Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. @DaveOKC I bet (ha) that feels good! We are going to be on the Rotterdam in a couple of weeks and I am curious about how the offers work. Would you mind telling us a bit more about your experience (what games you played, how often you played, etc.)?
  2. They replaced them with Falmouth, Jamaica and Georgetown, Cayman Islands.
  3. We will be on the Rotterdam in January and while we have had a couple of ports changed on the itinerary (Curacao and Key West were cancelled), as of today we are still scheduled for the partial transit on the Panama Canal.
  4. OK you all really helped me out here - I found out the TA had set us up for early seating and she was able to get us moved to the late (8:00pm) seating. Thanks again!
  5. Thank you all - I pinged my TA to see if we could get the late option.
  6. Hello all - I had asked a while back about whether or not the early or late seating would be better in the MDR. We finally settled on the "late" seating but I cannot find an option on the app or on the website where I can choose an MDR seating time. I do see options to reserve specialty dining. Has the traditional MDR early/late seating option been completely replaced by "As You Wish" dining? BTW this is for the Rotterdam in January. Thanks, Kathy
  7. We used to play Mah Jong as a family growing up. I am also interested to know the difference between the "American" and "Traditional" versions. I'm pretty sure we played a traditional game but I learned the rules from my parents so who knows 🙂.
  8. Hello all - My husband and I will be on the Rotterdam in January. This is our first cruise. I know that HAL has a phone app that is useful on the cruise but I am wondering if it will be a necessity. Both our phones are several years old (Samsung Note 9 and Motorola Moto ZPlay) but neither of us wants to upgrade our phones just for the trip. What are your thoughts? I'm pretty sure the Note 9 will be fine but I am not too sure about his phone. Will we be OK with just one phone that can access the app? What do people use the app for once they are on board? Thanks, Kathy
  9. We're on the Rotterdam for the January 14-26 12-Day Panama Canal Sunfarer. No email or changes to our itinerary yet but if they've changed yours I imagine we will be in the same situation. Did they mention anything about an alternative cruise stop in lieu of the Canal cancellation?
  10. Too bad. I love living vicariously through other people's cruises! I myself was hoping to see a daily activity list just to see what kinds of things we could expect to be able to do during sea days (lectures, demos, etc.). We will be on the Rotterdam in January for one of the Panama Canal trips.
  11. Hello everyone - I apologize if this question has been asked before but here goes: My husband and I are going on our first cruise together and it will be on the Rotterdam in January. We will be going on excursions every day so I assume we will out most of the day and returning to the ship late afternoon most of the time. What are some of the considerations in choosing early vs late dining vs "anytime" dining? For example, would we maybe feel rushed by early dining, or would we miss out on entertainment options if we choose late dining? Would we miss out on something special by just going with the "anytime" option? Thanks in advance, Kathy
