Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Wwc24 should still be active offering 10k off a v2 with free stateroom upgrade for either the 138 or 121 wc If they follow last year there will be another 5k reduction in either August or September if they still need to sell cabins but they reduced onboard credits from 4k to 3k per couple
  2. Clay I would think Viking would extend this offer long enough for you as it has been active since at least March and then they sweetened it w/ additional savings in either June or July. Looking forward to meeting you and Mike on board.
  3. You are correct if you had booked before Viking offered the promo code wcs23 in addition to the usual wc perks you received $2k excursion credit plus $1k shipboard credit plus an additional $1k for past Viking guests. However even at the lowest category of v2 the fare was $60k for boarding in Fort Lauderdale and $73K for a dv1. We gladly gave up $1k in excursion credits for a savings of $19k for a dv2 and almost an additional $1k on the insurance. That savings is an additional $5k now and you have to double those savings for both you and yours. Clay we thank you for that savings for starting this roll call and to our friend who made us aware of this post.
  4. The wcs23 promo code has been active since at least 3/2023 on Viking Sky (see my post #580 and #584) but at that time it was $5k more than present offer ($50k for boarding in Fort Lauderdale and $45k for boarding in LA). Viking has been rolling this code over every month and at some point they included Neptune in the offer and dropped the price by $5k ($45k for boarding in Fort Lauderdale and $40K for boarding in LA). I've encouraged all my friends to join us but haven"t convinced anyone yet. It has always included all the usual wc perks (business class air, silver spirits, gratuities, luggage forward, visa, $1k excursion credit, $1k shipboard credit plus additional $1k for past Viking guests as well as free upgrade v2 to dv1 for example). The cruise critic wc roll calls for both Viking Neptune and Sky have been active and are a great source of information as well as Facebook posts for both. Also the cruise critic roll call for the completed wc for Viking Neptune is extremely informational since that one was two years in the making. It has 354 pages of posts and some are still contributing. If considering this may be the best offer but who knows as there is still time before December.
  5. silver spirits, gratuities, 1k excursion credit and 1k shipboard credit plus 1k for past viking guests is included.
  6. I just noticed world cruise fare for 2023 on either Viking Sky or Neptune was reduced. Using code wcs23 you can book a DV for a V2 rate which now makes the 138 day journey $45k down from $50k. If anyone is on the fence it probably won"t get better. The $5k savings also applies to the 121 day voyage reducing it to $40k.
  7. Thanks again for your great insight to us future wc's. Just wondering if you would consider a future wc or is once enough?
  8. Love following your posts as they are so informational and amusing. For your Bali excursions using Sherif did you use him on your own or with others?
  9. I believe you are on viking sky wc and if you are we might be interested in doing this with you. We are leaving for Egypt for May 10 with the Israel pre and Jordan post with an additional 7 days on our own but probably will want to visit these sights again as they are memorable. Joanne and Tom
  10. As a follow up to my earlier post as I know a world cruise is not for everyone but if you are considering this at all then this one is worth considering. We chose Viking Sky because of the offer over Viking Neptune even though most wc's chose Neptune as it is the newer ship. We booked a DV2 for the price of a V2 a $19k savings per person plus an additional savings of $1.2k on insurance per person. One reduction in savings over earlier wc pricing was we are receiving $1k excursion credit versus $2k in previous offers. Overall we netted a $19.2k savings per person. Viking could still sweeten the offer at a later date but we felt this might be as good as it gets. We are receiving all the usual wc perks such as ss, free business or first class air, gratuities paid, luggage forward, visa service and $1k shipboard credit plus an additional $1k for previous Viking patrons and $1k for for excursion credit. There were 2 DV1 rooms available which would have been an additional savings of $4k per person but we are comfortable with our selection of DV2. As additional tidbit we were on Viking Neptune's initial voyage originating in Istanbul and took it all the way to Fort Lauderdale where it embarked on the current wc. It was brand new but all Viking ships are almost identical. We have previously been on Viking Sun for two 40 plus sailing days before that ship was sold to China. Very glad to have found this post and thank you Clay for originating it.
  11. We booked wcs23 on viking sky and reserved a dv2 for lowest veranda price and received all the normal wc perks. This was a significant savings.
