  1. What about all those who in the past have posted on here and other forum, "oh just turn up when you like, Thats what I do" These people are part of the problem.
  2. Black and white night does not happen now. However on the ships where it did, the final formal night still feels like B&W night as all the ladies still wear B&W well certainly on Aorora and Ventura last year.
  3. Hi Andy the theatre bookings have been available since last Thursday and the Limlight from Friday. I am assured by my better half who actually goes to the shows that the middle one 8.30 is usually fuller than the late on,10.30. It appears that that is all that caan be booked precruise. Unlike on the big ones when other restaurants can be booked. Are you packed yet? Our cases go on their holidays tomorrow with the BHC.
  4. You do all realise that linking bookings together only gets you a table in the MDR. it in no way links anything else including cabins. So on Iona & Arvia there is no point at all in doing it.
  5. The main problem for me on Aurora are the lack of automatic doors to get out on to the prom deck. The cabins are fine (accessible) and getting out on deck 12 for the pool and buffet are good as well. Getting out on deck 13 is a challenge. On Iona it was a breeze.
  6. I think we both agree that Iona/Arvia are so much better than all the other ships for disability access. I had not noticed it so much before but the contrast was stark when getting off Aurora and going on to Iona.
  7. I have never seen a cruise on P&O apart from the big 2 where there was not 2 formals per week. sometimes the name changes ????? but always 2 per week. I would always assume a mistake had been made in your position. Oh some long cruises 35 nights or more may have less than 2 per week. on ours we have had 9 per 35 and 7 per 35.
  8. I would expect you will be given second sitting club dining. That is the one which seems to be least popular with first sitting the most popular.
  9. When we use a suite if we want food we will pre order. If we dont then we have to expect a wait. That would be on any ship not just bthe big 2.
  10. No one forces you to pay for a suite.
  11. Keel and cow breakfast was excellent.
  12. Quite ridiculous, If you book select you can opt for Club 1st or Club 2nd or freedom. If you book saver you can get freedom or club 2nd. asx the saver cuisers will be slotted in and as I have said what is popular on a cruise will determin what you get.
  13. Wrong The most popular dining is club first sitting. It has been for some time. Freedom is next and then club dining second sitting. When we started cruising 22 years ago second sitting was most difficult to get. There was a change about 10 to 15 years ago, difficult to pin that one down. From my experience freedom is not the most favoured dining option and the proof is that so many people try to turn freedom into first sitting. Whatever you say is not up for discussion. Clearly you don’t like those facts as they do not fit your narrative.
  14. Shhhhhhh. Forums have ears.
  15. The booze package is not for you, or us. You would have to drink a great deal, every day to make it worth wile. I like a drink and for one or two days i could drink enouth but not for 7/14 or longer nights.
  16. Thats because it never got that nickname perhaps only in you household. Not on any forum I have read and I do read a lot
  17. As it happens as a scooter user I now say I wsish Aurora/Arcadia/Ventura could be more like Iona. Light years ahead of the others. I agree about each new ship being castidated by cruisers. I remember some clown on the old P&O forum on their site who said that evryone agreed that Arcadia would be sold within the year. that was in 2006.
  18. Fully agree, which is why we have booked Arvia in May and Iona Oct. we would even consider Iona for the long 35 night Caribbean although we do like Ventura for that cruise.
  19. Not sure how you make that out?? Set dining is still very popular especally first sitting which is why there is a problen with freedom, on all P&O ships, as so many want to go early there is a long queue and always has been and of course you can now book the erarly slot for the whole cruise, certainly on Iona. You are way off the mark with you assessment of the situation. Do not forget that on the big 2, the age of passengers is still high out of the school holidays.
  20. You are confusing Iona and Arvia. I have not seen many complaints about Iona.
