Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. If your sailing is full, be sure to book any specialty dinning or extra charge performances on the first day. We we're lucky with only a half full ship so it was very easy to make reservations.
  2. I just returned from an MSC cruise this month. The package includes any drink up to $10, anything above that you will pay the difference. There are a lot of drinks to chose from in the $10 range.
  3. I've never sailed on HAL or Princess, but I am pretty sure all of the Cruise lines have Loyalty Programs with different benefits, however you need to sail several times to climb in status. Some Lines like MSC have a Loyalty Match program, so if you have a high status with a different Cruise Line or even Hotel Chain, MSC will match it. Carnival is not for everyone, but I know they have a Sailing Loyalty program as well as a Casino Loyalty program, so if you are a big gambler you can climb the Casino status much faster and get added discounts and offers. If you sign up for Celebrity's Captain's Club, and opt in for Captains Club emails you can earn bonus points by watching videos, or answering questions. It's not a lot of points, but ever bit helps. Finding a good travel agent is also a good way to get some deals and on board credits.
  4. If they are already booked, I would suggest buying them some OBC instead? Or send a gift to their stateroom.
  5. You should become a travel agent! 🤣 One thing to add, when MSC had a cheaper price than TA due to the Voyages Club discount, you can just book through MSC, and then the TA can request a booking transfer, provided the cruise has not been paid in full. This will cancel your booking and create a new one, but if the TA has any other benefits, they should get added to the new booking.
  6. One more MSC glitch to add to the list, I emailed MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com to try and fix my wife's Voyager Club issue. I received the confirmation email with a link to to visit MSC Voyagers Club - Overview for more information regarding The MSC Voyagers Club! Click the link and you get "Oops, looks like this page is cruising right now"
  7. Yeah, I don't recall the sign up process exactly, if there was a middle name field or not, but both of our accounts have 1st and middle name as the first name. I believe our middle names are required because they are on our passports as well. My wife tried emailing them weeks ago, I don't remember their exact reply, but it was something to the tune of "we don't see anything wrong with your account". 🤣
  8. I find their website to be full of glitches like this, also a lot of dead links, I clicked on the Download MSC For Me APP link from my booking email, and got "oops this page does not exist". There was also a link for some bonus points that didn't work either. My wife's online account will not display her Voyager Club number, and when she tries to add it, it says its not the correct number, and if she clicks sign up it says she already has a number.
  9. I believe that covers 6 people.
  10. I can only see the Canadian Dollar prices so you'll have to do the conversion.. Regular Cabana $323 CAD Yacht Club Ocean View $515 CAD Yacht Club Beach Front $579 CAD
  11. Sailing to Ocean Cay for the first time in January. We are thinking about booking a cabana, I see they have "Regular" Cabanas and 2 different options for Yacht Club Cabanas. We are looking at the "Regular" Cabanas, are they all located on the same beach, or spread out around the island on different beaches? If they are all located on 1 beach, which beach is that? Are they generally located near bars/food/restrooms/etc?
  12. Thanks for the info, just a quick web quote came to about the same price, but they may have some extra perks available. Maybe I will email them, or just save the contact for our next booking. Thank you!
  13. Thanks for the info, we ended up booking through MSC because our travel agent didn't have any extra perks at the moment, and for some reason their price was higher than MSC. They were not getting any added discounts with out Voyager number, but on MSC it gave us an added discount. I've never used a US travel agent, maybe I should look into that!
  14. I think I was able to answer most of my own questions!
