It was on Odyssey in Dec.

Service in CK is hit and miss like most other dining venues. The atmosphere is usually a bit more intimate as it's a smaller venue but It can get overwhelmed at times and I found the food honestly isn't any better than the MDR. It's not a true suite dining room like on Celebrity.

T There is a HUGE difference between south Florida and Galveston. Heck I live in Central Fl and it's a huge difference between south FL just 3 hrs south of us. Now go to North FL/Panhandle...pretty much same plane as Galveston and it frequently drops down into the 20-30's in winter. All you need is one hard freeze or even a good frost and it raises havoc on the landscape. Here in central FL we get several frosts and freezes every winter....but that doesn't happen in South FL. Port Canaveral probably escapes most of these issues due to fact that they are right on the Atlantic and even just a few degrees difference can make a big difference. I have boarded in Tampa where temps were just at Freezing.

Help with hotel in Fort Lauderdale during spring break

You chose well 😉 -
Your telling me!!!!

I am sure you are probably correct although I would have thought they would have caught and corrected it by now. I once found, booked and sailed in the Royal Suite for a week on Oasis for $1499/pp...it was a clear mistake , my assumption they forgot to add a zero when inputting...I am sure it was supposed to really be $14,990/pp....that was the BEST FIND ever!!!

Great find for $28..I just looked and booked for my upcoming Odyssey sailing. I am thinking it's a Royal screw up since they have both Teppanyaki and Hibachi priced the same. I just paid over $100 for 2 last month (booking pre-cruise also) for Teppanyaki on Odyssey...so grab it while you can.

Coastal Kitchen, Odyssey of the Seas - Junior Suites

I have never had a problem getting into CK for dinner on any ship when staying in a JS...pre and post COVID...I do dine a bit later in time frame...8-8:30PM. -
Should I Sail on Allure or Harmony?
bajathree replied to CruiseLoverFromNorCal's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Harmony is newer and had slides...Alure never got retrofit to update to other Oasis class ships. Harmony does not have a pool in the solarium like other oasis class ships. -
Coastal Kitchen, Odyssey of the Seas - Junior Suites

The above is correct...I had no issue dining for dinner in Coastal Kitchen while in a JS aboard Odyssey. I just went to Coastal Kitchen on embarkation day and made reservations. -
Yes, I have taken Silver from Tampa to FLL...but not since pre-covid...and even then they had frequent delays. While it's a very quick approximately 35-40 minute flight time...like others have mentioned it takes time to drive to the airport...have to arrive early...go through security and then transport to the ship once at Fort Lauderdale. In reality you really aren't saving any time...other than the 3.5hr "physical drive" from Tampa to FLL...it's a trade off. Also these are small prop planes...not full size jets like on Southwest Tampa-FLL.

Was on Odyssey in Dec...the only show that was available pre-embarkation was for The Book...it showed up in the planner about 1 month prior to sailing.
-
Alhambra is a must see....gorgeous palace and surrounding property and gardens.
-
Stick with a cabin close to the forward or mid elevators/stairs. Anything located mid hump is an excellent location. Stay with deck 7-12. If you are interested in a JS any of the J4's center ship on the hump all have s separate walk in shower as well as a separate tub with a split bathroom set up.

Was on Odyssey in Dec. The 2 big shows are The Book and The Effectors. The Book opened for reservations about a month ahead of time in the on-line planner...I don't remember the Effectors requiring reservations or at least it opening for reservations prior to boarding. The Book is very good both with the performing and special effects. The Effectors had some great special effects but it's really more a kids show IMHO. What I found odd is the times they had for most of the entertainment on Odyssey...they were pretty much always conflicting whether you had early or late dining.

Where to Wait for Someone Arriving at Tampa Cruiseport
bajathree replied to macor's topic in Florida Departures
There is no free parking around Sparkmans Wharf....both the adjacent Garrison parking lot and the Channelside parking garage charge a fee.....as well as street parking is metered. -
Miami Port Hotel with free cruise parking?
bajathree replied to LMHSRN's topic in Florida Departures
I would be concerned my car would still be there or in one piece when I returned. I am sure that these hotels have little to no security in their parking lots and that thieves are familiar with the hotels that people leave cars at for a week at a time while they are off cruising....just saying. -
The days of any dress code enforcement seem to be gone on Royal....not necessarily for the good either. On my recent Odyssey sailing people were in the main dining room in shorts and t-shirts for dinner. There were people in windjammer barely dressed wearing bikinis, some even g-strings with very see through coverups during breakfast, lunch and even dinner. I never saw anyone ever tell anyone anything...even if they walked into the solarium cafe in swimwear and still dripping wet. It seems like pretty much anything goes.

What is the priority boarding for Diamond PLus?
bajathree replied to tampadee's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There is no longer any priority to board the ship for diamond plus (at least not Port Everglades). As far as the check-in time....on my last 2 cruises...Port Canaveral and Port Everglades they didn't even pay attention to the check-in time assigned. -
Over 20 sailings on oasis class and 2 now on Odyssey. My next is back on Odyssey again. Oasis class just played out for me...after sailing Odyssey I much more appreciate the fully enclosed solarium and even though it's a big ship smaller feel compared to oasis class. Much better Windjammer on Odyssey that I can't stand on Oasis class and never used. Love the 270 area as well as cafe 270...great ship.

Got mine around second week of Dec.
