  1. Here is a very useful article on what to do if you test positive: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/04/travel/covid-test-positive-traveling-overseas.html?campaign_id=24&emc=edit_tl_20220507&instance_id=60717&nl=travel-dispatch&regi_id=133995327&segment_id=91608&te=1&user_id=3d85b498ef43897380c2a3929ebfeb1e
  2. Yes. No problem. Other venues also have special menus on those nights.
  3. Celebrity uses the 3:25 for a good reason. They will make it back within a comfortable time. The ferries are reliable, but if there are high winds and choppy water it can take longer to embark and disembark and for the transit itself. One extra hour in Capri is not worth the risk of missing your ship.
  4. In Greece liquor is sold in grocery stores and wine stores. There are no dedicated liquor stores. Just ask when you get to Mykonos.
  5. Many of the cruise ship tours take the tenders to Athinios, the "other port" where you can actually disembark and take a bus, taxi, etc, and tour the island. It is usually reserved for the ship's own tours, not for independent tours.
  6. Not really. That would require a trip to the bank instead of just putting the euros in their pocket. Think about tipping someone in the US in euros. If you are tipping in cash, always tip in the local currency.
  7. Stefano's Rome Cabs provides what you are looking for. Email them. They will customize the tour to your specific interests. https://www.romecabs.com/transferservice/civitavecchia/ https://www.romecabs.com/post-cruise-tours-civitavecchia/
  8. The Domus Aurea is open again for tours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. All tickets are available (so far) on the coopcuture.it website. https://www.coopculture.it/en/products/domus-aurea-experience/
  9. They release them at midnight (Italy time). You need to be on the website exactly on time to have a chance. Don't waste time trying for English. Si tiene suerte lo consigue en español.
  10. They will accept your Canadian proof of vaccination. They also accept the CDC vax card. You can turn both of these into QR Codes. See the COVID Testing Q&A sticky on this board.
  11. Gambero Rosso just named the best gelaterie in Italy for 2022. 12. It's a huge sacrifice, but I volunteer for the task. I already have my reservation for early June. You'll owe me!
  13. It is easy to walk around the town. The castle is on a hill above the town and you will need a taxi. The wineries are outside the town and you need a tour or other arrangements.
  14. On the other hand, a friend returned from France five days ago. She came down with COVID yesterday. (Bad sore throat and positive PCR test.) She suspects she got it in the flight home, since she was traveling in the countryside and being careful. And yes, she is vaccinated and boosted. So, it could be a good idea to keep masks on while onthe plane.
  15. See Greece. It is not the place for good snorkeling
  16. They have jeep tours in Mykonos which are a lot of fun and they combine your countryside, photos and beach requirements. They take you around the island and stop at three different beaches for a swim. There is plenty of time for lunch and swimming at one of the beaches (probably Kalafati). https://www.mykonosexclusivetours.com/ https://bluelionsafari.com/ You can probably book something through Viator. We prefer booking directly with the companies. For Santorini, there are companies that give private tours. Most people head straight to Oia which I think is a mistake. Oia is not going anywhere. We prefer driving around the island first - Megalochori, Pyrgos, Akrotiri, wineries, etc - and end up in Oia, hopefully for the sunset. You can also include beach stops at Perissa , Perivolos or Kamari beaches. As an alternative, there are boat tours to the volcano. But Santorini deserves some time on land on your first trip. Photo ops are endless. There are excellent restaurants in Oia and Fira. We like 1800 in Oia. But this depends on how long you are in port.
  17. As of May 1 the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) is no longer required for entry into Italy. COVID tests or proof of vaccination for entry from other countries will be required until May 31. The Green Pass is no longer required in restaurants (inside or outside), concerts, etc. Masks are required in public transportation and health facilities.
  18. Users of any Epic's MyChart variation may be able to generate QR codes of their vaccine and test results. They can be uploaded to the MyChart mobile app, website, health wallet, airline website, etc., or printed. I just got this message from my provider. Since so many people have a version of MyChart, you should check yours to see if this feature has been implemented. Here is a youtube video explaining how to do it:
  19. Here is the final decree: https://www.lastampa.it/cronaca/2022/03/17/news/super_green_pass_obbligo_vaccinale_mascherine_draghi_convoca_la_cabina_di_regia_poi_il_cdm-2875656/?ref=LSHBBC-BH-I0-PM9-S1-T1 Green pass ends March 31 for outdoor activities, including restaurant outside tables. Green pass ends April 30 for indoor activities including restaurants indoor tables Super green pass (over 50 at work) ends April 30 Masks outdoors end now Masks inside end April 30 Vaccine requirements for certain jobs end June 15 Vaccine requirements for health care workers remain until December 31 No word about cruise ships, but chances are all restrictions will be lifted by May 1.
