Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The machines are not compatible with Nespresso pods, only Illy pods that look like this. They come in individual foil packs. If you're not keen on these, you may want to take your own coffee bags as an alternative. They do supply small sachets/sticks but they are just generic instant coffee - I think it was Nescafe on our last trip.
  2. It was great to see. We are on Journey near the rnd of trip and loved how they came into a cross shape nose first, then turned for the same shape butt first.
  3. I think Oliver Guzman (previously QM2) will be QG Maitre D' on QA at the beginning and don't know who he will be job sharing with when he goes on leave. No idea on PG at all.
  4. It's not on Enchanted. They have High Card Flush instead. Sky doesn't have it either. Let it Ride and Baccarat is on Regal. Hopefully someone else will tell you what's on Discovery.
  5. We stayed local in Messina yesterday and the weather was reasonable in the morning and rained late afternoon. We climbed the bell tower for €5pp where they do a noon "show" with the bells and Lion roar etc. Caught the Evening sailaway from Take Five bar which was lovely lit up at night In Naples today and weather is lovely.
  6. We had a formal night last night on the sea day, where we had a little rain in the afternoon and it was windy. People adhered very well to the dress code and looked fabulous. We ate in Crown Grill at 8.30pm and the meal was as good as ever. Today, we're in Kotor and the weather is great - again with some wind. 0700-1500 so a short port day. This evening is the Capt Circle loyalty drinks and white and gold night. Only 1 formal on this trip, despite 2 being mentioned, unless I've missed something and there is another formal that I can't see on the app.
  7. We're on this trip too. Used Welcome pickups from Piraeus hotel which was easy and echo the boarding procedure mentioned above. Having been to Santorini a few times, we decided to stay on board. Elite minibar items swapped for no additional charge via room service on day 1. We had lunch on boarding in Capri dining room which worked well. Lovely sunset departing Piraeus. Amalfi (aft dining room) busy at 8.30. Had to send pork back twice as very pink in the middle so wary. It's not like having steak rare, pork undercooked can cause problems. It's a very windy day day Sat by retreat pool but still sunny and 28 degrees outside.
  8. Dolphin deck on Sky Princess is an anomaly and different to many of the other Royal class ships. Enchanted is the same and we have D705 booked for this reason. Standard balconies D701-710 are a category BD grade with no couch And a large balcony. Next door to these are D630/631 and are still BD grade but small balconies. Premium deluxe balconies have 2 seater couch and are classed as D4. They are aft between the penthouse suites and have larger balconies, some are aft and some are forward on the sides. Those on the picture I posted are D711-725 and the 4 blue aft between the pink penthouses. Other deluxe balconies are grades DC-DA and have a couch and are on tge side of the ship. Hope this helps and hasn't confused anyone.
  9. There are some BD grade balconies which don't have a couch Butchers have larger balconies on Dolphin deck D701-710. If you want the couch/love seat, you will have to go Premium deluxe D711- D725.
  10. I keep calling until I get a US accent answering the call and they all seem to be Arizona - never had anyone anywhere else in the US answer in the Players Club line 1-800-772-6697. I will hang up if I don't get anyone else in the US as they dont deal with it and inevitably drop the call if they can't.
  11. TNMountains You got on Sky when we got off and being the same offer ER5, it doesn't seem to show anywhere. If you can get through to Arizona, there's a few people there who seem to be able to escalate it better than others. Your offer may expire soon, so keep nagging to get this sorted. I wasn't prepared to lose the $200pp paid or port taxes $220 and have to pay another $620 cancellation fee on top, so called every night to get this sorted out. Alan has been amazing and having him on side seemed to help. I must admit, if there were no fees to pay, I think I would have given up.
  12. I see you've had just as much a nightmare as me with your booking. I always called after 4pm on UK line to get through to USA but got Philippines mostly when transferred to casino department so waited until 8 or 10pm which helped get Arizona. Alan said they've had problems with all of the offers issued in June and July but it appears its going back to Apr/May too. Save money on calls and use Skype. I signed up for a free account. Pleased I did as I was on one call for 5hrs. I really wish we had the option of booking the offers online like those in the US.

  14. I can second the recommendation for Pan Pacific. Book directly and if you can, book a Club Room with Club Lounge access. The view, food and drink offerings are great. Have a look at Marina Mandarin as a cheaper option (think it may be called Park Royal Marina now). Again, get a Club room. The offerings are hood but not in Pan Pacific's league. If You do opt for Shangri-la, be aware there are 3 wings Tower, Garden and Valley with different price points and Club options. It's near Orchard Road for shopping. We much preferred the Marina Bay hotels for location though. It's much cheaper to book direct. Rather than with Cunard and taxis are reasonably priced.
  15. The problem is they generate the cruise booking with full price, so I have yet to see what the upgrade fee is to a BD balcony grade I've requested. I understand it's anything between $300-500pp though. Each day they create a booking with the same booking ref ive been given, which always expires the next day (as it's within final payment date - cruise sails 2 Sep). I keep emailing a jpg of the offer to someone at Princess & "OneCompany" (4th time) who try to escalate it, which should take 48hrs but the cruise gets cancelled and I have to go through it all again. Arizona are much more helpful so have to deal with them to get somewhere and drop the call if I get through to the Philippines (14 times last night) On the full fare they generate, princess plus is added and transfers - both are not required by me. From UK, we cannot log in to our our offers, it's for US only.
