  1. I am trying but I'm currently balancing between getting the deal and missing out on a cabin. I have a number of family members interested and I always do all the booking for them so I'd like to book at least 2 or 3 cabins. I can't see any of the deals other members have listed and I've also tried interline. What else am I missing? At some point I have to accept defeat 😫.
  2. Thanks. I have a VIFP number but no good deals show up for me. I'm booking anyway but I was curious.
  3. Ok, here's a hypothetical question because I'm curious about how things work in the background. If a "friend" booked one and I was the other passenger in that cabin and then that "friend" didn't board the ship, what would happen? Another question, for those who have been offered great Carnival deals, can you book more than one cabin per cruise at that cheap price?
  4. We wasted hours trying to get everything uploaded and they didn't even ask us about it last month. Luckily we took print outs for my elderly parents as they don't even have smart phones.
  5. I still can't see any deals. I even phoned them and they said too bad . I'll probably book something anyway because the timing suits me and the cruise is still cheap for that time of year.
  6. Ok thanks. That gives me hope and I'll keep trying. I've noticed there's an array of cabins if I book triple but only interior or suite for twin or quad so they must be trying to get a bit of extra bang for buck with those cabins. Even at the full asking price this is a pretty cheap cruise for NYE.
  7. I'm trying to book the 29/12 cruise but can't get the cheap rates. It's making my brain hurt! Congrats to all those who can access it.
  8. Look what lack of staff and inexperience has done to the airlines. Cruising has certainly done a much better job than that! Cruise on! 😃
  9. I don't disagree with you at all about personal responsibility. As I was saying, my concern is that cruising will be shut down again because it is so easy to pinpoint an "outbreak" on a ship. Ships are so used to switching to staff served buffets when there is a noro outbreak I'm just surprised they didn't take that option for the restart. Covid outbreaks on a ship may not phase hardened cruisers like us but the bad press will stop of lot of others from going, and that in turn stops cruising. The ships won't keep sailing if passengers aren't making bookings. I don't want to see that happen. Half of this country still think covid was invented by the Diamond Princess!
  10. I didn't see the story but read the headlines and expected the truth to be quite different from whatever was reported. In saying that, I was astounded when I was on the Coral last month that there was a self serve buffet and no policing of masks anywhere onboard. I guess I was expecting a much bigger outbreak, and sooner. But by having short cruises initially I figured people were off the ship before their symptoms showed so it couldn't be blamed on cruising but as cruises get longer, they have a more captive audience and it'll make for a better news beat up. For the record, my concerns re the slack covid "protocols" onboard were not meant as a whinge, but more about the risk that cruising would be paused again and that I would miss out for another 2 years 🥺.
  11. The ship feels pretty empty. The Coral Princess seems to have a lot more lounge venues and less activity around the atrium area so people are spread out. I asked the dining room staff last night about occupancy and they said there were approx 1400 pax onboard. I think I read that the Coral holds 1750ish at two berth occupancy, and the staff said she holds 2200-2300 when full so that explains why the ships seems so quiet.
  12. I'm onboard now and I would say mask wearing is pretty low. I'd take a stab to say that less than 50% are wearing them in lifts (signs say you have to). Most people I encounter don't appear to have a mask with them at all. We carry ours, especially when heading to food or drink, but really only put them on to enter the dining room. There is a staff member on the entry to the buffet handing out masks so you notice most people in the food service area wearing them but when they come up for their second (or third) round of food they mask is long gone. I don't think I've seen anyone in a bar wearing a mask if they are sitting at a table. Some people wear them on entry but they are long gone after that. I haven't seen any sip and cover! Last night I was in Universal Liunge watching a comedian and don't recall seeing any masks.
  13. Ropes just dropped, I think we're about to be on our way!
  14. I am onboard and eagerly awaiting the turn. I just watched a couple of small groups of people disembark the ship. I'm just hoping we set sail before dark so I can see the push, turn and working docks as we sail into the bay.
  15. I've been on the Majestic twice and it was free access both times.
