  1. Now that makes much more sense to me because I do have...no mortgage, high credit score, high limit credit cards, etc. so if that's the criteria then I get it.
  2. Thank you for taking the time to give an explanation.
  3. Are "casino offers" only given in regard to gambling done previously on ship? I apparently booked our current as a "casino offer" (I literally had no idea I did this until I called with a question, and they transferred me over the Casino Dept and they advised such). Now we do gamble but in no way would I have figured we gambled enough to even have the Casino notice us. So, I w I mean I gamble a few hundred dollars each cruise but I still would never have assumed enough for a "offer". I only received a discount from the "casino offer" not free. I'm just quite surprised and can definitely attest that you don't have to spend much to get an "offer" of a discount from the casino.

  5. You guys have peeked my interest, what are the differences between a more "European" style to cruising and the "American" style. Not referring to the low class aspect... Just out of curiosity.... TIA.....

    Seaweed?

I visited Costa Maya late March a few years ago and they had a horrible seaweed problem that basically prohibited enjoying the beach/ocean etc. I will be visiting Costa Maya again in a few weeks (late March) and was curious if they are currently experiencing the same problem? I wasn't sure if it was a fluke event or something that happens every year etc....TIA
  7. I have booked "balcony guarantee" a handful of times. I usually did not receive the room # until about 3 weeks out from cruise (but was before time to register - two weeks out). I have only once received an upgrade to an extended balcony. But I have also not ever been upset with my location either. Definitely don't have high hopes but no need for concern IMO either.
  8. Me too!!! I've sailed three different Carnival ships in the last 3 years and yet NONE have had Shaq's. I'm almost considering a 3 nighter on an old ship just to try it LOL. Making me hungry just thinking about it......
  9. Ah remembering the days of the multiple free drink options at the Captains party on first formal night......
  10. THANK YOU the teenagers have been asking 🙂
  11. Soda packages are just per individual, does not need to be everyone in the room.
  12. It may be my error, but I don't see April's posted????
  13. Thank you for this information, this is our plan too for Costa Maya in a few weeks so appreciate the review. PS...this post will likely get moved over to the Costa Maya board.
  14. Not to say this would tip the scales on the decision but the package also includes water which I find I drink several of each day and I collect extras to bring with me off ship for excursions etc...."most" bartenders will give you a water bottle in conjunction with a cocktail bypassing the "only one drink at a time" rule.
  15. For those who have sailed this itinerary, is Belize a "tender" port? We found out this weekend that they cancelled our Carnival excursion planned for Belize and now we are scrambling to book an alternative. We are considering an outside company but wasn't sure if we should if a "tender" port etc... Also, am I correct that Belize is NOT an ideal port to just get off ship and walk around? Meaning beach, shops, restaurants etc TIA
  16. Cash onboard is only used for casino and tipping, all other expenses will be on your sail and sign card.
  17. I am REALLY going to miss Fresh Creations on the Dream this month...I'm not even a "big" salad eater and a salad is not something I generally get excited about....but there is just something about a fresh made to order salad poolside with the view that I craved it every day last year on the Panorama and looked forward to it....so yummy!!!
  18. I always bring bug stray and haven't had any issues to date.
  19. I think this in part depends on your mindset. If you go in looking for drunks, you'll find them.... if you go in looking to have a good time, you'll find that too. You can help yourself by avoiding shorter cruises and ones of the weekend. You can avoid them by where you spend your time. If you find yourself at the casino bar at 2am....of course you'll likely encounter some drunks. But on the flipside if you find yourself in the library/game room at 2pm you'll likely avoid them etc. Go with a good positive attitude and I'm sure you'll have a good time and not be bothered by those indulging in an alcoholic good time.
  20. I never brought for odor purposes, I bring for germs....I spray door handle going in and then all surfaces before anyone puts anything down or touches anything. Especially things like the TV remote and bathroom counter etc. But I do bring Poo Pourri for the bathroom too.
  21. I agree it does taste better then it looks. I don't even enjoy "funfetti" in general but LOVE this one.....sure hope they are serving it on the Dream in a few weeks!
  22. Even though she CAN attend Quest, I don't know that many would WANT TO attend Quest with their 18-year-old daughter lol....I'm far from a prude and only attended with my young adult nieces and I have never been so uncomfortable 😳
  23. Jamaica and Grand Cayman legal drinking age is 18.
  24. It was also sold out by about 1pm on the Panorama last year so it could have just already been gone.
  25. Thanks for the heads up, I have always brought a mini Lysol spray with me when cruising. I will be sure to get the wipes this next time around. I don't see the logic either.
