  1. Hi there, my cousin will be flying to Barcelona next November to pick up a cruise. She will be flying from Toronto and there seem to be no direct flights. There are a choices regarding where she can pick up her connecting flight: Frankfurt, Brussels, Zurich. Which would be the best and why? Thanks!
  2. We were actually on this cruise,! I still remember being woken up in the middle of the night and having to leave our cabin. Quite surreal but happy that it all ended well. The captain did let us know… if I remember correctly… that things were going to be ok which we were grateful to know and appreciated.
  3. Just recently on a Canada/New England cruise and they definitely asked us more than once if we had it.. as we were boarding and at the beginning of the cruise before we arrived in Canada. Help was offered for anyone who needed it. We never had to show physical proof but I have no doubt that they would have known if we hadn’t filled it in since it’s linked to the passport.
  4. Hi there, My sister is scheduled to take the cruise starting in FLL and heading up to Quebec City. The date is July 23rd. I hope that you don't mind a few questions that she has (I haven't travelled since the pandemic so I'm no help)! 1. If her cruise starts Saturday does she fill in the ArriveCan today or tomorrow? 2. Her antigen test is scheduled for tomorrow but what happens if she fills in the ArriveCan app and tests positive? What happens to the receipt and does she have to notify anyone that she won't be travelling? 3. She lives in Ottawa but after the cruise she plans to stay two days in Montreal at a hotel before taking the train back home. In the app it gives you the choice of choosing Returning HOme or Hotel etc..it doesn't seem to let you choose both so I'm assuming that she would choose return home since that is where she will ultimately be? Thanks so much for your help..on her behalf and on mine!! I've learned so much from reading your posts!
  5. Just trying to upload proof of vaccination and I get the message that it’s pending approval..it’s been a couple of days now..is this a glitch that I’ve come across or is this normal wait time? Everything else went smoothly but I know that others encountered issues as well… Thanks!
  6. This is such a good point..I think that, despite everything, people are far from ready to say “enough is enough”.. Judging from the comments that I’ve read on other forums people are very willing to be accommodating and patient and not ready to demand that Princess take some responsibility for their disappointing and frustrating experiences. Also loyalty perks might soon not be a reason to stay..they are slowly fading away with hardly a whimper from anyone…why would Princess stop doing what it’s doing when its worked so well so far?
  7. I haven't used Aeroplan miles for a while (last time was to purchase business class seats from Vancouver to Sydney Australia..worth ever point!)..I was lucky to get them because I know that they go fast..since it's so far out what happens if the cruise gets cancelled..are the miles refunded and is there a penalty? I'm hoping to go back to Australia next year and should start looking for those seats!!
  8. thanks very much for your response! I think the five days were mentioned by those who had had to quarantine on past cruises and were reporting back but I don't know if it was accurate or not..I will definitely follow up with Princess and see if they can give a definitive answer..and keep fingers crossed that things don't change!!
  9. Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone can clarify..my sister and her friend will be on a Canada/New England cruise this summer. The cruise ends in Quebec City and they will be taking the train back home to Ottawa. My question is: If one of them tests positive near the end of their cruise would Princess cover their hotel stay for five nights as is the case now..even if they are not flying home? I know that the current Princess policy is that they will cover 5 days of hotel quarantine stay once you are off the ship and by then hopefully people will test negative so that they can fly back home. I'm not sure what would happen to anyone who is not flying back but still needs to quarantine. Their plan is to take a train to Montreal and stay a couple of days but if they have to quarantine that would change things...would Princess still be responsible? Thanks for any thoughts (or experiences) that you might have.. Camelia
  10. Interesting.. a few years ago when we were docked in Honolulu I bought a whole bag of papayas since I was tired of the same servings of fruit every day on board. I didn’t even think that it might not be allowed and no one stopped me or even questioned me about it when I boarded.. not sure if rules changed or if they just missed it.
  11. Thanks for hearing your experience. I’ve found in the past that things were different from ship to ship but I haven’t cruised post Covid so curious..!
  12. I wanted to thank you again for this advice. I passed it on and she checked daily and yesterday she finally saw that they had added a third DR just as you mentioned! She was able to book a private table at 6 which is her preference. Now another question would be: when she boards and goes to the dining room - will she be getting the same table each time or will she be moved around..I suppose she can request it?
  13. Thanks very much for this information..she will be on the Caribbean Princess. I will pass on your suggestions. It looks like there are just two dining rooms available for now.
  14. My sister is sailing in July. She just tried to select a dining time on the App and if she wants to eat at her own private table her first option is 8:40 p.m.. If she wants to eat earlier she would have to share a table. She doesn't want to share and 8:40 is too late for her so..what are her options when she boards? Would she be able to reserve for dinner when she's on the ship (or would there even be any times available at that point)...would she have to line up in the old way and be prepared to wait to get seated? Or.. is she doomed to eat dinner at the buffet or specialty restaurants? It's hard to believe that all the earlier slots are all booked when it's still 70 plus days out and yet it's too early to book an arrival time!
  15. Thank you, I will let her know to be a little more patient!
  16. Just curious…..how far in advance are you able to choose an arrival group? My sister sails in July and when she tries to choose a group it tells her that it’s not available , . Is it too early?
