I might not express myself always the most diplomatic but as you know, the truth somethimes hurts and I am touching sensitive topics here, you don't need to comment but give it a though:
That the eating habits in the US are considered as very unhealthy and probably the most unhealthy in the Western World is a fact. If you go into windjammer for instance and you see what people load on their plates the saying "You are what you eat" perfectly applies. Unfortunately the US has many propblems and the food issue is just one of them, maybe also connected in a way to the bad or almost inexistent healthcare system same as for almost inexisitent employer rights. No country is perfect but it is such as shame that this "great" America that might have existed in the past is becoming always more a banana republic. Another examples the guns, how many 1000's of additional civilians need to be killed that the american people and their politicians will implement strong laws against weapons.
there will need to remain a option on board where a relatively large crowd can be fed fast, hence it will still be more effective to have staff serving food to plates than adding another sit down venue. They will just need to limit the amount of guests in the venue and have staff serving them. Also the concept could be adjusted for the salad bar and burgers into a made to order, where you have one counter to order and another one to pick your meal up once your number will be called / shown on the display (ticket system). At the other stations same setup as today you would just have a staff member serving the food onto oyur plate instead of you taking it yourself.
Your arrogance and stereotyping are very rude and condescending. Please bear in mind that there are also stereotypes of Europeans, and just like for Americans some are true and some are not. it appears that you are the type who probably gains their information from news media, which usually has a reason for their slant on it.
When you are bashing Americans please think of the many, many who gave their lives for YOU in WWI and WWII. Also, it the U.S. who pays way more than our fair share into NATO to protect Europe because most European governments do not.

I completed our check-in using the RCCL app for Oasis of the Seas and when the Set Sail pass comes up it says "Expedited Arrival", so can anyone tell me what the difference is between this and regular check in during embarkation.
Thank you in advance for any information.

I'm also on this sailing. Just booked the cruise at the end of August. Booked a Bella balcony and bid for a suite upgrade. My upgrade was successful as of a few days ago. Friends of ours are booked in two Bella balconies and their cabins have not been assigned either. I am also an agent and called MSC last week - rep said that assignments are usually made at the four-or five-day mark or they may get their cabin at check in. Assured me that our friends reservations are fine and "they will have a bed to sleep in and a place to put their head." Also said that because of all of these promotions lately, the inventory department is backlogged. When I called last week, my own cabin had not been assigned yet either. Also had some BDM's contact MSC and was told that the assignments would probably come "this week" but that was last week. Mine came through but not our friends. I've always booked MSC guarantees and assignments were always made by three weeks to departure.
Thanks for the information. I actually called customer service today and was told they were behind due to the Meraviglia and might be as close as 3 days out. I think I will call again tomorrow just to check again, will probably be given a different reason why they behind. Personally I have always had the cabin assignment several weeks out at a minimum.
I might have of coincidently replied to you another topic.

Curious when your Bella cabin was assigned. I am sailing this Saturday and won an upgrade from a Bella Balcony to a S2 Suite. My cabin was assigned a few days ago. Friends of ours are traveling with us and booked two Bella balconies for three people (same reservation number) and their cabins still have not been assigned. MSC says it usually comes at the four-or five-day mark or it may be when they get to the ship.
I, too, would love to know what cabin you had.
jvdmd
Just to add to your question above, I also am also sailing this Saturday with a guarantee cabin not assigned yet. I called customer service today and was told they are running behind due to the Meraviglia and could be 3 days out when assigned.

At this point, the only available cabins for booking are:
YC1 Yacht Club Deluxe Suite
SJ3 Aurea Suite with Whirlpool Tub
S3 Aurea Suite
S2 Fantastica Suite
B3 Aurea Balcony Stateroom
B2 Fantastica Balcony StateroomNo guarantees are available to book. Doesn't mean that you'll get one of these though. Be sure and come back and post when you are assigned!!
It appears to be look good for a upgrade, thank you.

Guarantee cabins can be assigned at any time up to and including boarding.. patience
In general, most cabins are assigned by about 4 days or so before sailing. You may or may not get an upgraded cabin, but you don't get the upgraded Experience items.. ie if you booked a Bella cabin, and get upgraded to an Aurea cabin, you don't get the Aurea perks, just the room.
Thank you.

Hello! I'm also on this sailing (and I'm a TA). I called the TA number yesterday and was told that they can assign a guarantee cabin up until 1 day prior to sailing, eek!!
I'm in a Bella Balcony gurantee and can see their inventory. There are none of those left, so atleast I'd be upgraded to a Fantastica Balcony.
What kind of guarantee category are you?
Thanks, we did a Bella interior cabin.

I have a quick question for anyone who has recently done a guarantee cabin on the Seaside. We sail next weekend Oct 12, but haven't had our cabin assigned as of yet, so I was wanting to see when others may have of had their cabins assigned, and any luck with upgrades. Thanks in advance for any information.

Kidless, we used the screenshot view from RCCL showing the first name and status as you mentioned, however I also did a second partial screen shot under accounts where it shows your name and account information. I put both screen shots onto one word document with a notation at bottom of first page showing a continuation to page 2. Had no problem at all, I called MSC a couple days to follow up and they looked it up and completed the status match while on the phone.

Wanted to see if anyone who has used Uber or Lyft after cruise at the Port of Miami has been charged surge pricing?
Thanks in advance for any information.

I just booked a cruise last week and went online and did the status match the next day. After a week I called MSC to check on the status match and they did looked up my submission and completed it while on the phone. The she added it to my booking and the 5% was refunded back to my credit card almost the same day.
You will have no problem with them crediting it to your cruise after the fact.

I was wanting to see if anyone knew of any shuttle buses, or similar, that goes from Miramar Florida to Port of Miami. I figure that this might be cheaper than parking at the port, due to the close distance.
Thanks in advance for any information.

I have not been on Anthem of the Seas in a few years and have a couple of simple questions.
What floor do you disembark from?
With regards to the 4 complimentary main dining rooms, is there there a difference in the menus between them?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Thank you both for the information.

This ferry lands at West 39th street .... over 10 blocks below the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. I only would suggest trying a taxi or Uber from the ferry. From your post I am not sure what you are doing with your car.
Thanks for the info. As far as parking I wasn't sure if I could park at the Weehawken ferry terminal, but I haven't found out that information yet, I probably am overlooking it on there website.

We will be leaving Sept 05 on the Carnival Horizon and am trying to see if there is a better way than going thru the Lincoln Tunnel. We will be coming from the south on I-95 and was wondering if taking the Weehawken Ferry would be a good option.
I wasn't sure if this would avoid any traffic congestion or time or if taking a couple pieces of luggage each on to the ferry on a weekday late morning would an issue.
I wasn't sure if I would be able to walk from the ferry terminal on the Manhattan side to the cruise terminal.
Any information on availability of parking on the Weehawen side would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any information.

From your many post it is obvious you have a unhealthy hate and disdain form America, please keep it yourself. I do not believe you are anymore qualified to judge Americans than I am to Europeans.
