  1. We also became Elite and Diamond before the reciprocal program. We joined the Captains Club (was Founders Club) in 1994. We each had to pay $35.00 to join the CC.
  2. Celebrity's new tagline, "Nothing comes close. You'll never want to vacation any other way". 😁
  3. 😁 You can be Elite with zero CC ponts. You can be Diamond with zero CAS points.
  4. No need to. I know exactly what I said and all based on experiences cruising with Celebrity. 🙄
  5. Excellent advise and glad to hear it from someone who actually does this. Once our cruises are booked, I always double check what is on record, edit if necessary. No matter the embarkation port we have always had positive experiences with the crew checking us in. We've cruised out of Seattle before and like the embarkation center. We'll be back this coming September.
  6. I don't like all genres of music. I play the drums. I grew up in the good ole' USA. I have lived out West since 1973. I don't like country music and it's big here.
  7. No offense taken. I didn't post anything I couldn't back up. Unsupported statement, 🤣. I was only talking to you and not others. I nor you can say how others would take my post. Just pointing out your assumption. Come back when you can post your actual experiences cruising with Celebrity. Enjoy your first Celebrity cruise. 🍻
  8. Wrong assumption on your part concerning my comment. Wrong assumption again. What I shared was/has been my experiences. March 2023 Apex. DPV stateroom. Check in time 12:00-12:30. Port Everglades. Arrived at the port at ~10:30. Checked in at 11:00. Onboard at 11:30 October 2023 Eclipse. Standard Balcony. Check in time 12:00-12:30. San Pedro. Arrived at the port at ~10:45 Checked in at 11:00. Onboard 11:50. Both cruise we had to wait before boarding after we were checked in.
  9. And I was sharing actual experiences with you, concerning both subjects. No need to take offense. Welcome to CC.
  10. Not to rain on your parade, but the Celebrity call center reps have no idea what happens at the embarkation port. Also your 1-1:30 time is your check in time, not your boarding time. No one size fits all at each embarkation port.
  11. Is it Celebrity or the RCG making that decision? RC pulled out sometime after 2016. IMO, RCG.
  12. Our second cruise but first with Celebrity was, 1994 on the Zenith. Compared to our first cruise we thought how does it get any better than this and the Zenith seemed so huge compared to the first ship.
  13. Remember the casino/pit boss? He was more like a pitbull. Yikes! He obviously knew Kathy and I weren't gamblers. 😂
  14. We received decorations on our stateroom door and inside the cabin with a signed card and a small treat when we returned to our stateroom. We laughed about it because we forgot all about it as we booked the cruise 20 months before the sail date.
  15. That's how we roll (pun intended). In and out before the smokers turn the casino into a smoking lounge. The most I've won is $280.00 and a couple of T-shirts. Kathy, not so lucky. 🤣 I still have a couple of those gold coins the casino use to hand out to use in the designated slot machines. Useless now.
  16. Great question to be asked at the Captains Corner. 😇
  17. That's all on you where you think the value would be with your kids drinking.
  18. Agree 100%. We booked a Celebrity cruise years ago and found out later it turned into a partial chartered cruise. Called Celebrity, advised them that wasn't the cruise we originally booked, not happy with the change and the type of charter. We were allow to cancel and rebooked another cruise. Originally booked with a nonrefundable fare but didn't get charged a penalty for the change. I guess we were lucky. Not sure that would be the case today.
  19. You are wrong on your assumption concerning West Coast cruises! We've done a lot of Celebrity, RC and Holland cruises out of San Diego and San Pedro (7 plus nights) that go south into Mexico and never have been booze cruises.
  20. Agree. Can't compare chartered cruises or partial to full non-chartered cruises. Way different vibe. We would never book a chartered or partial chartered cruise.
