The iPhone disconnects from wifi once it's being used as a hotspot as it's wants to be a hotspot for your mobile service instead

Just back from the Fjords and it was Captain Wesleys last cruise with P&O, saw him on the quayside a few times during the offboarding talking to folks and doing photos.

I thought table cloths allowed quicker turnaround - whip old one off and place new one. Probably more hygenic too.

I love a drink but my Son who is coming with me this time only drinks maybe a bottle of cider and a cocktail meaning it would not be worth getting the drinks package. I'm on holiday and part of holidaying for me is eating and drinking out so have an expectation of spending a bunch of pounds on that and fridge magnets.

10 is good, just really didn't want my wife driving all the way down to pick us up at 8am as that would be a very early start for her 🙂

Taking my Son on his first cruise and my wife is going to pick us up from Southampton when we return, what sort of time should I ask her to meet us at the port, obviously the later the better as it's a two hour drive and I honestly don't mind eating breakfast until 11am. We are staying at a hotel the night before embarkation so that part isn't a worry. I've searched forums but most people seem to want to know how early they can finish their holidays not the opposite 🙂

Agree the entertainment team were pretty decent, Liv and Brian also could really sing well, loads better than our last cruise on D2. (We were on the same cruise as you too)

They don't seem to do a shuttle bus from town to the cable car as we did the Budvar/isle tour that day and hoped to do cable car on our own. Not a fan of Taxi's with all the hagling etc. Really missing a trick there as it's a fair way out of town. Seems the only way to do the cable car is via a cruise tour.

Only 1 sea day per week (Day 2) so only expecting 1 per week. We're doing the same ex2 on 30th 2 weeks back to back, so hopefully I don't spill down myself... 🙂

Used it last time at Birmingham, makes the early morning airport flight much simpler. If you are worried and have an iPhone you could place an AirTag in a case so you can make sure they're going with you.

We also had our first cruise last year (discover 2). I really enjoyed the food. We tried Surf and Turf and Kora La (paid for restaurants) and both were excellent. We only did buffet breakfasts so can't comment on the mdr breakfast. The mdr meals were good and service was excellent everywhere. Dress code was fine, didn't feel underdressed in shirt/chinos and on formal night (sea days for us) I stuck a tie and waistcoat on too and felt fine. People did have dinner jackets on but it was a good mix of people in smart casual upwards. We only did a few tours (Rome and Pompeii) but as it was our first cruise I was a bit scared about missing trains etc so felt safer doing the packaged ones. Mostly we got off the ship and explored the port town/city. Evening entertainment was ok, I enjoy drinking so was fairly happy with the standard beers+wines. Cocktails were a bit too strong though for us. We are booked again for 2 weeks on Explorer 2 at the end of the month and I'm really looking forward to it 🙂

Anybody tried the newer on board wifi which now uses Starlink, have they updated the prices to reflect Starlink as it should be cheaper?

Seems the restaurant booking issue is resolved as have now managed to book our dining for 30 May cruise.

I found I had to log out and log back in to see the excursions. We are going June 20th and have booked all the excursions we need. Dining does not seem to be available for us yet though.
