  1. The ones I had were like soda cans...no reseal.
  2. I have stayed in both. If you are more than 2 people then I would go for the 2 bed ATS for sure....there is little to no privacy in the CLS if you have children. As far as location the CLS wins out...it's a really long walk to the very aft of an Oasis class ship and you are among regular cabins verse a private suite area with the CLS. The balcony of the ATS is something to experience. As far as noise it is a bit noisier in the ATS verse the CLS but it's minimal.
  3. I don't like the cans....cant reseal once opened.
  4. Call....online is a waste of time for a casino booking.
  5. Have to agree with you....dont like the idea that you may not be notified till the evening of embarkation...I wouldn't want to have to repack and move once settled in.
  6. Sounds to me like what they are saying is while you didn't win you're Royal Up bid.....there still may be a last minute chance for your upgrade if some cabins open up on boarding day from no shows.
  7. Hertz is located at the Tampa Marriott Water St. If they don't have a shuttle you can take a very quick free trolley ride to the port from the Marriott....it's also in walking distance if you don't mind a 15 minute walk.
  8. This may help you http://www.theportoftampa.com/rental-cars.htm
  9. Yea....strange. Either the tests are always correct or something else going on.
  10. I would look to stay in the Downtown or Channelside area for convenience to the port, restaurants and attractions. Some of these hotels are a very quick free trolley ride to the port. Marriott Water Street, JW Marriott Water Street, Westin Harbor Island, Hyatt Place Downtown, Home 2 Suite Channelside, Hampton Inn Channelside.....these are just some I would recommend.
  11. Isn't Quantum having propulsion issues? Something sounds suspicious.
  12. Amtrak has a train from Kissimmee to Tampa that is pretty cheap. As for hotels I would recommend staying in the Channelside or Downtown area....many hotel choices. Both are very convenient and close to both the Tampa Amtrak station and cruise port.
  13. Yea....but has an awesome view on Odyssey!!!
  14. Yes...agree....that is why was almost certain that she had COVID but all tests showed negative. Maybe since she had previously had COVID a year earlier the flu maybe triggered that loss of taste and smell again...no idea. But 2 home tests and a PCR test all showed negative COVID but flu positive....weird.
  15. Unless you want to be by the beach....Clearwater or St Pete Beach I would recommend also staying in one of the same hotels. There is lots to do right near...RiverWalk...Tampa History Center....Tampa Aquarium...Modern Art Museum ....a trolley ride to Ybor City....visit Armature Works for some great food and drinks. If you go to Ybor make sure to visit Columbia Restaurant if you want some great Spanish food....historic Tampa restaurant that just received Michelin recognition.
  16. Since it's only one night I would recommend staying in Tampa closer to the port....also more to do IMHO. I would suggest looking to stay in the Downtown/Channelside area. These are both within a very short distance from the port....depending on which hotel some you may be able to even take the free trolley from hotel to port. Some hotel recommendations would be Marriott Water St...JW Marriott Water St...Embassy Suites Tampa Convention Center...Westin Tampa Waterside...Home 2 Suites and Hampton Inn Channelside. All of these hotels I suggested are in walking distance or a free trolley ride to many restaurants and bars....also within 10 minutes or less to the port....some you can also just take the free street trolley from hotel to port. As for transport from airport to hotel...I would suggest Uber XL or Lyft. Depending on traffic you are looking anywhere from 30 minutes up to get from PIE to Downtown Tampa.
  17. Considering the distance, time frame and unpredictable traffic I would stick with a ship excursion to get to Disney.
  18. Uber or Lyft or check out SAS Transport to get from FLL to your Miami hotel pre-cruise.
  19. Having lived right on Las Olas for a few years....it is pretty quiet for thanksgiving. The Floridian wouldn't be my dinner choice (great breakfast choice) and I can't answer if they are even open Thanksgiving. Since you are staying right at the beach at the W I would suggest having dinner right in that area as it will be pretty much business as usual by the beach hotels on Thanksgiving. There are lots good restaurants right around the W. Steak 954 right at the W is excellent. You may also want to check out S3 right across the street from the W at The Hilton.
  20. I have been following due to having an 8 night sailing scheduled on Mariner for June. Sailing has been showing pretty much sold out for a while now. I know June is BIG family time so expected this would be a busy sailing. However after reading about understaffing issues, bad food, and now lots covid cases...not so sure I want to be on an 8 night near full capacity sailing with 4 sea days.
  21. I just heard a report yesterday thats exactly what Cunard is doing....cancelling people to lower capacity since their service isn't currently up to par to what they are known to offer. I hear that for people they cancel they are offing a full refund with I believe a 25% future cruise credit good till the end of 2024.
  22. Thats absolute nonsense. Inflation is off the wall and the price of living has gone crazy.....but let's stay home and not work!?!?!?!?!. When did everyone win the lottery and become millionaires and not have to work anymore. This is yet another COVID excuse....no one wants to work🙄
  23. It's being reported that pretty much all the cruise lines are understaffed right now. I agree they should have not increased the capacity if they are have staffing issues. I just heard yesterday that Carnival is closing down some of their restaurants across the line due to staff shortages. So sick of all this COVID crap...it's like it has become the excuse for poor service. I was on 3 sailing since the restart....first 2 sailed at just around 1000 passengers....were some of the best sailing I had. The 3rd was Allure with around 70% and thats where I noticed the decline....the food was also terrible on that sailing.
