Just got off Discovery Princess last week. Only had dinner reservations for 2 nights. There were always 2 lines, one for reservations and one for no reservations. We never had to wait more than a few minutes even without a reservation. You can get seated quicker at a Sharing table than at a table for 2. We met some fantastic people at the sharing tables.
I just got off of the Discovery Princess. I am diabetic and found many options, sugar-free,etc. at every meal. My blood sugar did not go "high" during the whole cruise.
Our favorite restaurant is Tamarind on several Holland America ships. We have eaten there several times and absolutely love it. We have been on 44 cruises and have been avid travelers for over 50 years. My husband is a retired 747 Captain and has flown all over the world, especially to Asia, Europe and India. We love all ethnic foods!!
I make meatloaf about twice a month. My husband used to not eat it because his mother's recipe was bland. I use hamburger meat, 1 egg, Italian bread crumbs, lots of onions, worcestershire sauce, various herbs, ketchup (small amount). Then I add either sweet chili sauce or barbeque sauce. Not bland at all, and my husband loves it!
Thanks for the info. We can probably get our Uber driver to stop at either Trader Joe's or Vons on the way from LAX to the Doubletree Hilton San Pedro where we are staying the night before boarding the ship. 😊

We are sailing on th Discovery Princess on October 21. I bid just above the minimum. Got moved from Balcony BB to a Minisuite in a great location. They let me know 5 weeks before the ship sails 😁!
We are flying to LAX on October 20. Will be staying at the Doubletree Hilton in San Pedro, then boarding the Discovery Princess on October 21. Where can we purchase bottles of wine to take on the ship?
