress about what I cannot control, so I will enjoy myself and have a great cruise no matter where I'm going. I just have fingers crossed 🤞 that's Canada 🇨🇦 & NE. 🙂 Forecasts look promising. 🤫 I hope your wife gets the cruise she wants!
  13. I hope there are still good sunsets left for us next week - you sure have had some nice ones. Hope Mother Nature didn't use 'em all up on you guys 😅
  14. Well the clock is certainly ticking down and I'm leaving on a jet plane...I liked that song. Hard to imagine John Denver was in his early 20's when he wrote it. Storyline has zero, nada, zip to do with cruising other than I will be taking a plane trip. 🙄✈️ Carnival has not made changes to the itinerary so for now the plan is still the plan. Weather shows to be high 60s - mid 70s for most of the 2 weeks, so I replaced a jacket w/corduroy big shirt and threw in a couple extra 👕. I have a very lightweight rain jacket and small umbrella 🌂. Now for shoes - I pack light on shoes: usually 1 pair flip flops for bopping around the 🚢 and going to the spa, 1 pair black shoes for dressy night and 1 other pair for port days. For those of you keeping track, that's 3 pairs of shoes total. I'm struggling w/taking my boots since it could rain. They take up a lot of room in the suitcase & they're heavy. And no, I won't wear them to save the room; I just cannot handle that much on my feet for that many hours. So, what to do? Once I solve that little dilemma, the rest of the packing will go quickly. Packing - still need to grab some more trail mix to replace what DH ate. Told DS I am not hauling cokes for her - she can take her own or pick some up on way to/from hotel. Already put tea bags in suitcase, so I think the trail mix is it. Very heavy work day again tomorrow and Fri morning, so I will probably be ready for a nap 😴going to NY. Lord, please do not let me snore.🙄🫣 And definitely ready to hit the spa!! I'm looking forward to relaxing. We have only booked 4 excursions; 3 through ship, 1 independent. Plan on doing the Mail Run and hoping to find something else at port. Thought we had day long tour in Cape Breton, but they stopped communicating - very disappointing. I'm hesitant to book now even if they call - if they don't call to book, who says they'll show up for the tour? That's their process - you contact them w/the tour you want & they call to take payment and confirm booking. Here's tonight's countdown - cat says he's ready for bed, so I guess that means I'm done for tonight. Oh, I almost forgot - look how the first leg is all gray. Strange...
  15. @MisterMatthew congrats on deciding to get a passport!! Sounds corny, but it does open new possibilities for you - so exciting! I still remember how I felt the day I opened the envelope and held my first passport in my hand 🤭 Another thing you can do with a passport - use it when going through security at airport; no need for DL. You'll have an option to get a passport card when you apply. It's the same size as your DL, so easy to carry in your wallet. Just remember it's not valid for air travel, you need the book for that. Enjoy your new freedom!!
  16. No passport shaming; easy peasy - just lose your passport so you have to get a replacement 😉 Surely that cool hard plastic page is just as cool as a CO tote bag or orange stripe card? We know how much you covet those 🫣 Cannot have you feeling inferior 🤭
  17. Happy to hear you think it will be a nice sail away. We're in a port aft wrap - do you think that gives us enough view to see Statue of Liberty or would we still need to go over to Starboard side?
  18. I have this fan - never thought of taking it cruising.🤔
  19. Look at you - go!! Congrats again! You're feeling better and getting recognition and winning the spa credit haircut game - pretty good day!
  20. Yes I think we'll find out where we're going when we get there. I'm ok with that, but I am really looking forward to all the ports we're supposed to go to and hope we don't lose all of them. What I do know, is I have zero control, so I will enjoy whatever is in store for us.🙂 Safe travels!!
  21. Welcome back!! My group have not had an issue taking the reusable hard plastic bottles.
  22. I will definitely update about magnetic walls and ability to use hooks - those are packed. In full disclosure, they were never unpacked from the last cruise, they just live in the suitcase 🫣 Every large balcony I've ever had has had both loungers and chairs; I will be very disappointed if I don't have them this time. I had read posts from others on Venezia w/large balconies that they had loungers 🤞 We're in an aft wrap, so hopefully far enough back to miss some of the horns...and large enough for a lounger 🤔 I do like some fog, though.
