This is not what was reported by several posters here on CruiseCritic. Several posters reported a specific date in November that was the deadline to choose their alternate itinerary. No one reported being told that the offer could be rescinded at anytime. In fact, one post that I read stated that the Oceania agent told them to think about it overnight and to call back in the morning. When they called back in the morning, they were told it was no longer available to them. This was handled VERY POORLY!

JazznRuby, am also on this itinerary. Hope to see you on the Rollcall. 😃

Cancellation of cruise in the Middle East
PhD-iva replied to Hill Country Dakota's topic in Oceania Cruises
This is where I am at. I am an EX-O cheerleader (not an X-cheerleader! Sorry, couldn’t help myself!) -
I can’t get Seabourn website to work. So, no Seabourn for this gal…..

Cancellation of cruise in the Middle East
PhD-iva replied to Hill Country Dakota's topic in Oceania Cruises
According to posts from several affected passengers, they had until October 30 (?) to choose their subsequent cruise and use their FCC. I might have the date slightly wrong, however, O did rescind the offer prior to the (verbally) published date. I never heard that anyone had anything in writing from O, everything was over the phone or through a travel agent, as far as I have read. -
I was very happy with Luggage Forward last November. I read here on CC that problems arise if you pack ANYTHING other than clothes/shoes, etc. NO toiletries, creams, etc. Then you’re golden!

LOL! Your Miles May Vary Luv ya!

Cancellation of cruise in the Middle East
PhD-iva replied to Hill Country Dakota's topic in Oceania Cruises
This is where I am. I am certainly an O “cheerleader.” I have always been happy with my O cruises in spite of a few niggling things that might/might not arise. I was in the “itinerary changes are not refundable” camp. But when (apparently) O offered some FCC for those who requested it, I was happy to see them to “step up” and “do the right thing.” It’s NOT OKAY FOR O TO UNILATERALLY RESCIND THEIR FCC OFFER. What’s up? -
“Last minute” bookings and airfare risks
PhD-iva replied to Clutj's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
This is a bad idea. By the time R tickets your flights, if you’re not happy there will be limited options available. That’s a suckers bet. The pros deviate at 210 days out - this is the current first opportunity to deviate. Enjoy your cruise! -
HaHa! I use my cheapie celebrity tote bag to carry groceries in.

“Last minute” bookings and airfare risks

I think the advice you will receive on this forum is to pay the deviation fee and select/customize your flights. Its the only way to control the process. -
Cancellation of cruise in the Middle East
PhD-iva replied to Hill Country Dakota's topic in Oceania Cruises
I have been following several threads on this topic and from what I have read, no one has anything in writing from Oceania. It’s all discussed over the phone, and sometimes second-hand through a travel agent... I’m aghast at O’s rescinding their FCC offer. WTH? -
What issue(s) are you having?

“Last minute” bookings and airfare risks
PhD-iva replied to Clutj's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
There is a sticky thread at the top of this Regent forum with lots of information on Regent flights. I deviated for my 2 February 2024 BsAs to San Antonio Chile cruise. I paid an upcharge bc the flights R wanted to book me on were not v good. Austin to JFK for a 10 hour layover then flight to BsAs. No thx! Flights home are 3 flights on some South American discount (?) airlines. So, if I lived in the NYC region, I would have been happy with my pre-cruise flights…… Anyway, check out the sticky. Good luck! -
Cusco altitude on land tour, mid-cruise? Machu Picchu, etc
PhD-iva replied to ellasabe's topic in South America
Last year my cruise ended in lima. I wanted to do Machu Picchu, but I only had three days available before I had to fly home. I received very good advice that three days was not enough time to acclimate to the altitude. Five days minimum I was told. Instead, I did a private tour to southern Peru and had a great time. If that’s of any interest to you, I can send you my southern Peru write up and tour guide contact. My email is in my signature line. -
I travel solo now as DH will no longer travel. Regent is THE BEST at solo travel! Every night there was a pre-dinner solo cocktail hour on my Mariner cruise last November. Afterwards, folks without dinner plans could organize a group dinner together. Yes, we had lots of crew and entertainers join our group. So Much Fun!

Yes! I was in a lowly suite on Mariner and got a tote! Has place of pride in my WIC! Oops! Strike that! I went to take a pic of my lovely tote and saw the “Oceania” logo! Must’ve been from my recent Sirena PH! (Sheepish grin!) Ooops.

LOTS of threads discussing this topic. You have a lot of information available to you already…….just look down a few threads here on the first page. And lots more threads on subsequent pages……even if you don’t like to use the search function. Enjoy your cruise!

Cancellation of cruise in the Middle East

Many posts from pax on your sailing have stated Oceania will allow an FCC to all who request it - your TA is mistaken. Details can be found on the later posts at the end of your rollcall. You must book your cruise by November 30, and sail by December 31, 2025. Some items are said to not be refundable, perhaps upgraded flights, custom air fees. Good luck! -
My husband traveled for business to Argentina. He has horror stories from 25 years ago. Guess things never change….. PS One story I remember is, not too long after takeoff from EZE, the plane banks sharply, they dump fuel (over the ocean), and the announcer says, “We are returning to EZE for your comfort and safety.”

On the rollcall for Oceania Riviera 29 November sailing, Sailor Jack just posted this: “Just got a call from our TA - she said that she has been notified by Oceana that we can cancel this cruise and receive full credit for another Oceana cruise. Our Canadian friends have not received the same offer as of yet.” post 427
