  1. It would be somewhat larger, but, speaking for myself only, I wouldn't bother. After years of hearing people talk about how small the balconies on the Royal class mostly are, we got one on the Majestic a couple of years ago. It was small, but it was fine for the two of us. As long as both of us can get out there and sit down, it's fine with us.
  2. I would definitely get that cabin again. It's tucked back in the corner, so people don't actually walk in front of the window, even though you do see them passing by during the day. The stairs have always been closed at night. You can get directly out onto the upper promenade deck by just going forward from that cabin and going out a couple of doors. It's quiet there, and I don't recall hearing any noise from the Princess theater. The view is looking out across the deck and the top of the stairs, which is fine with me.
  3. We're on the Sky at the end of next month. We have cc, and the app still shows us in Estrella. Since we all know that the app is infallible, we must still be in Estrella. 😂
  4. On one sailing, and only on that one, I got a notification in the app that I could add a second 1 person package for $20 for the entire trip. This was the first or second day. I didn't do it, since we didn't really need it, but I thought it was a good deal.
  5. We've seen the frosted ring donuts on all our recent cruises. I couldn't care less about those. What I do care about and what's been gone is the little custard or jam filled donuts. I miss those little balls of happiness!
  6. You'd think so, wouldn't you? Instead, we're at home. The service provider "upgraded" the service in our neighborhood yesterday. I'm not currently seeing any benefit in that. 😂
  7. Duplicate post. Internet problem woes around here this morning.
  8. The packages don't make financial sense for us. We do better just paying for the things we actually use.
  9. I wonder how soon this will filter out to all Princess ships. Could be a while. Or not.
  10. I noticed this some time last week, I think. I can't see that anything changes for Grand and Royal class.
  11. I posted this after our Discovery sailing back in August of 22. Not sure if the same items will be on the Enchanted, but this might be some help.
  12. This is all good information. We're on the same Sky Princess sailing as rjack22 on February 25. We're flying Southwest (I know, I know. But I was able to get the most acceptable flights on Southwest and I booked us before the meltdown.) We have Early Bird for check in, not that this gets you much. The Early Bird will check us in and get our boarding group automatically. Does anybody have experience with EZ Check when flying Southwest? I'm wondering if there're any pitfalls to watch out for.
  13. So, if you move the third person over to a new cabin with the fourth person, then what you end up with is two cabins with double occupancy. Your free third person would go away, wouldn't it? This is an interesting scenario, and I'm looking forward to whatever happens here.
  14. While I'm not sure either if the reservation system is always followed, we did see several people getting told that their reservations were for a different dining room and that they should go there. This was on the Ruby last April.
  15. This probably won't be much help. We've had a forward cabin on Marina deck for Alaska and Mexican Riviera cruises. We never felt much motion at all. You'd be two decks higher, so it might be a bit more.
  16. Edit: I spaced the part where you said "without the app." As far as I know, you need to do this in the app, otherwise you'll be notified that they've assigned you a boarding time based on your location. I'll leave the below in here, just in case it can help somebody else. Go to Personal Information and Documents from the main screen. Scroll down past Required Information to Suggested. Choose Arrivals. If you have more than one cruise booked, you'll need to choose the ship/sailing. On the Arrivals screen, you'll see arrival groups and times if they're available. You don't say when you sail, but if they're not available just keep checking back.
  17. I get this from time to time, and I just try again a few times. Mostly, things work then. YMMV. I think they have some fundamental flaws in their website coding, and that's causing intermittent, squirrely errors.
  18. This is absolutely true! We had a cabin there once. Never again.
  19. Good to hear, but that's not what I've seen. I imagine this will make a lot of people happy.
  20. There's no room service on the last morning. Recommend buffet if you're looking for fastest, but they move you through in the mdr very quickly that last morning. If you decide on mdr, you might want to order whatever is the featured dish. That comes out faster.
  21. Could very well be. Just bringing language into alignment.
  22. I noticed that on our upcoming cruises. Hmmm indeed. I can't see that anything changes for cc minis on Royal Class ships, but there could be something in the works or I might have missed something.
  23. Wind is certainly an issue with these cc minis, but on our recent Alaska cruise on the Discovery in M107 I was nearly always able to find a place on the very large balcony that I could sit out of the wind. I imagine this will vary considerably, depending on where the ship is and where it's going.
  24. This question turns up here on a regular basis, and it is, as you say, an opinion question. Most people like midship cabins, and most CC cabins are midship, mid-aft, mid-forward. The only exception to that is the Royal Class ships, which have four CC minis on high decks, all the way forward. If you're on a Royal Class ship and can't stand motion, then you probably shouldn't bid for the upgrade. Not likely you'd end up with one of these four, but it's always a mistake to confuse the unlikely with the impossible. If you're either not on a Royal Class ship or don't mind motion and you're fine with the cost, then I can't think of a downside. It's well worth it to us if we can get one of the four forward-facing CC minis on Royal Class ships since we like those cabins so much. It might or might not be worth it to us on one of the other class ships, although the immediate seating in the MDR is a big deal with my hubby.
