  1. So many bad puns. 🤣 Love it!! Sorry for those on board, though.
  2. Oooooohhhh, we should be getting ours any day for our 4/28 on the Riviera! Dinner soon??
  3. The cruise we followed was a swingers’ cruise, so perhaps more than just topless women. And, gee, what about the bottomless men??
  4. I think that’s the best advice. Having been on the refurbished Riviera and just last month on the Marina, I can safely say, for us anyway, that though we’d love to have the redone bathrooms, their lack is not a deal breaker by any stretch. We found the Marina to be very well maintained. I think O is doing all they can/as much as they can while still recovering financially from Covid and bringing the new ships on board, so to speak. 🙂
  5. No kidding! We were on the Regatta in French Polynesia a couple of years ago that immediately followed a similar charter. It was a bit unsettling thinking about it. I’m going to say the crew got an eyeful. 😳
  6. Regatta only has one laundry room, which is on Deck 7.
  7. We had that happen in February. It was fine going in, but it turned really rough in the afternoon. We were on one of the last tenders, and it was really rough. After a few passes, we were able to pull along side, but then the mooring rope broke, and it took several more. Several people were rather panicked. Not us, though. 🙂
  8. Idle curiosity question to anyone who is on this cruise or the last one. How is the new cruise director doing? She seemed a bit of an odd choice to me, but what do I know??
  9. Thanks for your post and link to your review! We, too, will be on the Riviera, having last sailed on her shortly after her refurb. Our itinerary is Singapore to Dubai.
  10. Thanks so much to all who have posted so far! We will be there towards the end of April and can’t wait! I’ll look forward to reading more posts and adding my thoughts, too, after our visit. Jane
  11. We just ended a cruise in Santiago a few weeks ago and stayed at Hotel Le Rêve. It’s a small boutique hotel in a neighborhood with a number of restaurants nearby. We were quite happy with it.
  12. Shaun’s company is Adventure Falklands.
  13. Same here! Patrick has retired, but his assistant Shaun Jaffray took over. Shaun’s mom was our driver. It was quite the ride but so worth it!
  14. We were on the Marina just before you. We were told two days before, but I didn’t go get it until the day before.
  15. Same here. Have to agree it’s really nice for hanging things to dry. I just requested to move to an A3 on the Riviera on an upcoming cruise, and I’ll actually be a bit disappointed if it comes through. 😊
  16. We were just on the Marina in January and found her to be in very good shape. The crew was doing maintenance constantly, including repainting the outside hull that had we noticed was pretty scuffed up and rusty in a few places when we originally boarded. We kept in mind that salt water and docking are pretty hard on the exterior of any ship. We also had no issues with our a/c. Are there other things that you are concerned about? We wouldn’t hesitate to book the Marina again before her refurb.
  17. We were just on the Marina in January in an A3 cabin on 9. It was very hot in Brazil, but we had no problems with the a/c. Can’t say for others, but I didn’t hear any grumbling, though I did see a fan in one of the cabins. On the other hand, I sleep with a fan in our 63 degree house, so who knows…
  18. If the last part of your ride to Volunteer Point was like ours, I’m going to say the tender was nothing. You all have had a fabulous cruise getting to see A-24 and making it into the Falklands! FDR must have the karma. 🙂
  19. I am looking for a SIM card that will cover the countries in between the above. I cannot use an e-SIM. All suggestions based on your use of one appreciated. Thanks!
  20. Yes, you posted it just yesterday. It’s easy to check by looking back.
  21. Really excited for you! We were on the cruise just before yours. We weren’t able to have a sighting, but the cruise before ours did, too. Must admit I’m just a wee bit jealous, too.
  22. In the swimming pool, clo.
  23. Be sure to do the Polar Plunge when you get below 60 degrees. So much fun.
  24. Sorry, I’m not following your logic. My point was most places we’ve flown to and from outside the US restrict onboard liquid sizes. This is the only airport we’ve flown from, so far, that waits until the jet bridge to check. And, not to belabor the point about powering down devices, our announce said it was a Chilean requirement, yet ORV’s Delta flight didn’t require that. Go figure.
