  1. Wow if you are not 1st on board they dont feed you? Never heard that i one. The sign up for lat options is available until the afternoon of the 2nd day. Dining reservations are made on line 120 days out from sailing, changes included. As was said before I dont need a drink in my hand to enjoy myself and guzzling down one extra drink on my cruise is not worth the anxiety of worrying so much about being on buard the ship before others. I'm not an alkie. I choose to relax and enjoy my cruise rather than run around trying to do things that have already been taken care of.
  2. List is getting shorter every few years thankfully. As some have pointed iut, it won;t be too long.
  3. We don't do the Vibe. Even at the old reasonable price it was not worth the cost. Now the price is absolutely absurd, tehre is no way I woudl waste my money on that. Also I do not need a drink in my hand to have a god time! 🙂
  4. Yes, better THAN the general population IMHO as well. I'm not sure if I could do that job and be away from my family for so long.
  5. I have no dea who MCT is but the oterh poster is correct in that the DISABLED board among the very first groups and then the priority groups. I have never understood the need/desire that some people have to be the first on the ship. Yje ship is not going to leave without you and all you will be doing is sitting around for cabisn t be ready.
  6. You can book whatever you want as often as you want. We always book Cagnet's first and last night of the cruise. No problem at all.
  7. So you are warning us that NCL gets it right! LOL 🙂
  8. Bo matter which way I go THROUGH to book my excursions on board, all discounts are applied just fine. Sometimes the discounts (FAS and Latitude) are not applied until after the excursion has been completed. I have never had to stand in any lone for an excursion issue such as you are describing.
  9. My cruise partner and I purchased the vibe cabana a long time ago when it was a reasonable price, but even at that price it was more hype than anything else. Now that they have jacked the price up since then it is not even close to worth the price. WAAAY over hyped and priced way past what it is worth,
  10. Just doing it first is not good enough? 🙂
  11. It does not to me. I tip all of my servers (for example) in the same manner. Male, female, tall short, thin. not so thin, all irrelevant. I do have one favorite monthly hang out where I go to see a local bluegrass band play. Every year in December I ask my server how many people total are working that night including everyone and I leave a $20 tip for eacn in addition to my normal tip for service. Heck I don't even see most of them but its just my way of thanking them all for making my visits there enjoyable all year long. Anyway I think I may have side tracked or derailed the conversation a bit. That was not my intention. Apologies to the OP for steering the discussion in a different direction. Now lets all get back to cruising and having a great time doing so! 🙂
  12. Doesn't 'business casual' all depend on what business you are in? I always found that term to be hilarious and a tad absurd... 🙂
  13. So do I. I make sure that I have on clean jeans and a clean t=shirt for every dinner.
  14. I don't see anyone abusing anything at all. It sucks when it happens, especially if the port being cancelled is one yo are really looking forward to visiting, but 'at any time for any reason with no explanation or compensation' seems to be a rather straught forwrad and easy to comprehand concepr. I've sailed just two cruise lines (so far) and have had cancelled ports on both. The best thing the cruise line could do when a port is canclled is to just announce the cancellation and not add any explanation, no matter what it is some people will find a reason to gripe and complain.
  15. I comprehend. Sorry for misunderstanding what you were saying. I actually should have known based on the rest of the ppints you were making. Hope that you get to crusie soon and have a lovely time! 🙂
  16. Invalid conclusion. There is more to the eqiuation than than simply the numebr of ships in port. For example in this case size DOES matter!
  17. One should not count on any port when booking any cruise. Port changes can and do happen on all cruise lines.
  18. Or none of the above. In the end does it change the fact that the port was cancelled?
  19. No matter what the reason is, does it change the fact that the port is cancelled? You say you were hung up on, did you actually get to talk to someone or was the call dropped while your were in the call hold queue? Were you on a cell phone or landline? Your call was DROPPED three times. You really have no idea if anyone actually hung up on you. Bottom line is that, as we all know, ports can be cancelled at any tiem for any reason with NO EXPLANaTION required. If you do not liker that concept then quite possibly taking a cruise is not for you! It has happened on all cruise lines and will happen in the future on all cruise lines as well. Yeah it sucks when a port you really wanted to go to is dropped, but that is part of what can happen on a cruise. Go on your cruise and have a great time. Don't choose to ruin your own cruise before you even get on the ship!
  20. I like your post except for one thing. The fact a server is 'lovely' is irrelevant. Now it may be that ->I<_ misunderstood the way you intended lhe word lovely, but attractiveness has nothing to do with tipping IMHO. Thanks... BTW if you did not mean it that way I apologize for reading more into your post than what was intended.
  21. Great post. Now try explaining fixed and variable cost to everyone and the implications of each. I bet very few will get it or will argue about it. 🙂
  22. Well at least someoen understands the stock market! The only two prices that matter for any given stock are the price when you buy and the price when you sell.
  23. FYI you do not need a FUR to embark! :;)
