If i book a cruise on may 15th and they were supposed to have the upgrades on the island done on may 22 and they weren't done by may 24th on my visit i'd be mad because i feel they knew they weren't going to be ready in time and should have stopped advertising the port to new bookings. This isn't unexpected weather or world events and so on. TLDR Don't open OC to new bookings until it is 100% finished.

You can do a mock booking leaving may 18th right now on seascape and it shows Ocean Cay. Maybe it isn't the first ship back but i'd be mad as heck if i booked it today and OC wasn't ready. Any time you have a cruise change to deal with and MSC. Make Sure fingers are Crossed

I'm in the buffet stuffing my face. For me drinking lots of water and a 100% fruit juice and cutting way back on meat makes me regular again.

I hope the cruise ship doesn't have its excursions screwed up. Hear me out. On one cruise passengers were having a constant protest at the service desk because the captain chose to do a u-turn kinda [left from Miami but rushed towards Tampa for the evac. 7 night cruise and all 1/4 of the passengers talked about how every single excursion is fudge because the ship did the same ports but reversed the order and they demand 100% cruise refund.

It isn't as confusing as it first seems. Some people don't go to dinner. Many tables would never be served if there was a rule everyone must go to the MDR. Just tell your tablemates the first time you are with them you may not come every night. The dining room should stop allowing walk ins 30 minutes after it opened but is often not followed or the first night or two the place is a fiasco and a longer time is fair. And the waiters should start taking orders a few minutes after people have come and take the orders of stragglers as they come in. Buying drinks for the table isn't common now imho. With the drink packages and all inclusive cruise lines now this is outdated.

As they were finishing stage one construction they realized they screwed up the docks for small boats. Either my google-fu is bad or my memory is fudged because i can't find info now. They were building a overnight anchor small boat marina and didn't listen to or hire consultants and the location picked was a cluster-fudge for small private boats to navigate and anchor in many weather conditions. Info was in one of the videos of making Ocean Cay long ago but now either i'm completely nuts or they have wiped info about the marina that was planned.

A sidetrack. You said you had the port fees cancelled because you didn't leave the ship? I haven't left the ship in Nassau, Cozumel, etc for a long time... Is it a gauranty you get your money back or only a request? I knew you get them back if you are a no show at embarkment but i figured once you walk on the ship you bought it if you go off the ship in port or not.

Yup.I use the sort by latest to newest cruises filter and randomly click on cruises to hit a few available.

I wonder about the breakfast rollmops. On my only YC they didn't have them all week. I can't find a breakfast menu but they are rolled up herring and onions. Are they the same herring and onions in the buffet and MDR for breakfast? MSC i'm so in love with loving you.

I can get into my 3 bookings using the booking numbers and my first and last name. Some docs/places my name is spelled correctly but others not. I have a cruise next month but am not at the 30 day window to do web check in. My voyager card has always been screwed up. Another thing i get is several offers a week to buy the booze and internet. I have a YC cruise and then a non YC b2b with the packages already bought. So a 3rd party vendor and MSC are a mess too with each other maybe. I don't want to miss reading a important email. I always book directly with MSC. I don't think i'd ever want to get in a mess and also have a agent in the mess. I love MSC but the website and booking system still has a long way to go imho.

I have the same first and middle name joined together problem as you and have had it for a long time. They also have my sex wrong and i haven't been about to get it fixed and i have tried for years following several different instructions they have said to follow. But they can alter it on their end each cruise so it isn't a killer. It just don't stay changed. Maybe i should get a sex change.

I'm not anti-social but i'm fine with being alone so the question about a sports bar was for wondering if there was a place with several good sized tvs and plenty of sports available on the channels not necessary to have a place to hang out with fellow sport lovers. Shows, casino, ports, spa, lounges etc... i don't care about. I'm feeling Explora isn't right for me but i'm going to track down what tv channels they have.

I almost always have gone solo and always took the cheapest cruises i could find so that was Carnival and NCL and one Costa in europe for bucket list pyramids and Nile river. I switched to MSC years ago and feel they are the best value but certainly not the best quality line. But after trying Yacht Club i have the itch for better lines. Finally the question is my cruises are pretty much drinking, eating, and watching sports on tv. I'm wondering if the tv channels out of Florida are the same as on MSC in the USA. And it seems Explora ships don't have a sports bar? If Explora isn't a good fit what cruise line is? Unless i'm reading the rates wrong it seems a few cherry picked cruises are about the same price in Yacht Club and Explora.

Dairy, fruit, veggies. I was on the final cruise of the Carnival Holiday and the cruise line was so cheap they had the bartenders boxing up 1/4 filled bottles of booze the last night and we ran out of some buffet items halfway through the 5 night cruise. The crew hates situations like this. No passengers means no tips so almost no pay. Crew have told me they won't know if their contract will be renewed until it is 24-48 hours before the end. I felt a little bit like a dumb bunny the first time i heard it and i told the worker that really stinks and so on. The worker replied they have a family to support and hope they stay on. I can imagine any cruise line and their bean counters being so cheap they don't want even for 7 nights much canned and frozen food sitting in the kitchens and dairy, fruit and veggies borderline expired before the next cruise starts.

I looked through what menus i could find and didn't see it on the regular mdr menus but i seem to remember it is available one night either there or the YC. Since the food is prepared mess hall/cafeteria style hundreds[thousand?] of people would have complained and the cruise called the great pasta and clam mutiny of 24. Or it was the late seating and they ran out and the crew didn't have the guts or courtesy to explain it isn't available. And the excursion complaint is way off base imho. It doesn't matter if the cabins are 'linked' or anything. Only the passengers in the cabin and owners of credit cards can give answers or ask questions to the crew about their cruise events.

Years ago i was in a NCL Epic solo cabin and did that because there were so many darn purple lights and led light strings. On the cruise i got very sick. I finally realized i was better during the day and always got worse overnight. The air wasn't circulating and filtering because no card and caused it. Or maybe had something in the bedding.

About 25% of the time a slight upgrade from solo inside to outside. But some of them have been to lousy areas. The worse was right next to the elevator. The elevator itself wasn't loud all the people talking while waiting and the foot traffic passed my door was awful. Open my door and 12 people are staring at me and looking into the room. I try to not book the special single person cabins. I think the bed is uncomfortable and i have no proof but think there is no chance of getting a upgrade unless maybe you have many many points.

Rub the buttons? Are they buttons or sensors? If they are buttons fold a piece of paper into a wedge shape and jam it in the activated off switch or use tape?. For the life of me i can't even remember what cruise line i was on but i had a lamp go off and on when a half filled tall 1 liter bottle of water was near it. When the sea got rough the water would move inside the bottle and trigger the sensor i guess. If it is a sensor i wouldn't put anything on that little table. Or put a piece of paper over the off sensor-or would it be the on sensor? And button or sensor maybe you just have a faulty unit or wiring etc... Maybe i shouldn't say just or only about any possible wiring problem.
