  1. First time trying Cunard - booked Q1 - £200 discount. Not found any agent giving more. Think I will stick with Seabourn in future 😀
  2. Hi Can anyone tell me who is the current Maitre D of the Restaurant on Ovation and when due to leave? Thanks in advance of any response.
  3. Don’t think it is the same each year; Booked November 22 for November 24 on release for Transatlantic Booked March 23 for June 24 on release for med
  4. I don’t think they will price themselves out of the market as they will still compare favourably to many luxury land based holidays - I really do believe cruise prices have been too cheap in this market for the last few years 😀
  5. Similar comments to these on the Seabourn board re the massive increases - this is not just Silversea.
  6. I get 10-11 % on Seabourn - shock when told £200
  7. Asked 3 main UK cruise agents - all say £200 - that is why I was asking 😀
  8. Hi just called to UK Cunard and advised £50 pp. If you paid $50 pp then usual rip off when booking in UK. Now thinking I should only book return when board as presumably that will be in dollars 😀
  9. What TA gives a 5% discount on Cunard? Thanks
  10. I have a large onboard credit and wish to purchase the drinks packages. Can I book online to obtain the 10% discount and then have the payment reversed and charged to my OBC once onboard? Used to doing this on Seabourn for services booked in advance 😀
  11. Just stating this is not in T&Cs as you stated 😀
  12. That is not true re T & C, they state Seabourn may allow you to rebook to another cruise of higher value. Many examples on this board where Seabourn has refused a rebooking of same cruise and not offered a reprice.
  13. Not simple to rebook if live in UK as lose deposit.
  14. Assuming you do realise these are error fares and are eventually picked up and corrected online by Seabourn - good thing is if you have booked it you are fine 😀
  15. Unfortunately it is the time consuming task of deciding areas/ship you like and checking each itinerary. Occasionally it is on this board ie when the 25 day Istanbul to Dubai November 25 was mentioned and the November 25 transatlantic crossing on Ovation.
  16. Winter 25 launched late Jan 24. I booked this summer when it launched in March 23.
  17. I wouldn’t say it wouldn’t be repeated - odd fares do come up - particularly when new season is launched 😀 I have a 30 day med cruise this summer in a Penthouse Spa for £9999 per person before travel agent and FCD discounts booked on launch day. Within 3 days of booking it went to £25000 a person, which is the more realistic price. I also found a 14 day Penthouse Spa in Far East for February 24 for £4999 a person ( before discounts) which I booked. Only took a day on that one to move to £11200 a person.
  18. The cruise you refer to was the one discussed on the boards that was offered at a ridiculously low price for the Penthouse when first advertised. The pricing now is the more realistic price that it would have been expected to be advertised at. I have booked this type of bargain in the past - it invariably increases and corrects in price later. Be glad you have a bargain on your V3 😀
  19. Based in UK. Full balance does not need to be paid to use Stockperks and have credit applied. Done it for 4 cruises booked between June and December 24.
  20. My cousin does not travel in high grade suites. The Seabourn cruise was in the Caribbean in December 23 - paid $2200 pp for 14 nights with a well known online agent and was given OBC by them (based on cruise pp price). I looked on their website and another well known discount one when she rang me and was frankly shocked at how low the price was. I personally don’t think it helps the brand going forward to be selling low cost cruises as Carnival as a company is looking to make a profit. If Seabourn is sold - the buyer surely would not be looking to maintain the product at low prices. I note that Silversea and some others have excursions which don’t interest me but even factoring that in, in my opinion Seabourn prices have been absurdly low in comparison for a 6 star cruise line looking to maintain standards. As has been noted the price of many excellent hotels have increased greatly - my usual hotel suite has increased 40% this year. If someone isn’t happy with Seabourn pricing there are many alternatives but I don’t believe they will be booking a 6 star cruise line cheaper than Seabourn 😀
  21. Obviously there are large price increases but Seabourn has actually been ridicously lower priced than Silversea for the last 2 years. A cousin of mine booked a first Seabourn cruise and said not much difference in price to her last HAL cruise with a drinks package. People moan about deterioration in Seabourn and that Silverea are maintaining better standards but actually only want to pay for a cheap product. It is each to their own if they book a Seabourn cruise but although you may decide not to book another, there are many that will. On a Seabourn cruise in January, Hotel Director told me 55 % of passengers onboard were first time Seabourn cruisers.
  22. I too hope the ship offers a transfer to Venice airport 😀
  23. Thanks for commentary. Without going into details, We carry far too many expensive items to dump luggage or take our carry ons anywhere. I was really looking for the practicality of getting from one ship to the other. Your comment about Seabourn Square has reminded me I get free transport to and from the ship and will thus ask for it to be to the Cunard check in and just sit there for an hour and a half. Thanks to everyone for comments.
  24. I can board the ship at 12 noon and have seen Rome and surrounding area many times 😀 Just looking to get onboard as fast and efficiently as we can.
  25. Booked a 30 day med cruise on Seabourn ending in Rome. Been meaning to try a Cunard grill suite and decided it was fate when I saw availability on the the day we leave Ovation. We are now faced with practicalities. There are 5 ships in the Port of Rome that day ( including the ship we leave and the ship we board). I will look to stay on Ovation as late as possible - from cruises taken recently around 9.45 - 10am. Informed by Cunard we have priority boarding as a Q1 suite. We have lots of luggage - not possible to walk even if ship close by. Internet suggests taxis are not looking to do very short journeys. Anyone familiar with Port of Rome? Anyone changed ships in a different port and has tips? Thanks for any help.
