  1. Its personal preference. I personally still use a lanyard and find it convenient. But others like my teenage son just stick their card in their phone case et. I have though switched from a neck lanyard to a wrist lanyard in recent years. As for the phone that just goes in my bra lol as I don't wear much with pockets either. There is no set standard though and do what works for you!
  2. Everything at 2:30am (especially with a bit of alcohol) taste better!!!
  3. Your family can all pay $5 each and be able to text with one another through the Hub app. It is somewhat spotty but a cheap way to communicate with one another. You would be able to utilize with anyone on the ship with the feature (not just family).
  4. Who is the current CD on the Dream and what was your impression of that individual? We are taking the Dream out of Galveston to Costa Maya, Belize and Cozumel, do any of those destinations have different time zones then "ship time"? TIA
  5. My very first cruise as an adult (early 20's / no kids) I spent more on my bar tab then the entire cruise, excursions and spending money. I have got Cheers ever since.
  6. Congrats and Enjoy! We cruised on the Panorama last March...we are a group of single moms and all sailed with our teenage sons (they play football together) so any questions let me know. Our teens had a great time but I can warn in advance for them not to have too high expectations for the trampoline park (VERY tiny). But our group of teens thoroughly enjoyed the ropes course, sky ride, water slides and pools, bball tournament, mini putt and most of all Guys Burgers....they would literally compete with each other on who ate the most burgers that day "I had 7 burgers!!" "Well I had 8!!!" lol.... Here is one piece of advice I have...REQUIRE them go to their teen club the first night (personally I only require it night one) as its level ground and none of the kids know anyone....they will usually find some similar teens and hang out with them the rest of the trip....We barely saw ours....we required them to eat breakfast with us and dinner with us and otherwise they spent most of the time with the group of kids they met.
  7. I know this can be an unpopular opinion, but I REALLY miss REAL straws, those candy ones are disgusting and definitely can't be used in all cocktails.
  8. I agree with Sparks1093, I am financially frugal all year long munis when I am on vacation, so it's nice to have a week where I can splurge and have specialty coffees every morning and I don't worry about what something cost or how much I am consuming. It's nice if I don't like a drink, I don't feel obligated to finish it, I try more "new" drinks with the package due to this. I like paying for it months in advance so that it isn't an actual expense "on" my vacation. I like not having to lug a bottle of wine on the ship in addition to all else I carry etc. Sure, these are all little things but that's my point I don't like stressing about the little things while on vacation.
  9. I get my moneys worth with Cheers too....Between alcoholic drinks, water bottles, coffee's, milk shakes etc its cost effective for me, but certainly not for everyone. I too look at it like if you drink 5 alcoholic beverages each day and will supplement that with other beverages then it might be worth it for you too.
  10. So late night snack options would be very nice too!
  11. Good day, We fly into Houston to sail out of Galveston. Since our drink packages do not apply on the day of sailing, we plan to bring on a bottle of wine with us. My question is, how is alcohol sold in Texas? In CA you can buy 24/7 at places like a 7-11 and grocery store etc. But I know in other states there are restrictions on times/days or locations alcohol can be purchased. What is the case in Texas? TIA
  12. I always say I am going to eat at the SS but haven't yet, but my cruise mates always go for a lobster roll (we are from CA so not spoiled by East Coast versions) and enjoy them. I plan to give it a go this coming cruise in March. I have heard its better to go to the SS early in your cruise vs. last day etc due to freshness but can't speak to that personally.
  13. We cruise Spring Beach every year but with our teenage children. I like the more "lively" atmosphere and the kids meet more friends etc. But if I did not have kids with me or I was looking for a quiet vacation, I would not cruise during Spring Break.
  14. Is there one or two formal nights on a 6 night cruise? And if one I assume first full day at sea night? If two, when is the second? If it makes a difference, we are on the Dream sailing to Costa Maya, Belize and Cozumel. TIA
  15. Which ships have Fresh Creations up at the adult pool? I thoroughly enjoyed Fresh Creations on our Panorama cruise last year (more than I thought I would) but I know it's not on all ships. Specifically, we are sailing on the Dream, so I guess atm I only want to know if they have it on the Dream lol. TIA
  16. I have done exactly this post covid. That being said I do think there is no "one" answer to this question, I think it entirely depends on ship/circumstance/employee/crowd etc. Last Spring Break we traveled with my sons football friends. He was 11 and ALL the other boys were 12 so of course he wanted to be in the same club with all his buddies. I went to the club first chance after they opened first day, with all his friends and explained the circumstances and they bumped him up. Now did it matter that he was only one month away from being 12, did it matter that he was already 5'6/mature for age, did it matter that I proved that he had a bunch of buddies in the older group I have NO idea but they did agree to move him up, but there are a dozen similar stories that they did not agree to bump the child so as others have said try but don't assume and prepare the child accordingly.
  17. Our sailing for today on the Panorama has been delayed by three hours. Does anyone have experience with similar delays? How does it work? Do they simply push back the dinners and the shows? Do they still have the buffet open when you get on? Will they still have a sail away party? Can I still get my funfetti cheesecake lol? I’m anticipating long lines and a stressful situation.
  18. Thank you all for your replies. Have they advised at all what time disembarkment will begin?
  19. I am set to sail tomorrow on the panorama and we just received an email stating that the boat has experienced adverse weather conditions and will be coming in late and they will let us know what time tomorrow we will be boarding. Is anyone on the ship currently and can advise on the situation? Thanks in advance.
  20. I too agree that the Spirit class has the best ratio of space per person and feels the least crowded regardless of percentages.
  21. I would register the child as spelled on the birth certificate. Assuming the child won't be showing any other form of ID that would contradict the spelling on the BC I would just avoid the hassle of it being an issue.
  22. I live in San Diego so Long Beach couldn’t be more convenient but I am so over the Mexican Riviera and have done that same itinerary more then I’d like to count. I’d love new destinations out of the west coast but geographically I understand the dilemma.
  23. Has anyone ever had their melatonin gummies (or other vitamin gummies) mistaken for adult special gummies? I packed last night and just put my melatonin gummies in a non-discript ziplock baggy and now am a bit worried they will be misidentified???????
  24. Thank you for your review!!! We get on board Saturday and this added to our excitement!!!
