Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Disembarked Ovation a week ago (Caribbean cruise ). Plenty of men wearing nice golf shirts in Colonade and Earth and Ocean at night. And if you choose not to bring a sport jacket or suit for formal nights, you can feel comfortable wearing a button down shirt in these 2 restaurants plus Sushi and Solis. Boarding and disembarkation were handled beautifully. Also check out the area on deck 5 aft. A small pool, 2 hot tubs and seating in sun and shade. Also a lot quieter than main pool deck. It's a great ship and experience! Enjoy.
  2. Beautiful pictures and great video We board Constellation tomorrow. Also in an RS. Quick question about New Orleans. Google maps routes pedestrians quite far north up the Riverwalk to get out of the Julia street terminal area. Did you find that to be the case?
  3. DH and I have many Retreat sailings under our belt. Another on Connie coming up Jan 3rd. Tried YC for 4 days on the Seashore this month as an experiment. Decided its one and done. Physical spaces in YC were spacious and lovely, including cabin. Better than on Celebrity M & S class ships. But the YC food was not well prepared or of good quality. Staff tried hard but training was lacking. EX: Asked for ketchup to go with burger on embarkation day lunch - never came. Served pancakes on YC pool deck at breakfast, but requested syrup showed up 15 minutes later. One server in lounge barely understood English. All about training and management's failure to do so. The YC enclave is very nice, but leaving it and entering the rest of the ship is a wild experience. Including the elevators, loud pumping/vibrating music and visual and sensory overload. On Celebrity we enjoy the whole ship. Not so on the Seashore.
  4. Consider booking a later flight. Tampa is often fogged in this time of year. Our cruise in early Feb and another in late Jan was delayed from docking for several hours.
  5. Can you share the phone number for the excursions desk? Thank you.
  6. Currently on Constellation. Future cruise desks have been packed the whole trip. This should tell CC readers that the current passengers are happy with their cruise experience. And I suspect their happy enough with the food whatever their cabin and dining room is. Crew has been terrific. Overall a very enjoyable cruise in an almost full ship.
  7. Thank you both for replying. Didn't know if I had to log in and initiate a time slot. So long since we sailed on Seabourn and so much has changed about sailing protocols. But excited to be back on board a Seabourn ship .
  8. Tried to find this in previous posts but no luck. How/when do you get a boarding time slot? Last time we traveled on SB you just showed up. (Many years ago). We will be embarking in Dover, UK in May. Thank you.
  9. When we've made this mistake (more than once) we corrected it by canceling the excursion and then rebooting using OBC credits. Not a problem canceling out any CC charges.
  10. Have you looked at a new cruise luxury cruise line.... Explora Journeys. On offshoot of MSC. It looks very interesting and priced right for now. Sailed SS many times but having to get dressed up (men wearing at least sport jacket) on most nights got old for us. Passengers were as friendly and comfortable as any other cruise line. Haven't sailed with SS in a few years. I'm sure it's still great customer service and nice cabins
  11. Thanks for the suggestions about venues for pre-dinner drinks and info about The Source. Will download and play around. Skybluewaters I see that you are a previous Crystsl Cruiser. It was my favorite lime. Hoping we enjoy Seabourn as much. I started this thread thinking there might be a thread for new Seabourn Cruisers. I'll just have to have fun poking around the board. Thank you.
  12. Hello, We sailed SB several years ago and loved it. But likely things have changed. What tips would you give a new SB guest. Anything we should do prior to cruise (Ovation - May 2023). I Did make a reservation at TK Grill after reading posts. What else? Any suggestions about venues and activities to to engage in? What is the Source? Anything I should know specific to the Ovation? Thanks for all your suggestions.
  13. Thank you all for all the great replies and ideas to make it a real party!!! We've been in suites before but under utilized the resources available. The staff were always great and yes well compensated by us.
  14. Will be sailing in January in a Royal Suite. Can we invite friends (not in suites) to join us for dinner or lunch in our cabin since we'll have a proper table. Can they occasionally join us in Luminae? Understand there is a fee for non suites guests for Luminae.
  15. We tested + a couple of days after leaving Silhouette in Southampton. Return to US was delayed about a week in order to get Covid Recovery certificate. Important.... Make sure you plan to pack extra essential medication in case you are delayed returning home a week or two.
